Day One Of Mann vs. Machine Update

August 13, 2012 0 comments

The Mann vs Machine Update is finally heading its way to Team Fortress 2 with multiple updates and new information released everyday. Day One for the Mann vs Machine Update includes a new trailer in which Blu and Red will be working together to take down a common enemy - the Machines.

Along with the trailer is a new TF2 mode for players to enjoy, a co-op mode. The new co-op mode will allow you and five friends to stand against hordes of robots. The robots you will be going against will also be sporting different weapons, for example, the Bowman is a Sniper robot with Huntsman and a Minor League Scout is a Scout with Sandman. But those are just foot soldiers as there will be different types of robots; there is a bomb carrier robot in which players will need to destroy quickly, the bomb carrier will have a defensive buff, health regeneration and full crits all the time. There are also Giants which are just giant version of the foot soldier robots. And then there are Sentry Busters which are giant walking bombs that goes straight for sentries.

Of course this co-op mode is going to need a new map, so Valve has introduced Mannworks. not much information has been given about the map except that it is where the co-op mode will take place.

To see the Mann vs Machine update, which should be out this Wednesday, check out the Team Fortress 2 website.

Newest TF2 Update Celebrates the Year of The Dog

August 2, 2012 0 comments

Today Valve released a Content Update for Team Fortress 2 known as the Triad Pack that gives players new weapons, hats and misc. items as well as announcing a new King of The Hill map that will be released in the near future.

Weapons

Red Tape Recorder (Spy) -  A new type of sapper that instead of destroying buildings, will reverse the building's cycle until it reverts back into a toolbox that can be picked up as ammo. Engies can destroy the sappers but will have to rebuild it where it was sapped.

Flying Guillotine (Scout) - A new secondary for scout, this throwable hatchet will cause enemies to take bleed damage for a few seconds. Long Distance throws will mini-crit and stunned enemies will take full on crits.

Huo Long Heatmaker (Heavy) - This new minigun that will surround you in a ring of flames that will set any enemy on fire in range while deployed, useful for warding off spies. However when you spin-up the weapon it will use 6 ammo per second.

Neon Annhilator (Pyro) - This unorthadox melee weapon for Pyro will automatically crit on enemies that are wet (from mad milk, jarate and possibly when submerged in water) but will have a 20% slower attack and has no random crits.

Hats & Misc.

Human Cannonball (All) - This new all-class hat resembles Crash Helmets worn by Stuntmen, this hat has 3 styles which are regular, adding dragon decals on the side and also adding skater stickers all over the helmet.

Marxman (All) - An all class Misc item that gives the wearer a pair of Groucho Glasses bound together by tape. The item has two styles that gives the item a novelty cigar and one that doesn't have one.

Champ Stamp (Heavy, Sniper, Engineer, Scout) - Be the first class to have a tattoo of a dragon on your arm as well as wearing some fancy wristwear also.

Triad Trinket (Heavy, Sniper, Scout, Engineer, Spy) - Quite possibly the weirdest item in the update, this gives your class an open shirt with a flipped collar and gold necklaces. What makes it weird is that the item has a style that adds chest hair on your character. (except for Scout)

In the near future Valve will also be releasing a new King of the Hill Map named: Kong King, nothing is known about this map except it's gametype and that it will have a Hong Kong theme. Expect this map to be out this month.

June 25, 2012 0 comments

After a weird week of small updates and events, Team Fortress 2 has revealed the Pyromania Update. On the first day we have been revealed not only a new map but a new new game mode as well.

The new Map titled: Doomsday pits RED and BLU in a race to deliver Nukes to Poopy Joe's Australium powered rocket to fight the evil Russian Space Chimp, Vladamir Bananas, I'm not joking.

Each team races to get the necessary fuel and nukes and race to deliver it to a small elevator to deliver the goods to the space ship. The new map and mode will feature 7 new achievements  to unlock. will there be a prize like they did for Foundry? Who knows.

You can head over to the Pyromania HUB page to keep updated on what they have in store. Meet the Pyro will be released in 2 days from the counters perspective.

Back In Action

June 20, 2012 0 comments

Hello everybody! I'm sure you guys have noticed that the blog hasn't been updated in about a week, that is due to my computer breaking down and not being able to do anything internet related (which was quite horrible). I now have another computer to use until my other one is fixed and will be updating the blog on a semi regular basis as I try to get some data on my other hard drives.

