Move over FarmVille, middle aged women have moved on to another simulation based game. If you're on Facebook, then you might have seen on your feed tons of Sims related posts from people who are playing The Sims Social, and believe it or not, but The Sims Social has taken FarmVille's place when it comes to daily active users, FarmVille is no longer number two, The Sims Social now fills that spot.
According to AppData, The Sims Social is bringing in 9.3 million DAU while FarmVille is bringing just 8.1 million, both are being beaten by CityVille though with a whopping 13.9 million DAU.
EA CFO Eric Brown says, "according to Brown, players play an average of three times per day in 15 to 20-minute sessions." Along with, "What has made [The Sims Social] a success so far is the Playfish expertise... combined with the creative excellence of the core Sims team. Those teams work together exceptionally well."
I'm actually not surprised that people are moving over to a new game, I use to play Farmville a lot and now I'm addicted to The Sims Social now. I would not be surprised if this sparks a little sales boost for any Sims game.
