Yep, it's true. You can play as Galactus, the devourer of worlds, in Capcom's upcoming fighter Ultimate MvC3, but not in the way you think it is.
Instead of appearing on the roster like a regular character, Galactus will have his own special story mode separate from the rest. The news was confirmed today at New York Comic-con. More info on Galactus and his mode in the near future.
