Thor 2 in 2013

June 30, 2011 0 comments

Disney announced that Marvel Studios will be doing a second film for Thor. Along with the announcement of Thor 2, Iron Man 3 will have a release date aiming at May 3, 2013. Of course Chris Hemsworth will be returning to portray the God of Thunder, but Kenneth Branagh won't be returning to direct; July 26, 2013 is the planned release date for Thor 2.

We're facing many different movies based off of Marvel's creations - The Amazing Spider-Man, Avengers, Captain America, Wolverine, Thor 2 and Iron Man 3. I might be missing one or two, those are just from the top of my head, but either way I'm stoked for all of them.

Arkham City: The Riddler

June 29, 2011 0 comments

After showing Batman, Catwoman, Robin and Penguin, Rocksteady has released another black and white image of another character - The Riddler. I loved the Riddler's riddles in Arkham Asylum and I'm hoping the riddles return along with a bigger role for the Riddler.

Zelda: Skyward Sword Tidbits

Eiji Aonuma's interview in Famitsu magazine gives a bit of information about the upcoming Zelda: Skyward Sword, one of them being that the game is pretty much complete, so maybe there will be a release date for this year (a man can hope at least).
  • In this game, Zelda starts out as a childhood friend of Link’s — and not royalty. “She’s not a princess this time,” Aonuma said, “which is something I’ll pretty much have to put forth right now in order to talk about this title. She’s a childhood friend, but she goes away in the midst of the game and it’s Link’s job to search for her.”
  • The starting plot unfolds quite a bit differently from other Zeldas. “This game’s plot is something like a school drama, you could say,” Aonuma noted with a laugh. “The flying sequence at the E3 demo is Link competing against his classmates. One of them looks kind of a like a bad guy, as you saw, and he shows up in other ways in the game too, since he has a major thing for Zelda.”
  • - Despite this, though, the game progresses in a somewhat similar fashion to a previous Zelda title. “The game starts in Skyloft, this city that’s floating in the air, and you’ll come back to this town multiple times,” Aonuma said. “Things are always proceeding along in town, and in that respect it’s very much like Majora’s Mask. Like with Majora, there are a lot of game events involving the townspeople that get intertwined with the main story. Link, Zelda and their other friends all go to the same boarding school, and you’ve got teachers and a principal as well. It’s a bit of a different setting from previous Zeldas.”
  • Aonuma’s team is making a deliberate effort to give Link new items — like the boomerang-beetle in the E3 demo — early on in Skyward Sword. “With previous Zeldas,” he said, “the common pattern was that the really neat items wouldn’t show up until later on in the game. You need to have the basic item set or it wouldn’t be Zelda, so the new items tended to get shunted to the latter part of the game. [Shigeru] Miyamoto said that had to change, like ‘This is neat, let’s bring it out from the start.’ So a lot of neat new items will show up pretty early on.”
  • Is Skyloft the entire ‘world’ in this game? “Yes, it’s only the people in Skyloft,” Aonuma responded. “Nobody on there thinks anything of it, though, because living in Skyloft and flying around on birds is normal to them. They don’t have any awareness of there being a mainland beneath the clouds and so forth — that gets expanded upon once Zelda goes missing, and you get access to the areas under the clouds.”
  • - Does everyone in Skyloft have their own personal avian transport? “It’s the custom for each person to have one bird. Link has a red one, and it’s actually a special and very rare breed of bird — which is something that makes him get picked on, like ‘Why do you get this fancy bird and we don’t?!’ But it turns out that you need that red bird in order to access the mainland. So the hand of fate gets involved here, like it always does in Zelda games sooner or later.”
  • Ghiraham, the enemy Link fought in the E3 demo’s boss battle, is definitely going to be an important character in Skyward Sword. “The demo shows when you first meet him, and plainly he’s looking down at Link, stopping his sword with his fingers and so forth,” Aonuma noted. “In terms of story image he’s kind of like Dark Link [from Ocarina of Time]; he sees right through Link’s moves in battle. You can sort of swing your sword wildly and still hold your own against a lot of foes, but there’s no way you can beat Ghiraham like that. You need to keep your distance and watch his moves, and it’s something you’ll need to change your strategy for. I think he’s a pretty good change of pace as bosses go, and he’ll change gradually throughout the game.”
  • Will Ganon show up? “This game talks about the birth of the Master Sword, and it touches on why Ganondorf showed up. If you play it, I think you’ll get some understanding on that. It connects to Ocarina, so if you play Ocarina of Time 3D and move on to this game, I think you’ll catch on to a lot of things.”
  • How’s development going along? “The whole game is complete, and we’re fine-tuning the balance right now. We were going to have it wholly done by around E3, but there’s so much volume to it, neither I nor Miyamoto have gotten to fully play out every aspect. The non-English localizations are proceeding along now, and we’re trying to make this a simultaneous worldwide release. You have to put Zelda all out at once or else the story’s going to get spoiled — although, really, there’s a ton to enjoy here even if you know a little about the story beforehand.”

