So a bit of wholly depressing news came out today about the upcoming World War Z movie. Instead of it being like the book itself, where Max Brooks (because it's him in the book, yes) goes around interviewing survivors of the Zombie War, we're going to get this:
"The story revolves around United Nations employee Gerry Lane (Pitt), who traverses the world in a race against time to stop the Zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatening to decimate humanity itself. Enos plays Gerry’s wife Karen Lane; Kertesz is his comrade in arms, Segen."
That's right foks, the amazing novel is being turned into just another cookie-cutter zombie movie. Words cannot express how disappointed I am in this news. I love the book. Its actually one of my favorites. Max Brooks really took the time to write a very convincing tale of how people would be effected by such an event. In fact, for those of you who haven't read it, the zombies are really just a vehicle to show the human condition. Just like The Walking Dead, its the people that make the stories interesting, not the zombies. This is why Max Brooks really should have written the script. I guess I'll just weep in the corner...

Why must Hollywood do that? I would love to see World War Z the way it was written. It's like you said, where The Walking Dead focuses more on the people and their survival instead of just showing zombie after zombie after zombie, that's why I really love The Walking Dead.
