Rev Up Your Chainsaws For This New Lollipop Chainsaw Trailer

October 31, 2011 0 comments

It has been awhile since we have heard anything regarding Lollipop Chainsaw, so luckily Suda51 has released a new trailer that reminds one of B-list movie that could have been directed by Quentin Tarantino.

The new trailer gives us more input on what the story is about, well there wasn't much said besides that a crazy old man on top of a book shelf tells Julia, the chainsaw totin' cheerleader, that the school has been turned into zombies and she has to cure them.

The game itself looks like it's going to be enjoyable, but I don't think it would be for your kids or your grandma and anyone who is squeamish.  Seriously, this game is going to be full of everything your mother told you to stay away from: girls, chainsaws, blood and all that good stuff.

Halo: Combat Evolved HD Remake Launch Trailer

In this day of age old games are being remade to be on par with today's graphics, which is why 343 Industries is remaking Halo: Combat Evolved in an HD format.

I enjoyed the first Halo, the other ones, not so much, besides Halo: Reach of course. I might get the HD remake of Combat Evolved after it's release date od November 15, just so I can get it used or wait till it drops down in price, because there is no way I'm spending $60 on a remake.

Serious Sam 3: BFE's Weapons Are Crazy Good

Serious Same 3: BFE is a game full of weapons and gore...tons and tons of gore. If this game doesn't put hair on your chest, then I don't know what will. Devolver Digital has released a trailer for their upcoming FPS showing Sam's arsenal of weapons that he will be using to rip through Mental's forces.

Serious Sam 3: BFE is planned to be released on November 22.

A Raccoon And A Photographer Walks Into A Bar..

To start off the new week, Capcom has finally released the last and long awaited character trailers for Frank West and Rocket Raccoon showing off their fighting styles with cameras and napalm.

Frank West from Dead Rising looks like he's going to be cheap in terms of his camera attack cancels your enemies attacks, as noted in his fight with Storm. Nothing really excites me about him.

Rocket Raccoon was probably the most hyped character between him and Frank West, because honestly, a talking raccoon from another planet with a giant arsenal and saves the universe from cosmic destruction is much more interesting than a photographer in the zombie apocalypse. The thing most people were wondering when it came to Rocket Raccoon was his voice, and I will say that I was not expecting it at all; I like it, but I kind of wish it was a bit different, I had a feeling it was going to be British. Gameplay wise, I think Rocket Raccoon is going to be another character that will be annoying to go against, he is a keep-a-way character like Arthur, and he can evade attacks with his burrowing.

We have 16 more days until the release of Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, all characters have been announced. Now it's time for me to pick my team(s) based off these videos.

Selected GameStop Stores Sells Android Tablets

October 28, 2011 1 comments

GameStop didn't stop at selling Apple devices, they are now starting to sell Android based tablets at selected GameStop stores.

According to Wall Street Journal, GameStop has started to sell Android tablets today, only 200 GameStop retailers are doing this so far. They don't stop there though, GameStop will also be offering wireless controllers to control a hand few of the tablets they are selling for $39.

If these 200 stores are successful in selling the tablet, GameStop will allow tablets to be sold at other GameStop locations next year, if it's not successful then they will stop selling the Android tablets.

The Defenders #1 Preview

The Defenders are once again rejoicing as the events of Fear Itself proved that the world will need them. Namor, Dr. Strange, Red She-Hulk, Iron Fist, Namor and Silver Surfer will be banding together to save the world from ultimate destruction starting December 7th written by Matt Fraction and penciled by Terry Dodson.

The only thing I'm concerned about is Matt Fraction doing the writing, after reading Fear Itself and The Almighty Thor, my liking of his writing has gone way down. I'll still give The Defenders a read though.

Activision has released a launch trailer for it's upcoming remake of GoldenEye 007 since GoldenEye 007: Reloaded will be coming out on November 1st. The trailer shows off the games more enhanced graphics and gameplay.

Honestly, I might have to get the game, I'm pretty sure I can have fun with it considering I got bored the first time I played it.

Next 3DS Update Allows Demos And Ann-Ons

An update for the 3DS will coming out in the next month that allows players to play demos and download add-ons for certain games.

Publishers will be able to put demo versions of their games in order for players to try, Nintendo is also allowing add-on content for 3DS games via the eShop. According to Satoru Iwata, president of Nintendo, "This is a feature a number of software creators have been looking forward to." I wasn't expecting Nintendo to allow add-ons for games considering that their stance on DLC isn't very high.

Lord Of The Rings: War In The North Launch Trailer

In just over a week, Warner Bros. and Snowblind Studios will be releasing The Lord of the Rings: War in the North, an RPG based around the events that took place in the northern lands of Middle-Earth. A launch trailer for the game has been released and it does look really good, I've never played anything done by Snowblind as far as I know.

