Kazuo Hirai Says No PlayStation 4 Information At E3

January 11, 2012 0 comments

A few days ago MCV was convinced that Microsoft and Sony was going to announce new consoles at E3 this year alongside the Wii U. Well today Kazuo Hirai, Representative Corporate Executive Officer and Executive Deputy President of Sony, put half of that rumor to rest.

Hirai has reported that there are no plans for Sony to release a console anytime soon.

“I’ve always said a 10-year life cycle for PS3, and there is no reason to go away from that," says Hirai at the Consumer Electronic Show.

There you have it, Sony will not be releasing any information about a console this year, but Microsoft is still uncounted for for their rumored console.

Next Gen Xbox Might Be Hard At Work

October 10, 2011 0 comments

There is no official announcement that Microsoft is working hard on their next generation Xbox console, but there are talks about the internet going about saying that people have already been hired by Microsoft to start working on the next console.

Linkedin, a proffesional business-related social network, has four regulators on their site with current job descriptions that definitely look like they're working on a new Xbox.

These aren't for sure things, but it's close to something at least.

Star Wars-Xbox 360 announced

July 21, 2011 0 comments

Today at comic-con, Microsoft just announced a new, limited edition Star Wars Xbox 360 bundle pack.

The console is modeled after the famous droid R2D2 with a blue/silver trimming and even makes his iconic sounds while activating it and opening the disc tray and will have a 320 GB hard-drive. The controller is modeled after his companion C3PO with copper gold casing, wireless capabilities and the new-and-improved d-pad. The bundle will also include a white colored kinect peripheral and two kinect games: Kinect Star Wars and Kinect Adventures.

The Whole bundle will be released this year in Fall for $449.99.

While the console and controller look awesome 450 dollars is too steep for me, even with a huge hard-drive, kinect and two games especially since I would never use the kinect peripheral, But this is a must have for any collector.

Nintendo Press Conference - Wii U to Luigi's Mansion 2

June 7, 2011 0 comments

Nintendo stole the whole damn show at E3 today with its mounds of announcements and news; they single handedly gave more news than anyone has this year with games such as Luigi's Mansion 2, Mario Kart 3DS, a new Super Smash Bro. for the 3DS and the Wii U.

The Wii U is Nintendo's new console name, hopefully they're not sticking with it, with an unique eye brow raising design.

I'm not too sure which Zelda game this is from, obviously it looks like Twilight Princess but it doesn't look too familiar.

The new console sure is an interesting way of gaming, but will this stop all the Nintendo hate? Maybe this will give Nintendo a chance to have originality to their games as opposed to their consoles; 3rd party developers are already partnering up with Nintendo and have already made games such as Arkham City and Metro Last Light for their new console. It finally seems like Nintendo will be up to par with the other consoles in this new age of gaming; sure people want old but new, but thats kind of difficult to do in this new gaming era, so I believe Nintendo is doing their best and will be successful. Games were also announced for during the conference; a new Luigi's Mansion will be coming out for the 3DS (wish it were for the Wii though) a new Mario Kart for the 3DS and a few other 3DS titles. One announced game though got the audience going: Super Smash Bros. A new Super Smash Bro. will be coming out for the 3DS AND the Wii U; both systems will be capable of allowing shared gaming for the game, supposedly.

Nintendo had a very big announcement, and they did a nice job executing it; their new console is innovating and gives them a chance to mend wounds with gamers with their 3rd party development possibilities.