Also, if anyone is interested my Team Fortress 2 clan is holding a competition and I will be hosting a live stream event at 3:00 pm Pacific Time. So if you are bored and have nothing to do, why not and watch some TF2 players go against eachother.

A Meet the Pyro Coming Soon

March 25, 2012 1 comments

At GDC 2012 we got an interview with three writers from valve, that told us some pretty interesting information pertaining to our mysterious little friend. Pyro is the only class with out the "Meet the" video, and everyone has eagerly been awaiting for it. They have actually FINISHED Meet the Pyro, but they don't drop any hints as to what is really in it. In the interview with the three writers, they mention that it could be soon and that we most likely will be getting a big update that has to do with the release of the video. Most likely something similar to the Uber Update. We already knew it was bound to happen sometime this year, but at least we know they are one step closer to uploading the video.

New Team Fortress 2 Update With Diamonds

February 14, 2012 0 comments

A new update has been released today for Team Fortress 2 that gives the chance for someone to give "Something Special For Someone Special", the update also has also caused an uproar.

First, Team Fortress 2 has put a $100 diamond ring into the game just in time for Valentines Day. The ring is actually worth $100 and is only giftable, not tradable. When you gift the ring to someone on a server a proposal message will pop up for everyone to see. Once the ring is received then you and the player you gave the ring to will have matching diamond bands.

The thing that is causing tons of distress is the Heavy's Sandvich getting nerfed back to it's near original state. As of now, the Sandvich "will only resupply ammo if the owner picks it up after dropping it. This means the only way to gain health from the Sandvich is by eating it." Originally the Sandvich allowed the Heavy to get back some health after picking up the Sandvich.

I welcome this new balanced tactic; the Heavy already has enough health as is, and it's harder to take him down when he has a medic over-healing him and it's harder to kill a Heavy when he's being healed and after being taken to low health he re-heals himself with a Sandvich. I'm glad they balanced the game, I've never like how the Heavy got to do that, other players on the other hand aren't happy. The heavy always gets buffed and nerfed though, so I expect the next update will allow the Heavy to pull another annoying tactic move.

Enough of my rant, back to the news. The patch notes also reveal something that makes no sense as the last entry reads "Hcqngrq gur ybpnyvmngvba svyrf". In reality it was a decoded message that says that it's just an updated localization file.

Meet the Pyro Coming This Year &, TF2's Secret Project and Many More.

February 3, 2012 0 comments

Valve has announced on the TF2 blog that they will be releasing the "Meet the Pyro" Video sometime later this year, making this the final "Meet the Team" video. About bloody time! They also teased us a new image of the new video as well.
They have also announced that this 2012 they'll be working on something BIG for TF2, and no, it's not a hat, it's not a map and it's not a bunch of hats or maps or weapons or misc. items either. That's all they'll let us know for now, so keep your eye on TF2's blog for more information.

Valve has also released the new Steam Workshop blog, there you can view community created items, announcements and even post your TF2 creations over there. Check it out over here.

And finally, Valve has announced the second annual Saxxy Awards, which rewards the community for their achievements for skill, dedication, creativity and who has the most fashionable loadout. Whoever is lucky enough to win an award will receive a Saxxy item, a gold statue that turns your fallen foes into solid australium

Saints Row Genki Bowl VII and TF2 items

January 17, 2012 0 comments

Yesterday was the official release of Saints Row the Third's first DLC Genki Bowl VII, which is available for 800 MS points (free with a season pass) have a look at it's trailer if you're curious on what to expect.

Unfortunately I wont be downloading this due to lost of interest of Saints Row the Third and I'm really enjoying the Fenix Rising DLC and Skyrim as of right now But that's not all that's going on in the world of Saints Row.

Those who own the Steam Version of Steam can get 9 bobble-head masks of Valves favorite mercenaries, the classes of Team Fortress 2!

These masks will be available for free of charge and is downloaded just like a patch. Then you can blow up people wearing only the demoman mask, or headshot people as Sniper with blue skin. Anything is possible, makes me wish I has the game on steam now...

Team Fortress 2 Presents Australian Christmas!

