WETA Workshop has joined forces with Team Fortress 2 developers in order to give people new items and whatnot. The new space guns, a hat and mutton chops are for the Soldier.
Along with the new items, a comic was just released along with the Dr. Grordbort's Victory Pack.
There is speculation that there are more rockets that the Soldier has found. I'm trying to research it all at the moment, I'll keep you guys update on this crazy new update Valve has set upon us.
Also, if you're at San Diego Comic Con, head over to the WETA booth for a promotional coupon that you can redeem in Team Fortress 2, no idea what it unlocks though.

I just found at that the promotional coupon that you get from San Diego Comic Con unlocks the Righteous Bison, the new Soldier pistol. As for these "other rockets", there's just a lot of speculation going on at the Team Fortress 2 forums, so much that it's confusing to try and fit in all the pieces. I crafted the Cow Mangler though, it just takes one reclaimed metal and a Black Box to craft while the Righteous Bison takes one reclaimed and a Battalion's Backup; they both are easy to craft and fun to use.
