Yesterday Russell Crowe was spotted in his Jor-El costume from the set of Man of Steel. Today more on set photos from Man of Steel has surfaced today with Henry Cavill, but he's not dressed up as Superman, he's dressed up as a hobo instead.

Along with new onset photos, there official synopsis for the movie has also been revealed.

In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Cavill) is a young twentysomething journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone’s imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question – Why am I here? Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Costner), Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions. But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as “Superman,” not only to shine as the world’s last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves.

First Glimpse Of Russell Crowe As Jor-El

There haven't been too many onset photos for Man of Steel unlike The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises, so hopefully that will change since pictures of Russell Crowe in his Jor-El get up during filming in Vancouver.

Man of Steel is to hit theatres on June 14, 2013.

Justice League #1 Review

September 2, 2011 0 comments

I just finished up reading the first issue of Justice League from the new DC Universe relaunch, now I don't really know too much when it comes to DC, especially when it comes to heroes personalities. From what I know though, Batman still seems like a jerk, Green Lantern and Superman seem a bit cocky (Green Lantern being extremely cocky).

In this DC Universe, people fear the super heroes that are popping up around the world, so much that they would kill them. The comic starts with Batman chasing down an alien with helicopters gunning at both of them, until Green Lantern shows up and lends Batman a helping green hand. The alien is able to escape into the sewers where Green Lantern and Batman trails it. From there, Lantern goes head on towards the alien as he's planting what the heroes thought was a bomb. Before exploding, the alien spurs out "For Darkseid!" After shielding against the attack, Green Lantern decides that he and Batman should go over to Metropolis to see if another certain alien could be involved - Superman. Once they land where Superman is located and after Green Lantern is a bit cocky, Superman lands a powerful punch onto the space peace keeper.

I like how Geoff Johns made Green Lantern looks like some God like being just by the way he talked, but he got his ass handed to him in every instance, by Batman, the Dark Sied alien and of course Superman. I really thought Green Lantern was a nice guy, especially from the few issues of stuff I have read with him, so I don't know if they are completely changing his character or that he's really like that, either way it's funny to see him like that, even though I like Green Lantern.

Another enjoyable thing was the foreshadowing of Cyborg, Vic Stone, joining the Justice League. Of course though, he just a high school kid on a football team. Cyborg is a character I barely know anything about except for his name and that he was on the Teen Titans, so I'm pretty excited to see him in this Justice League. And the foreshadowing of Darkseid was pretty neat, it sounds like they'll be introducing him real soon.

Overall, this was a pretty good comic for someone just jumping into the DC Universe, it gives readers a fresh start. I really don't know every personality for all the characters, so I really cannot compare to how this is to any previous Justice League comics, but I do like the direction it's going towards. I really can't wait till the next issue, nor can I wait to see what the other 52 comics have in store.

Henry Chavill In His Superman Costume

August 4, 2011 0 comments

A picture of Henry Chavillas Superman has been revealed today for the upcoming Man of Steel movie, which will be directed by Zach Snyder (300, Dawn of the Dead, Watchmen). The costumes looks nice and different, just a bit thought, but it's not too bad. I'm just wondering why people are going with the basketball texture, Andrew Garfield has it and now Superman has it on parts of his costume.

Let's just hope that this won't be one of those "edgy and dark" move that DC is trying to push, like they want for Green Lantern 2.

DC Renumbering All Titles

May 31, 2011 0 comments

DC Comics has announced that they will be renumbering over 50 of their comic titles back to No. 1; their reason for doing such a leap is to bring in new readers. The renumbered comics will be more up to date with current events and more modern costumes.

"In September, more than 50 more first issues will debut, introducing readers to stories that are grounded in each character's specific legend but also reflect today's real-world themes and events. Lee spearheaded the redesign of more than 50 costumes to make characters more identifiable and accessible to comic fans new and old."

"We looked at what was going on in the marketplace and felt we really want to inject new life in our characters and line," says Dan DiDio, who co-publishes DC with Lee. "This was a chance to start, not at the beginning, but at a point where our characters are younger and the stories are being told for today's audience."

The first comic to be renumbered will be Justice League this Summer on August 31st, written by Geoff Johns, the JL will include heroes such as: Aquaman, Batman, Flash, Green Lantern, Superman and Wonder Woman.

This might or might not be a smart move for DC; it gives them a chance to bring in new readers, or it might dissuade current readers and make them feel like they are wasting their time re-reading their favorite heroes. Either way, I am supporting this, just because it finally gives me a chance to jump into the DC Universe. For the past few months I have been trying to start reading more DC comics, starting with Infinite Crisis and trying to catch up. skipping Final Crisis just because I found it so boring. I am currently on the prelude to Darkest Night, and I will try to catch up all the way to Flashpoint. We'll see how all of this turns out soon enough.

DC Event: Flashpoint

January 13, 2011 0 comments

Flashpoint is starting to emerge from the surface since it's announcement last year with 3 teaser pictures. Flashpoint will be about Reverse Flash going back through time and making sure that most super heroes were never created. I don't follow DC too much, since I"m more of a Marvel guy, but I have been following their comics more often lately
People aren't too sure who this is meant for. Speculations have said it was for Superman, but he already has his own picture (see below). And others believe it could be J'onn J'onzz. No one's too sure at the moment.
I'm sure this one is about Bruce Wayne not spending most of his time being Batman and instead keeping his focus on his casino.
Obviously this one has to be Superman since he came to Earth in a spaceship when he was a baby.
