Crytek Shows Off CryEngine 3

Yesterday video game developer Crytek decided to show off their visually nice and recently updated CryEngine 3.

CryEngine 3 receives a DirectX 11 upgrade which gives the engine incredibly nice textures. CryEngine 3 also have an improved AI system along with other upgraded goodies.

It is also safe to assume that since Crysis 3 is coming out soon that it will be using CryEngine 3.Check out the video below to see the game engine in action.

Crytek Is Giving Flash 11 A Try Now

After Epic Games showed off the Unreal Engine running in Flash, developers Crytek is looking to do that same thing for their game engine - CryEngine 3.

"It is an interesting approach we’ve been investigating as well," says Carl Jones, director of global business development for CryEngine. "We're developing a unifying technology to create high quality social and gaming experiences on all platforms including browser, smartphones, tablets, etc. We hope to be able to tell you more about it soon when we present our truly cross-platform solution."


Crytek says that their engine will be more impressive than how Unreal Engine 3 makes Gears of War look in Flash.

Crysis 2 Trailer

Seems like Crytek did an excellent job on their next big project, I'm amazed by how well they upped the Unreal engine. And the new abilities you get, like the sliding, looks like Crytek is bringing something new to the table. If I have left over money, I'm totally adding this to my shelf. I honestly thought that Crysis 2 was to come out later on in this year, but it comes out March 22nd.