If I do get War in the North, it might be a while since I get it since Uncharted 3 is coming out the same day, which is November 1st for those that don't know.

This Price Tag For Arkham City Desregards The Official Price

The internet is known for having crazy deals, that's why Dealzon is selling Batman Arkham City for $42.34 for the PlayStation 3 version. If you haven't gotten the game yet, act fast and get it from this site; there is only $2.95 in shipping. This most likely won't even last long, so go!

Second Disc Of Modern Warfare 3 Was Stolen

It seams like one person was desperate enough to get their hands on Modern Warfare 3 before it comes out November 8th.

An unknown assailant was able to steal the second disc of Modern Warfare 3 from a shipping facility in Fresno, California. It's not known exactly who the thief was besides that he was an employee at the place. The employee was crafty enough to put the game online as a torrent, so you can just image how many people are playing a portion of the game right now. Activision has a plan for that also; investigators are being sent to pirates' houses demanding that they either delete the game or face a fine.

Seems like Activision isn't going to take this lying down at all.

Ace Attorney Live Action Movie Hits Japan This February

October 27, 2011 0 comments

For those who like Ace Attorney so much that they can't wait for a live action movie of the game, you should all rejoice and head over to Japan on February 11, 2012 for that's when the Japanese live action Ace Attorney movie will be hitting theaters.

If you have the patience or don't have the money to fly down to Japan just for that, then I'm sure there will eventually be a subtitled version of the movie, but it might not be official since Capcom has not announced a translated version or a U.S. release anytime soon.

I've never played Ace Attorney, so I don't know if this is ridiculously bad in some Duke Nukem way or actually be good. Supposedly though the director, Takashi Miike, is beloved for the films he has directed in the past, so it might be good.

There Might Already Be DLC On The Uncharted 3 Disc

It seems like some gamers couldn't wait to get their hands on Uncharted 3, which comes out this Tuesday, so some were able to obtain the game through some lucky way. And with human's curiosity, some of those people have searched through the game disc and discovered that some DLC might already be on the disc.

One of the things found were some skins for the Uncharted 3 Multiplayer called Wetsuit Drake, Cameraman Jeff and Nepal Chloe. DualShockers believe that the skins are on the disc due to the fact that there a preview images for the skins.

Nintendo Lost More Money Than Expected

If you read the "Short But Sweet News" section on the right of the blog, you might have noticed that Nintendo was expected to have a total loss of ¥100 billion ($1.31 billion) for half the year of 2011. Today Nintendo found out that it was more than expected.

The actual number of money lost this year was ¥107 billion. That's not even the worse of it though, Nintendo is predicting another ¥20 billion for the fiscal year, which ends in March 2012. The reason to this much loss of money is due to the exchange rate changing according to Nintendo.

The exchange rate isn't the only reason why Nintendo is doing bad, it is also do to a lack of hardware sales, which is honestly no surprise there considering how bad the 3DS sold. Even the price cut for the 3DS didn't help much, it did improve sales, but it wasn't enough unfortunately.

Killing Floor Halloween Sideshow Event

It wouldn't be Killing Floor if there wasn't a Halloween Event with another spooky Sideshow Event that comes packed with achievements, new bad guys and some costumes.

The Halloween Sideshow Event brings back Abusement Park for players to get slaughtered in, the map also brings back the old Summer achievements just for those who missed out on them and get Steampunk Mr. Foster.

Bringing back an old map isn't the special thing about the Halloween Sideshow Event, a new map will be introduced called Bedlam and brings seven new achievements to gain. And once again the critters of Killing Floor will be getting new skins that matches the event; there will be Strange Little Goblins, FrankenPound, Pumpkin, Were-Bunny and Angel And A Devil.

I'm going to be busy in between Team Fortress 2's update and Killing Floor's, either wya I'm going to be having one hell of a time. Oh, did I also mention that you can unlock a character dressed up as a giant yellow chicken in Killing Floor? You have until now, october 27th, until November 1st to try to unlock it, so go now!

It's the event of the year where Mario and his gang go against Sonic and his team in the London 2012 Olympic games. Heads will smash and legs will be broken as players will compete in soccer, beach volleyball and badminton, maybe I'm over exaggerating with the amount of extremeness that's in the game.  Mario & Sonic At The Londond 2012 Olympic Games will be available on the Wii on November 15, 2011 and on February 2012 for the 3DS.

    Check Out Nightwing's Moves

Playing as Nightwing is the next Arkham City DLC to come out and he's bringing some new gadgets, fighting style, a new skin and exclusive maps. His arsenal includes escrima sticks, wrist darts and advanced offensive devices (which is fancy for baterangs). The DLC will also include the Animated Series skin for Night wing and two maps - Wayne Manor and Main Hall. The DLC will be available to purchase November 1st.

