Star Wars: 1313 Announced

June 1, 2012 0 comments

Today Lucasfilm has announced the newest Star Wars game and the "Star Wars 1313" that they trademarked is extremely relevant since the game is called Star Wars: 1313.

Lucasfilm is describing the game as a "third person cinematic action adventure" that allows the player to follow the story of an unnamed Bounty Hunter that is a "ruthless criminal underground deep below the surface of the planet of Coruscant".

Not much information has been released for the game besides some concept art and the game's plot, which follows:

Named for Level 1313, a ruthless criminal underground deep below the surface of the planet of Coruscant, the game puts players in control of a deadly bounty hunter as he uses an arsenal of exotic weaponry to hunt down his marks and uncover the truth surrounding a criminal conspiracy.  Star Wars 1313 emphasizes epic set pieces and fast-paced combat with a hero who uses human skills and gadgets, rather than supernatural Force powers, to make his way through this dangerous world.

Don't forget to catch the trailer for Star Wars: 1313 coming out on Monday, June 4.

New Star Wars Game To Be Shown Off This Month

May 25, 2012 0 comments

Today Lucasfilm has announced that they will be showing off a new Star Wars related game this month on Gametrailers.

On Thursday, May 31, Gametrailers will be showing off what the new game is and then on June 4, footage of some gameplay will be shown off.

Rumor going around is that the game will be about the one and only Boba Fett. A trademark has been filed by Lucasfilm this month that hints to the game revolving around the bounty hunter. Lucasfilm trademarked "Star Wars 1313" and in the novel Boba Fett: Maze of Deception, Boba Fett has used the alias CT-1313.

Live Action Star Wars Finally Given A Name - Star Wars: Underwold

January 10, 2012 0 comments

For quite some time, a Star Wars live action TV series has been planned (when I say quite some time I mean for a few years). At first I was afraid that the whole idea was canned, but now today we have more information about the project that is in current development still.

IGN was able to have a talk with Rick McCallum, producer of The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles and Star Wars: Trilogy Special Edition, where he explains that the series is on hold but a working title has been announced - Star Wars: Underworld.

Budget has been a major role in which why the live action version has not been released yet, McCallum explains how LucasFilms has to spend a lot of money for weekly one hour episodes as much as they did for each film.

New Star Wars Series to Reveal the Origins of the Jedi Order

November 21, 2011 0 comments

Dark Horse will be releasing a brand new Star Wars comic series that will finally show insight to how the Jedi Order came to be, something thats never been explored in the entire Star Wars Universe.

The Jedis were always my favorite part of the Star Wars series but I never realized how they came to be, so this will definitely be a pick up for me. Dark Horse has released a small tease of the background for the story.

"On the planet Tython, in the center of the galaxy, an order of warrior monks strives to maintain peace and to balance the mysterious power known as the Force. But a stranger is coming--one who will destroy both peace and balance, and open the galaxy to exploration and conquest. This is where it all begins! John Ostrander and Jan Duursema of Star Wars: Legacy fame reveal the mythic age of the Jedi's beginnings!"

When can you get your hands on the comic? The new series is scheduled to be released February 15th of next year. The new series has yet to be given a title.

Star Wars Games On Sale On Steam This Weekend Only

September 16, 2011 0 comments

If you thought Steam's free Portal was crazy, then you should sit down for this. Well, actually, maybe you shouldn't since it's pretty well known that Steam always has game sales. Anyways though, Steam is having a sale on their Star Wars Collection this whole weekend, from today till Monday at 10 A.M.

If you have money to spend, you can buy the whole collection for 50% off with the final price being $49.99, which isn't too shabby at all.

You can also pick up these titles for 50% off also:

  • Star Wars: Knight of the Old Republic
  • Star Wars Battlefront II
  • Star Wars Republic Commando
  • Star Wars Empire at War: Gold Pack

Get these while you can, they are all pretty much worth it. I'm not too sure about Knights of the Old Republic though since it's extremely glitchy with no patches in site at all.

Ewoks Gain Eyelids In The New Star Wars Blu-Ray

September 5, 2011 0 comments

When I first saw that Star Wars was being released on Blu-Ray, I was giddy for joy and ready to throw my money at George Lucas like any other disappointed Star Wars fan. After seeing the "special" changes, I don't think I will be buying the re-re-re-enhanced versions any time soon.

There are a heavy amount of changes supposedly, but only a hand full has been released already. Let's start off with one of the worst changes in the movie. In A New Hope, Obi-Wan scared off a group of Tusken Raiders with his Krayt Dragon call while they rummaged through Luke's Landspeeder; the sound sounded awesome, it was a unique sounding call, but now, not it just sounds like a flamboyant guy  screeching with an echo.

In the same scene, more rocks have been added in front of R2-D2. The question is though, how did he get into that formation? It looks like a tight squeeze to get into.

A Dug has also been digitally added into Jabba's palace

Still dealing with Jabba's Palace, his front door has been edited to look much larger than it originally was.

In Return of the Jedi, a second "NOOO!" has been added for Darth Vader has he picks up the Emperor to throw him down a shaft.

Han Solo fans will like this one, it's been made that Han still shoots first.

Now for the grand finale, Ewoks are now given the ability to moisturize their eyes via their eyelids (they get to blink now!)

These are just a few of what Lucas has in store for his new release of Star Wars, I'll keep you guys updated once I find out more enhances.