So Zelda won't be a princess this time around, that's quit interesting, but that little tidbit has got me more interested in the game. I'm sure that Skyward Sword won't disappoint its fans, so a little tweak like this won't ruin anything.

I came across this lovely video the other day and found it extremely interesting. I love how perfectly it goes with the song.

Left 4 Dead In Real Life

Ever wondered what Left 4 Dead would look like if it featured real life people? Well now you can; this video features people who share similar physical qualities with the cast of Left 4 Dead. Sure they might look like Francis, Luis, Zoey and Bill, but their acting cannot make them those characters alone. Not even the music is good enough to help them.

Arkham City Box Art

The new box art for the upcoming game Batman: Arkham City was been revealed today; I'm not impressed with it when you compare it to Arkham Asylum.

I'm not saying that it's bad at all, I'm just saying that it could be better. Nonetheless, I like it and it won't hinder my yearning for it at all.

Iron Man Anime Clip

June 27, 2011 0 comments

Marvel released a clip of the upcoming Iron Man anime today, and my first impressions were good and bad. At first, I thought it looked pretty cool, the voice kind of fits Tony Stark, could be better though. But then when Wolverine came in and started talking, I was confused; Tony has a raspier voice than Wolverine, how that works, I don't know.

This clip makes me a bit skeptical on how the show will be, but I'll give the dubs a go. If I like the dubs, I'll continue watching it, if they're bad then I will watch the dubs. And if the dubs are bad, well, then I will have to choose which one has the worst voice acting and not go with that one.

Uber Update - Day Five - Stuff Friday

June 24, 2011 0 comments

This surely surprised me, I was just randomly checking the TF2 site and saw that the Uber Update is not entirely over. There is a new one today being called Stuff Friday This new update gives us:

  • The "Meet the Medic" taunt
  • The "Schadenfreude" Taunt pack
  • Meet the Medic Lithograph
  • Some new art in the art section

You can also buy a limited edition Meed the Medic lithograph over at the Valve Store, if its still available when I get some extra cash, this is going to go on one of my walls. I actually thought that yesterday was the end of the Uber Update, so I wonder if this is going to be the end or not. But the new Medic taunt is pretty great.

The "Schadenfreude" Taunt pack gives you the ability, for all nine classes, to point and laugh at your opponents, only available at the Mann Co. Store. The "Meet the Medic" Taunt is also purchasable in the Mann Co. Store.

    TF2 Complaints

    June 23, 2011 0 comments

I've been reading a lot of complaints about Valve deciding to have Team Fortress 2 a free-to-play game; their concerns go from them feeling scammed, a worry about an increase in hackers and annoying people.

I understand why people feel scammed, especially if you just bought the game recently, but there's also a consideration that needs to be brought up. Team Fortress 2 is worth more than a $20 dollar value, we get free updates and free packs, buying items in game is optional; most of the time we can craft or find drops of the in store items. I bought the game a few years ago and I love it, and I have no problem with Valve's decision since they've taken care of us with all the nice updates (yeah some updates caused many glitches but what game doesn't?) Considering all the stuff they have added to the whole game play experience, the value of Team Fortress 2 should have shot up in price.

I don't understand why people are concerned about hackers, it's not like Valve is getting rid of VAC and I personally do not see a lot of hackers on Team Fortress 2, of my many hours of playing, I don't believe I've seen any hackers at all. And for annoying people, there's something called "Mute Player" than can easily be done with a couple of clicks with your mouse.

These are silly little concerns, and I don't believe that this will be the end of TF2, plus, Valve is giving Premium Users (people who bought the retail version) more benefits than the Free-to-Play players.

Along with that he get a simple little hat.

For some of you, that might not be enough, but for me it is; at least Valve is showing support for the Premium Users and are acknowledging us.