I still don't like Dick's design, so I'll probably just be playing as animated series Nightwing; I do like his gadgets though, now I get to tase those inmates that also tased me.

Sony Registers Assassin Creed Movie Domains

It seems like Ubisoft really is interested in making an Assassin's Creed movie, especially since Sony has already registered the following domains:

    • assassins-creed-movie.com
    • assassins-creed.net
    • assassins-creedmovie.com
    • assassinscreed-film.com
    • assassinscreed-film.net
    • assassinscreed-movie.com
    • assassinscreed-movie.net
    • assassinscreed-thefilm.com
    • assassinscreed-thefilm.net
    • assassinscreed-themovie.com
    • assassinscreed-themovie.net
    • assassinscreedfilm.com
    • assassinscreedfilm.net
    • assassinscreedthefilm.com
    • assassinscreedthefilm.net
    • assassinscreedthemovie.net

This isn't actual confirmation, this could be Sony just taking the domains just in case they do make a movie and they already have the domain ready for it. It would be nice to see a film adaptation of Assassin's Creed though.

Play the original Sonic the Hedgehog in Generations

      October 23, 2011 0 comments

I know the title sounds confusing cause we already know about playing classic Sonic. But I mean that you can even play the original 1991 Sonic the Hedgehog game in Generations.

The game will be available via unlock, possibly by beating the game.

As bonus news those who pre-purchase Sonic Generations on Steam will receive Sonic 3D Blast and Sonic 3 and Knuckles. While 3D blast wasn't that good of a game S3&K will definitely be worth the purchase. Generations will be available November 1st.

      Batman: Arkham City Review

For the past few days I have been submerged in fighting inmates, solving riddles, gliding around and saving the world from Protocol 10 implicated by a crazy psychologist. Batman Arkham City is probably one of the best game I have ever played just because I can do all of that and more.

When it comes to playing as a character that has a stash of gadgets that can do a vast amount of things, he's going to need an entire city to use all of that with no limitations but instead you get part of a city with no limitations, which is just as great. The openness of the game was incredible, you can do what you want there, I can't even state how much fun I had. Throughout half of the game I didn't know that dive bombing then pulling up would give me more speed and altitude, but once I found that out I had so much more fun than I initially did. I would try different tactics on unsuspecting inmates in Arkham City, whether it be sneaking behind them or glide kicking their faces into the cement, either way it's fun.

The gadgets definitely made the game, they all change the style of the game and how you want to go about taking the bad guys out. The gadgets allows you to either create an advantage point above a group of inmates and drop kick them from above, freeze one or multiple enemies, pull a weapon out of the hands of inmates, stun them with batarangs or electrical charges and then there's disrupting their guns without them knowing which then makes them confused on why their guns aren't working. The inmates aren't the only things you use the gadgets on, there are parts where you need them in order to go further into the game. For example, there is one part in the game where you need to cross sewage water, but for some reason Batman is like Spider-Man in his games and can't swim, so what you need to do is throw down an ice grenade and it will create a little ice raft for you in which you use your bat claw to pull yourself to safety.

With all of the gadgets and open worldliness, I forget that there is a story line. The story was just as great, especially the ending. I'm not going to give anything away, but the ending was amazing, it was something you would not suspect at all; it left me with my jaw dropped. The whole story had you jumping from place to place, meeting villain after villain. The whole spectrum of villains introduced were great, I noticed some and the others I didn't even know who they were.

Even if you beat the game, which is supposedly ten hours of gameplay, there is still so much for you to do. There is a handful of side missions you can still do in order to get 100%, and one of those handful contains a vast amount of trophy finding and riddle solving. The Riddler was the fun part in Arkham Asylum and it still is in Arkham City. I spent most of the time trying to solve the riddles and find the trophies, event if it meant to get sidetracked from the main storyline. I have yet to complete all the Riddler's riddles and I haven't done the challenge maps yet, so I still have a long way to go in order to fully complete the game.

The Catwoman parts of the game were definitely different than Batman's. The overall feel of playing as her took me a few minutes to get use to. Her arsenal is very limited and different than the Dark Knight's infinite amount of gadgets. She was different to play as but still fun nonetheless, I really enjoyed how she pretty much moved like a cat.

The only real complaint I have with the game is sometimes the animations weren't coinciding with the controls that I would input. I would tell Batman to counter, and he would either just stand there are continue to punch or when I would tell him to zip line to a gargoyle or edge of the building, he wouldn't do it. Other than that, Arkham City was one superb game; the difficulty of the game was just perfect, it wasn't too easy and it wasn't too hard also. Rocksteady did an incredible job with everything - the story, the characters and the overall fun the game brought. Mark Hamil will also be missed as the Joker, this was another fine role he played as the deranged clown.