December 17, 2011 0 comments

Valve is celebrating their second annual TF2 Christmas event, Australian style! Which means more Gordobot weapons, holiday themed items, and a whole new Map. This is Australian Christmas.

Engineer and Pyro have gotten brand new Dr. Gordobot item sets for themselves. Pyro gets the Moonman pack and Engy gets the Brainiac Pack.

They both get a new primary, secondary, melee, hat and misc. items that have a futuristic and alien-like theme. You can check their weapons on the TF2 Wiki.

Christmas time calls for Christmas items, and Valve has created a whole bunch of community items for the holiday season. This also means new crates! There is the new Naughty and Nice crates and keys. The "nice" crates can only be opened with "nice" keys and contain the Australian Christmas items, while the "naughty" crates and keys unlock a class's default weapon with Christmas lights, wrapped around them. There is a chance you can get one with a strange variation and still have a chance to unlock an unusual hat for both.
The biggest part of the update is the whole new control points map named Foundry.

Just a standard control points map, however there are 12 new achievements, all related to this map AND if you get 7 of them you unlock the new "Full Head of Steam" hat for all classes. If you want to be part of the festivities, then update TF2 on Steam right now before Australian Christmas is over.

Manniversary Update First Thought

October 14, 2011 1 comments

Yesterday Valve released the Manniversary update, in which they celebrate the one year anniversary of the Mann Co. Store. The update included several things that included the Steam Workshop (a place where content made by the community can be submitted), new hats, a sale on some of the items in the Mann Co. Store, a new map, some fixes, extra misc. slots, loud-out presets and some new items.

Honestly, the only cool thing about the update was some of the new hats, the extra misc. slot and the load-out presets. I haven't played on the new map yet, but Gullywash was community made and it's not being backed up by Valve.

Gullywash

As for the hats and items, I kind of thought that there were going to be weapons, I don't know why I was expecting that, but it sure would've been better than some of the hats. In my opinion, none of them really interests me besides the Birdcage, the Cremator's Conscience, the Crocodile Smile and Your Worst nightmare; the Demoman pirate set is alright, but it's nothing I'd give all my refined for, I'd rather wait for drops or something.

Players also received the Manniversary Paper Hat by just launching TF2, it's probably one of my favorite free hats Valve has given us.

Another great thing about the Manniversary Update is that we now got the promised two miscellaneous slots we were promised, but Valve also threw in a something else in the mix for us - pre-load out slots; this is probably my favorite thing from the update. What this does though is that for each class you are given four different slots, A, B, C and D, and in those slots you can save whatever load outs you want. Let's take my Sniper for example, my A load out is my Hawkeye themed load out in which he has the Genuine Anger, the Huntsman, Jarate and Tribalman's Shiv whereas his B load out is my Arabian Nights with the Desert Marauder, Bazaar Bargain and Shahanshah.

Unfortunately you can't officially name them, I wish you could do that. I'm trying to get my Pyro to have a Thor and Ghost Rider theme; I renamed the Powerjack "Mjolnir" and I'm trying to get an Unusual Pyromancer's Mask with flames. Check out some of my favorite load outs though:

 Down Under Sniper

This would be my Ghost Rider Pyro

 The Last Scottish King

 Golfing Demo

 Dr Nemesis Medic

Pew Pew Soldier

This new feature is mainly for those who care more about the items and hats of Team Fortress 2 as opposed to those who enjoyed the game because of it's gameplay value; I enjoy TF2 for it's gameplay, but this is still a cool thing.

There are other new things included in the update as well, but I really haven't gotten the chance to use them, like the picket sign that allows to make decals for it, I want to try it but I don't have a picket sign.

The update isn't the best update Valve has given us; some of the hats are meh, I wish there were weapons, the picket sign I could most likely live without, and the aftermath of it is horrible. Usually when Valve releases a big update it gets buggy, it happens, its no big deal, but this time it's to the point where I have crashed every 10 minutes and to where my chat box is bugged; I'm not the only one experiencing these problems also, there are others who are crashing and having major bugs. I feel like I wasted time selling all my Strange weapons, but at least I have eleven refined metals for some of the hats/miscellaneous items I want, maybe I can gather more to get keys or buds for my Pyro Unusual I want. I hope the Halloween update will be better.