Valve has stated that they'll even keep an eye on any exploiters:

"Q. Won’t going Free to Play mean more griefers and cheaters?

We’re increasing our focus on making sure that hostile players can’t ruin your fun. Specifically, we’ll be keeping a close eye on players exploiting the ability to make infinite free accounts to bypass bans. We’ve built systems that’ll allow us to measure and track what these players are doing, and respond quickly."

In the end, I don't think the F2P update will cripple TF2 at all, I think it will either stay the same or make the community vast. I would love to hear what others have to say though, but I welcome this new update.

Current TF2 Players Get A Hat [Update]

On the Free-to-Play Faqs Page, players who have been playing by buying a retail copy of Team Fortress 2 will be getting a hat.

"Q. What happens if I buy a retail copy of TF2?

You will automatically be upgraded to have a premium account and will be given a special Proof of Purchase hat to wear on any character in-game."

No word on when or what the hat will look like, but at least we get a free hat!

Update: We finally got a picture of what the Proof of Purchase hat looks like, its very simple and I'm okay with it. I wasn't expecting anything too big and fancy; I was expecting something like this, like how Valve gave the Cheater's Lament.

Uber Update - Day Four - Meet the Medic

The video I posted in my last post was indeed the Meet the Medic video, and I'm sorry I'm a bit late on this, trying to get access to the Team Fortress 2 site was hell. But anyways, the star of the update got his chance to shine today with a new video and new weapons that are:

    • The Quick Fix - Medigun Prototype
    • The Solemn Vow - Bust of Hippocrates
    • The Overdose - Syringe Gun Prototype
The new weapons are pretty impressive, it would have been nice if they offered some Battle Medic helping items; the Solemn Vow will surely come in handy at times though.

Along with the Medic's new arsenal, Valve has also announce that Team Fortress 2 is now free to play.

This will certainly cause a lot of uproar and people saying things like "I want my 20 bucks back." But hey, it is what it is now, and there's no way we'll be getting our money back. What would be neat though is if Valve gave players a neat item for having the game before today. At least everyone can enjoy Team Fortress 2 now.

I just also realized that the Engineer still needs his update, I'll be looking around the TF2 blog to see anything Engineer realted.

Is This Really the Meet the Medic Video?

So while looking through the forums of TF2,I found this. Could this possibly be the new Meet the Medic Video, it seems legit enough. The update should be here soon. But just in case this is true, here it is. I'm freakin loving it though. Either way, we'll know for sure if it's the real thing or not in a bit.

I just realized, at the end of the video it says that Team Fortress 2 is now free to play...forever. If this is true, then dammit. I'll keep you guys updated as fast as I can about any of this and see if it's this is real and if TF2 is now free to play; so keep checking back.

      Captain America Trailer 2

A new trailer for the upcoming Captain America movie was released today, and I'm still pumped up for it; there wasn't really anything new or interesting added to this trailer, but hey, it's still news worthy.

      Prince of Persia 75% Off

Ubisoft's online store are having digital sales for the Summer starting today and ending this Sunday. Today's sale is the entire Prince of Persia collection for $19.99, originally $79.99; five games for 20 bucks is not a bad deal at all, that's the same price I paid for the first three.

Along with Prince of Persia, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood is 33% off along with a few others games on sale. Ubisoft may be having their sales, but I'm waiting for the Steam Summer Sales; I need to get a job fast.

      Killing Floor Summer Sideshow Event

Starting June 30th, Tripwire is offering another holiday event for Killing Floor. Their first event was Christmas themed, this time it will be a Summer Carnival theme with new skins for the mutants, new achievements and a new costume.

The Sideshow Event will last all the way till July 22nd with Map Achievements for the new carnival themed map and new regular achievements. Along with that, if you get 10 out of the 13 achievements, you'll win a Steampunk Mr. Foster.

So for a near month, players will be able to participate in this new event for free on your PC, that is if you already own Killing Floor. I wasn't able to complete the Christmas Event, so I'm for sure going to try and beat this one and get all achievements. Too bad there's no TF2 item this time unlike the new Pyro Mask and Tie.

The new names the mutates will take are the:

      • The Strange Little Clots
      • Bearded Lady
      • Two-Headed Girl
      • Incredible Man Monkey
      • Mechanical Man
      • FleshClown
Time to bust out my copy that I haven't played in awhile now.

