Yes, EA is releasing two different versions of The Sims 3: Pets. Like I said, the PC one is an expansion pack, you will need Sims 3 in order to play the expansions. The Console's version on the other hand is a standalone game and not an expansion, so you won't need Sims 3 in order to play it. One difference is that PC versions gets horses and the console versions gets new karma powers.
