Big news came from San Diego Comic Con today involving the Ultimate Universe. Axel Alonso, Editor-in-Chief over at Marvel has announced that a new Ultimates volume will take shape, and along with that, an Ultimate Hawkeye mini will also come along. He has this to say about the Ultimate Universe:
"We really want to stress that these are going to be monthly shipping books. You guys deserve an'Ultimates' book that ships every month, and I want to give you that."
"One of my priorities when I came in as Editor-in-Chief was taking a good, hard look at the Ultimate line.[...]You'll have to just buy three books to get one universe and not 52."

Writer Nick Spencer also took stage to talk about his new Ultimate X-Men and how it won't be about mutants worrying if humanity will work with or enslave the mutant race, instead it will follow teens - probably the ones from Ultimate X - surviving on their own and following what it's like to be an outsider.Spencer says that he will have a big cast that will include Storm, Colossus, Quicksilver and Jimmy Howlett - Wolverine's son.
Moving away from the Ultimate Universe, Jonathan Hickman started to talk about FF and how the next two arcs for the comic will involve a war that has been teased for a long time - War of Four Cities is what he's probably talking about.
Along with Ultimate Universe and FF news, upcoming comic arcs/titles have been announced, such as:
- Hulk of Arabia
- Evil Deadpool
- Villains For Hire
- Avengers Origins
Hulk of Arabia will take place in Hulk as a new villain will be introduced for the Hulk. Evil Deadpool will involve Deadpool straightening up his act as he goes against Foolkiller. Evil Deadpool will also be a new character that this arc will create . Nothing much was announced about Villains for Hire except that it will be a new monthly ongoing which will come out this November and that Misty Knight builds up a team of villains.
Avengers Origins will be a series of one-shots that retells the stories of various Avenger members - once an Avenger, always an Avenger. Characters that will be featured are:
- Antman & The Wasp
- Luke Cage
- The Vision
- Quicksilver & The Scarlet Witch
- Thor
Avengers Academy will have a new addition of members that will include characters from other comics, like Runaways.
Marvel has a lot of big plans for their comics for the upcoming year, I can't wait for the Avengers Origins along with the new titles for the Ultimate Universe.