The first Marvel Anime shows that will hit American T.V.s will be Iron Man and Wolverine on July 29th; the air times for both shows will be on Fridays starting at 11 PM and end at 12 PM starting with Iron Man then followed by Wolverine. Remember, G4 will be the host of both new shows.

      Plots:

Iron Man - Tony Stark is a physicist, an engineer, and the CEO of a major arms manufacturing company. On a battlefield he is injured from his own weapons and taken prisoner by terrorists. In order to keep his own heart beating, he creates the Ironman Suit and escapes. Once free, Stark decides to dedicate his life to pursuing world peace with the Ironman technology, so he moves to Japan to use the resources of "Lab 23," home of the world's first Arc Reactor. Wanting to devote himself fully to this research, Stark decides to retire as Ironman and announce the mass-production of suits to fulfill his duties. But at the announcement ceremony he is attacked by the mysterious organization known as "Zodiac," and his plans have to change.

Wolverine - Next in the four-part Marvel Anime project and broadcasts after the Iron Man anime. Happy Birthday Sonic

Today marks the twentieth birthday for the fast and blue hedgehog; 20 years of bad and good games, along with many decent T.V. shows and comics. I've never owned any type of Sega consoles, but I do remember watching and playing Sonic with friend's Sega consoles, and those were great memories. Here's to you Sonic, one of the most ups and downs a game series has ever had.

      Sonic The Hedgehog

      Sonic the Hedgehog 2

      Sonic the Hedgehog CD

      Sonic Spinball

      Sonic the Hedgehog 3

      Sonic & Knucles

      Sonic Labyrinth

      Sonic 3D Blast

      Sonic R

      Sonic Adventure

      Sonic Pocket Adventure

      Sonic Shuffle

      Sonic Adventure 2

      Sonic Advance

      Sonic Advance 2

      Sonic Battle

      Sonic Heroes

      Sonic Advance 3

      Sonic Rush

      Sonic Riders

      Sonic the Hedgehog

      Sonic and the Secret Rings

      Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity

      Sonic Chronicles The Dark Brotherhood

      Sonic Unleashed

      Sonic and the Black Knight

      Sonic the Hedgehog 4

      Sonic Free Riders

      Sonic Colors

      Sonic Generations

After looking at most of these, I have the urge to download some ROMs and replay most of these games, and some of them, I just want to stay away from. All these videos are in chronological order starting from 1991 to now.

      Death of Spider-Man Review

I just finished the last issue of Ultimate Spider-Man's Death of Spider-Man, and it was good, but not the best. It almost made me tear up, yeah, I'll say it and I'll explain myself, but at the same time it was too fast. This whole issue was about Spidey dishing it out with the Green Goblin while he's incredibly wounded as he's trying to protect Aunt May and Gwen.

The first part that got me going "Oh hell yeah, some ass will be kicked!" was when Johnny went after the Goblin.

But then the Green Goblin absorbed Johnny's flames and knocked him out, so there went my few seconds of happiness. But then this happened:

As Spidey is being up the Goblin, the Goblin gets Spider-Man to the ground, and right before he can do anything to Spider-Man, Mary Jane comes to the rescue slamming into the Green Goblin. She brought a truck to a fight, you never see that happen. But where int he world did she get that thing from? And how was she able to steal it? Hot wiring perhaps, or maybe asking nicely for the keys.

The greatest part of Mary Jane's arrival was when Peter threw her in the air for her safety, but it's okay, he spun a web for her to land in.

This is where it starts to get good; the first time Spider-Man breaks his non killing rule. Spider-Man lifts the truck MJ brought and starts to lay the Goblin out pound after pound. Everything seems to be alright by then, until the car explodes, throwing Peter to the middle of a lawn with his loved ones surrounding him during his last moments. As he lays there, he tells Aunt May this:

"It's okay. I--I did it. Don't you see...it's okay. I did it. I couldn't save him. Uncle Ben. I couldn't save him...No matter what I did. But I saved you. I did it. I did.."

He then cuts off as his once opened eyes were closed. The comic then ends by having a close up on Norman's bloody face.

What made me almost tear up was his dying words, I've been following Ultimate Spider-Man since before it officially came out with my first issue being a preview during Free Comic Book Day. And seeing one of my favorite super heroes go like that, is pretty intense. But this wasn't the best Ultimate Comic Spider-Man; the whole thing went by fast, I was able to finish it with a matter of minutes, and I took my time to read it. I wish they would've written and drawn out more for it, it was too rushed for something like this.