EA Shows Off Gameplay For Star Wars: The Old Republic

August 16, 2011 0 comments

During EA's press conference at Gamescom today, EA showed off gameplay footage of BioWare's upcoming Star Wars: The Old Republic in which eight Imperial players tried out one of the game's instances in which they had to get into the Eternity Vault.

The gameplay and varieties that the classes have are amazing. And seeing the players use great teamwork makes me want to get the game with some friends and go through instances smoothly.

July 21, 2011 0 comments

No one wants to wait for a game to come out, everyone wants to get their hands on some early access gaming, that's why BioWare is offering beta testing of Star Wars: The Old Republic starting this September.

The beta will only be for selected players, and they will get a chance to see a sneak peak of most of the content The Old Republic has to offer. In order to be illegible for beta testing, all you need to do is apply online at the official website and prey that you get in.

BioWare co-founder, Ray Muzyka, has stated that The Old Republic will be the "biggest launches of holiday 2011." which hints that there's finally an estimated release date.

Star Wars-Xbox 360 announced

Today at comic-con, Microsoft just announced a new, limited edition Star Wars Xbox 360 bundle pack.

The console is modeled after the famous droid R2D2 with a blue/silver trimming and even makes his iconic sounds while activating it and opening the disc tray and will have a 320 GB hard-drive. The controller is modeled after his companion C3PO with copper gold casing, wireless capabilities and the new-and-improved d-pad. The bundle will also include a white colored kinect peripheral and two kinect games: Kinect Star Wars and Kinect Adventures.

The Whole bundle will be released this year in Fall for $449.99.

While the console and controller look awesome 450 dollars is too steep for me, even with a huge hard-drive, kinect and two games especially since I would never use the kinect peripheral, But this is a must have for any collector.

Star Wars: The Old Republic Box Art and Collector's Edition Rumor

July 19, 2011 0 comments

There's a rumor going around that the Star Wars: The Old Republic's box art and Collector's Edition information has been leaked along with the supposed pre-order date, which is July 21st. The Collector's Edition includes:

  • Dath Malgus statue designed by Gentle Giant
  • Star Wars: The Old Republic game disks in collectible metal case
  • The Journal of Master Gnost-Dural annotate by Satele Shan
  • Old Republic galaxy map
  • Custom Security Authentication Key
  • Exclusive Music of Star Wars: The Old Republic CD
  • High Quality Collector's Edition Box

Included with that are 7 digital items:

  • Flare Gun: Fires flares into the air
  • Training Droid: Hovers at your side for combat assistance
  • HoloDancer: Project your own holographic dancer
  • HoloCam: Keep visual records of in-game adventures
  • STAP: Sleek and unique in-game vehicle
  • Exlusive Mouse Droid: Spun-ky droid to join your adventures
  • Exclusive Collector's Edition Store: Unique in-game vendor with a dynamic assortment of items

The price was supposedly leaked also, now make sure you're sitting down right now, because all this will cost you $220. If this is real, oh I hope this is, then this is going to be the one Collector's Edition I'd want. Screw the Arkham City one, this is the one that I would put down all my money for; I don't even care if there's a subscription cost for The Old Republic - which still hasn't been announced yet.

BioWare will announce something at Comic Con this year, and this might be what the announcement is and I'm just hoping that this is one rumor that's true. Here's the box art for the game also:

Star Wars on Blu-Ray

May 4, 2011 0 comments

The big Star Wars news from yesterday has been announced today. As everyone pretty much expected, Lucasfilms is releasing the complete Saga on Blu-Ray on September 12 this year that will include 9 discs with the movies and special features.

Once I get enough money, I'll be forced to throw my money at Lucas. Speaking of the price, the price is suppose to be $139.99, but Amazon is selling it for $89.99 right now, saving you $50.

May The 4th Be With You

May 3, 2011 0 comments

Over at this Star Wars website, there is a countdown going on and will reach 0 tomorrow on "May The 4th Be With You" day that will lead into an announcement. No one is quite sure what the announcement is, but some people are speculating a Blu-ray 3D complete saga movie set. If this is true, then I will be a sucker and buy it, which will probably cost quite a lot for me. But hey, it might not be a movie, it might be a new game or something. Either way, we'll find out tomorrow.

Qui-Gon Back In Action

February 11, 2011 0 comments

Obi-Wan's former master gets to star in his own mini series coming this May in Star Wars: Jedi – The Dark Side. This new 5 issue series takes place 20 years before Phantom Menace. Since not much is known around Qui-Gon, and that not much work has been done with him, this gives the writers the room to develop him a lot more. There will be some new characters, and some well known characters will be returning. Go ahead and take a gander at the article I posted for you, it seems like it will be an interesting comic. Dark Horse does really good jobs on their Star Wars comics.

Star Wars: Clone Wars 3.5

December 16, 2010 0 comments

Holy hell, it looks like this show is getting better. I'm behind on this show, but I'm trying to catch up. I'm finishing up season 2 at the moment. All I know is that season 3 has Delta Squad (If I remember correctly) would be better if Omega Squad was in it though. I also know that Ahsoka and other characters are suppose to be older and have new designs. I need to hurry up and catch up with the show cause this trailer looks amazing. And the end of it gave me chills.

Force Unleashed 2 DLC

December 15, 2010 0 comments

Here's an early look at the upcoming Battle for Endor DLC for Force Unleashed 2. Now I doubt this will be good since the game itself was a major disappointment. I always thought that the Force Unleashed was canon, but I guess it isn't since Han Solo dies on here. I'm not even more disappointed.