Team Fortress 2 Gets The Manniversary Update

October 13, 2011 0 comments

New hats for Team Fortress 2 have been rumored for awhile, I was skeptical at first, but I crafted metal just in case it happened and it has happened! Today the Manniversary update has come out for Team Fortress 2 that includes hats, items, maps and other goodies.

This update is pretty huge, we got items, one hat for each class, more misc. slots, the high-five taunt along with fixes and much more.

If I were you guys, I'd consider checking out the TF2 Wiki for all the new stuff that was added, and also check out the main TF2 site for a more detailed look at what was released.

Later today I'll have to give this whole new update a try, I'm sure the Steam servers are going to overload. Once I get to it, I'll give you guys an update to what this update offers players.

Look At My Hats!

September 10, 2011 1 comments

After a couple of hours of failing trades after failing trades, I decided to show off some of my collections for my TF2 characters. Most of these pictures I took are my actual set-up, some aren't my actual set up since I don't play them as much, such as the Engineer, Spy and Heavy.

I just uncrated the Milkman the other day

The Milkman is cool, but it isn't as awesome as my Drably Olive Troublemaker's Tossle Cap, my first hat for my Scout

This is my "Oh shit I'm in trouble" Soldier set up where I leech health with my Black Box and if I have taken too much trouble, I run away via my Equilizer as I sport my Chieftain's Challenge which I got my trading my Team Captain (that's when I didn't know how much the Team Captain was really worth).

I got the Pyromancer's Mask just recently and the Vintage Stockbroker's Scarf brings the whole outfit together. For my weapon set up, I usually light my enemies up, airblast them into a wall and start beating on them with "Mjolnir".

My Pyro with "Mjolnir"
I have an Unusual Confetti Rimmed Raincatcher, but I honestly like my Prince Tavish's Crown more which I also just found in a drop yesterday. I usually use Demo as my mess around class with my Demo Knighting. But if I'm playing a serious game as him, I go with all his default weapons.

Heavy isn't a class I play much, but I equip him with his stylish Hound Dog that I uncrated a couple of days ago as he munches on his Sandvich. I usually go with his bear claws and Brass Beast when I play as him.

Engineer is another class I don't play as, but he's pretty much my Vintage class. The Vintage Texas Ten Gallon was the first hat I ever got. My Engineer is  my "gonna toy with you" class. I lay down my mini-sentry and go do what I gotta do as my enemy is distracted by my mini sentry.

I call my Medic "Dr. Nemesis" named after Dr. Nemesis from X-Men. I need white paint for my Physician's Procedure Mask to make it better and it would be also a lot more better if my Vintage Vintage Tyrolean didn't have the feather.

Sniper is my pride, all the hats I love are equipped to him (Vintage Professional's Panama, Vintage Trophy Belt, Anger, Desert Marauder and Ol' Snaggletooth). I traded someone for the Genuine Anger, and I don't regret it at all.  I painted it with Zepheniah's Greed in the mean time until I get either Noble Hatter's Violet or A Deep Commitment to Purple.

I just got the Desert Marauder a while ago when I combined my Refined Metal, I like the hat but it looks a bit weird on my Sniper.

This is my second favorite Sniper hat, every once in awhile I'll wear the whole Crock-o-Style Kit with my Sydney Sleeper, Darwin's Danger Shield, Bushwaka and Ol' Snaggletooth.

The reason I want A Deep Commitment to Purple or Noble Hatter's Violet is for this loadout. I want to make a Hawkeye themed setup for my Sniper. I'd probably rename my Anger to "Hawkeye Hooded Mask" or something like that, and get another Huntsman and rename it "Trick Shot Arrows"

Where's my Spy?!

Oh, there he is, just being cloaked is all. I don't play Spy much, but this is my oldest look for any of my classes. I normally have the Revolver, I don't even know when I changed it. I got my Vintage Camera Beard when everyone got one, I had two and I traded it before it become Vintage. But I really love how it goes with my Bill's Hat.

I really love how much you can change your classes items in TF2, and I especially love my Sniper's set up; I really want an Unusual for him, possibly the Larrikin Robin, I would love to have that on my Sniper. I'm really trying to get my hats to be Marvel themed, but I am not that great when it comes to stuff like that. So if you guys have any ideas, I'm all ears.