That's my take on the Death of Spider-Man, I still have a few comics to read, especially the Fear Itself tie-ins, but once I finish those up, I'll write up a review for you guys.

The Detonator - Pyro Uber Update

The same friend who showed me the secret Scout Uber Update once again showed me another secret somewhere on the Team Fortress 2 blog, this page gave us an update for the Pyro. It seems like the Soldier stole the amount of items the Pyro gets considering there's only one weapon for him: The Detonator.

What's so special about this new flare gun is that you can explode the flares in mid air with the alt-fire, but what's even more awesome is that you can flare jump with it, that is if it's anything like it's beta counterpart; if you've played the Team Fortress 2 beta, then you'd know what I'm talking about.

I have no idea where this secret is hidden, I am searching the site trying to find where this puppy is hidden. All that's left is the Engineer and Medic, can't wait to see what's in store for them!

Update: Thank you to my friend Engyman, he pointed out the location of the secret page for the Pyro Uber Update, just click on the Pyro's face on the paper to the left of the Soldier and it will take you directly to the Detonator page.

      Just click on the face

      Today's Marvel Comic List

      June 22, 2011 0 comments

Today marks the final issue of Death of Spider-Man for the Ultimate Universe, I have yet to get a hold of the comic issue yet, but it is something I'm really going to get once I get the time. Along with Ultimate Spidey's death, more tie-ins for Fear Itself comes out today that includes:
      • Iron Man 2.0 #6
      • Secret Avengers #14
      • Thunderbolts #159
Other than that, issue three of the Mighty Thor hits shelves today which begins a fight between the Silver Surfer and Thor and continuing the story of why Galactus is coming to destroy Asgard. Once I get my hands on today's released comics and finish reading them, I'll do a review of them for anyone who's interested.

Uber Update - Day Three - World War Wednesday

First it was Mafia, then Arabian, now it's World War themed today with the next part of the Uber Update. In this update, the Soldier is the only one getting goodies, but not with just one pack but with two packs giving him a total of five items that include:

      • The Mantreads - Boots
      • The Disciplinary Action - Riding Crop
      • The Liberty Launcher - Rocket Launcher
      • The Reserve Shooter - Shotgun
      • The Market Gardner - Shovel

Three of his new weapons deal with being airborne and doing damage while in air, those are goign to be tough to perfect, but it gives me a reason to practice my rocket jumping.

I was expecting two classes today with another hidden classes somewhere on the page, thus giving Medic the spotlight for tomorrow's last update. Now we just have 3 more classes that needs an update: Engineer, Medic and Pyro. Maybe Valve will surprise us with another update today, only time will tell us what they'll really do.

Valve Interested In The Wii U

The lucky students at the Games for Learning Institute's Games for Change conference in New Yorkwere able to have Gabe Newell speak over at their school. During his time there, he has stated his interest in the Wii U by saying:

"Wii U seems to be a lot more powerful than the previous generation," he said, adding, "It sort of fits better into the scalability in terms of graphics performance and CPU performance, so I think it'll be a lot easier for us to fit it into our scalability model."
I'm excited to see what Valve has in store for the WiiU, and kudos to them for branching out of their PC only thing so many more people can enjoy their games. I'd love to see what they'd do with the Wii U and the type of game play they could offer.

New Zelda Title For The Wi iU

People have been wondering what Legend of Zelda games this picture game from, was it a demo or a brand new game for the Wii U? Well, Miyamoto finally laid our wondering heads to rest, he has officially confirmed that there will be a new Legend of Zelda game for the Wii U.

This is an HD system, our first HD system, and we want to create a real HD Zelda game for it. You will see a lot of these in-depth and deep experiences in terms of visual style. You will also see some play styles that are fun and interesting because of the play structure. You have a screen available at any time that you can check. This dedicated second screen, and the way people may use it, not just for gaming, but to do things like browse the Internet, is the Wii U’s single, biggest design accomplishment. When you look at most TVs in home nowadays it takes awhile for them to turn on. That becomes a barrier for people.

I'm actually quite surprised that Nintendo is dishing out a new Zelda game since Skyward Sword isn't even out yet. Just shows that they're on top of things. If they're working on it now, then does that mean that this new Zelda game could be a release title for the Wii U?

Want to use your webcam in order to control Gordon Freeman peeking out from a pile of crates while being shot at by the Combine Soldiers? Well now you can...for free, and you don't need anything except for a copy of a source based game, this new mod and a standard web cam. I might have to go buy myself a web cam and mess around with this.

The #1 Fan - Scout Uber Update

I got this from a friend of mine, how he found it, I have no idea. But I'm getting somewhere hidden on the Team Fortress 2 site holds the page that shows an update for the Scout that was released today with the Sniper and Demoman.

The Scout gets a new set of weapons also, them being:
      • The Soda Popper - Scattergun
      • The Atomizer - Bat
      • The Winger - Pistol
If you look at the Atomizer, it says you are now able to triple jump, but with the exception of losing 10 health. And the Scout gets a meter similar to the Soldier's, but his is the 'Hype meter' that gives mini-crits to the Soda Popper when the meter is full. This is pretty crazy for me since I had no idea about this, and I'm still trying to find out where on the Team Fortress page this is at, either way it was an interesting find thanks to my friend [titz (not his real name of course)].

Update: I just found out where the secret link is hidden. On the Timbuk Tuesday page, if you scroll to the bottom of the page you'll find an empty can that you can click, which will then lead you to the Scout's update page.

      The can is clickable!

Uber Update - Day Two - Timbuk Tuesday

Day Two of the Uber Update is officially out, this time there's an Arabian theme with new weapons for the Sniper and Demoman.

      Sniper's new weapons are:
      • The Bazaar Bargain - Sniper Rifle
      • The Shahanshah - Sword
      Demoman's includes:
      • The Splendid Screen - Shield
      • The Persian Persuader- Sword
      • Ali Baba's Wee Booties - Shoes
The Demo's items, I gotta say, are pretty OP. Which means I will use most of the load outs just to mess with people. The Sniper's new items will definably be used by me. If I thought the Heavy's weapons needed to be tweaked, I wasn't obviously ready for the Demoman's. Now I can't wait till tomorrow's update, and I hope the hats the Sniper and Demo are wearing are actual hats.

Peggle On Your Android Device For Free

After PopCap decided to release Chuzzle and Plants vs. Zombie on Android devices, they decided to release one more of their games for free just for today. Peggle will be distributed for free via the Amazon App Store.

Not sure if it will work on Android 2.1, but I am currently downloading it on my 2.3 tablet. I'm currently having trouble downloading Peggle though, not too sure if there is some traffic or what. If you have an Android, check the game out since its free just for today. I've always been interested in playing Peggle but never really wanted to spend the few bucks on it, luckily I waited for a free version.

While checking the Team Fortress 2 blog to see if there is any news about today's update, I stumbled across a class info page; to get to this page, just select one of the classes on the banner. This info page gives the origin of the selected class, their role, a short description, a link to the wiki page, their "Meet the" video and their default arsenal with a link to all their weapons.

I thought this was a cool little thing they added, I believe it was added during yesterday's update.

      Fear Itself (So Far)

Tonight I have decided to write my thoughts on Fear Itself and inform people of what's going on. Be cautious though, there will be tons of spoilers.

Fear Itself's synopsis basically goes like this: The Serpent, an old enemy of Odin, was defeated by Odin and locked was locked away under the sea while Odin messed with space and time and made it look like the Serpent never existed. Back in WWII, the Red Skull used a magical book constructed of the skin from Atlantians  to call forth a hammer similar to Thor's hammer. The Red Skull tried to move the hammer but he was not deemed worthy and instead constructed a fortress around it. Now in current time, Sin, the Red Skull's daughter, found the Red Skull's book and located the hammer and was able to lift it. From there Sin found where the Serpent was sealed and freed him, unleashing fear across the planet and summoning several different hammers. By now, Odin has been released from Hell and walks amongst the crumbled Asgard, but once he senses the Serpent's return he gather's the Asgardians as he opens a portal to return to the space were Asgard was first located, creating a new Asgard and leaving earth behind while he builds an army and leaves Earth to fend for itself against the new evil. Thor fought against Odin, but was thrown in chains and forced to leave Earth against his will.

That basically covered the comics Sin's Past and Fear Itself 1 and part of 2. These Hammers that fall down are pretty much the same as Mjolnir; "Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be worthy, shall possess the power of <name of the Worthy>." The Worthy are followers of the Serpent that resides within the Hammers, as these Hammers are falling all around the globe, only "the Worthy" are allowed to wield them and are possessed by the Serpent's followers. By now, all Hammers have been claimed by heroes and villains alike, giving them the strength of Thor and at times being stronger than Thor. The heroes/villains who are possesed are as follows:
      • Sin - Skadi
      • Juggernaut - Kuurth
      • Absorbing Man - Greithoth
      • Titania - Skirn
      • The Hulk - Nul
      • Attuma - Nerkkod
      • The Thing -Angir
      • Grey Gargoyle - Mokk

The Thing was the last to change in Fear Itself #3 which ended with one hell of an ending: the death of Captain America (Bucky, not Steve); he got in a tussle with Sin/Skadi with him getting stabbed in the chest then getting his arm ripped off as he gets smacked in the air.

Right before Cap's death, Odin finally heard Thor's plea to let him go help Earth after Loki broke him out of his chains. Odin warned him though, that if Thor dies protecting Earth, he will not help him. The Worthy possesses power equal or greater strength than Thor, they might be one of the strongest opponents Thor as ever faced.

This wouldn't be a Marvel event if there were no crossovers, luckily the best crossovers came out last Wednesday. Those comics included:
      • Avengers 14
      • Avengers Academy 15
      • Youth In Revolt 2
      • Deadpool 1
      • Iron Man 505
      • Alpha Flight 1 (Haven't read yet)
The most notable comics were Avengers, Avengers Academy and Iron Man, they gave me so many chills throughout the story. For the past two issues, the Avengers comic, the Avengers are portrayed to be in interviews speaking about how their going against the fear that's attacking the people along with the possessed heroes and villains. This issue focused more on the duel against Thing/Angir and the Red Hulk, this issue was so amazing on many levels. During these interviews, the heroes are saying that they don't trust the Hulk, that they don't think he should be an Avenger and that he'll have to prove himself. But slowly they start to change that direction and started to say that he did earn the title of being an Avenger. The Red Hulk went head to head against Think/Angir, as he's attacking the Avenger's Tower. Int he end, the Red Hulk was not able to defeat his enemy, he fell along with the monumental Avenger's Tower; his fate is not yet sure, he could still be alive for all we know, but he definitely earned the right to be an Avengers.

I'm not a big fan of Avenger's Academy, but this was another great one; despite Pym being a dick, this issue shows his soft side and how much he cares about his students. It revolved around kids fighting in a war whom Pym doesn't fully believe is ready for this kind of situation. Fear Itself will test the students at the academy and how far are they willing to go to be heroes; Mettle has already killed a man attacking people for the first time and he's forced to pull it together and continue evacuating civilians. This issue was a nice read just because it is not about people who are trained for a situation like this, the heroes in this comic are just kids who are only prepared for fighting some of the villains in the Raft.

Iron Man is going against Grey Gargoyle/Mokk after he has turned every civilian in Paris into stone. What really made this comic amazing were these two pages, one at the beginning and the last page:

In the first picture, Tony is talking to his dad about a Neutron Bomb by filling people up with radiation. And in the last page, Tony is holding a blue capsule, which is most likely the Neutron Bomb that was earlier discussed. But why would Tony be doing with such a devastating thing? I believe he is going to use it in Paris. Everyone is already dead in Paris, so Tony doesn't have to worry about hurting anyone except for Grey Gargoyle/Mokk, but I don't think Tony is afraid of killing him since he killed Detroit Steel and his pilot in front of Stark. What Stark will exactly do with whatever he has is not fully clear, but I cannot wait to find out.

A lot of other stuff is going down in the Marvel Universe, the Defenders are back with Dr. Strange leading Namor, Lyra (Hulk's "daughter), Loa and the Silver Surfer. Hercules is fighting against the God of War's son while Hercules no longer has the powers he use to have, Loki is up to something by making Hela and Mephisto go at war with each other  and Deadpool is doign what Deadpool does.

Speaking of Deadpool, his Fear Itself tie-in is probably one of the worst things I've read next to Lady Deadpool's one-shot. I really can't put my finger on it, but the writing for it is weak, it just seems too silly for Deadpool. But I will try my best to stomach his tie-in even though I am quite sure what he does won't have much affect, unlike in Secret Invasion.

So far, Fear Itself is amazing with many chill inducing moments. There have been some epic battles so far (one being the one with the Red Hulk) and there will be many more to come. One tie-in I'm waiting for are the ones including the X-Men, I don't know how they will fit in with this event but Marvel will find a way; only thing we know is the Dracula is involved since he's in the Fear Itself banners. I suggest Fear Itself to any comic reader though, it started off with a bang and so far it's getting better and better.
