Michael Bay's TMNT Movie Titled Ninja Turtles

A name for Michael Bay's upcoming adaptation for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has finally been decided, which is simply Ninja Turtles. Teenage and Mutant were taken out possibly due to the fact that Bay envisions the turtles as aliens and not mutants.

“Paramount marketing changed the name. They made the title simple,” Bay says on his website. “The characters you all remember are exactly the same, and yes they still act like teenagers. Everything you remember, why you liked the characters, is in the movie. This script is being developed by two very smart writers, with one of the original creators of Ninja Turtles. They care VERY MUCH about making this film for the fans. Everyone on this team cares about the fans. Just give them a chance. Jonathan the director, is a major fan of the whole franchise. HE’S NOT GOING TO LET YOU DOWN.”

Jonathan Liebesman has worked on other films as a director such as Wrath of the Titans and Battles: Los Angeles.

Ninja Turtles Creators Likes What Bay Is Doing

First the actor of Michelangelo, from the first TMNT live-action movie, spoke out against Michael Bay's vision of the turtles being aliens. Then the actors for April O'Neil and Leonardo supported Bay for his idea. Now TMNT co-creator Peter Laird is also supporting Bay.

"I would actually encourage TMNT fans to swallow the 'chill pill' Mr. Bay recently suggested they take, and wait and see what might come out of this seemingly ill-conceived plan," TMNT co-creator Peter Laird wrote on his blog. "It's possible that with enough truly creative brainpower applied to this idea, it might actually work. I'm not saying it's probable, or even somewhat likely… but it IS possible."

Laird isn't the only TMNT creator that is on board with Bay, Kevin Eastman is also supporting Bay's vision as he has stated on his Facebook page.

"Sorry to have been away for so long--completely swamped with work--but it is some pretty exciting stuff," Laird said. "I had been invited to check out the TMNT film development by my friend Scott Mednick over the years, and a while back had a full look behind the curtian at what writers Appelbaum and Nemec, director Liebesman, and producer Bay are doing--and trust me--it IS AWESOME. I'm officially on board, and will share more as I'm allowed... thanks all!"

Michelangelo Against Michael Bay's TMNT Vision, Leonardo For It

If you have not heard, Michael Bay's upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movies has him envisioning the most famed turtles as aliens and not many people are happy about this, especially Michelangelo voice actor Robbie Rist.

TMZ has reported that Rist wrote a letter to Bay explaining his disappointment, which states, "You probably don't know me but I did some voice work on the first set of movies that you are starting to talk about sodomizing. I know believing in mutated talking turtles is kinda silly to begin with but am I supposed to be led to believe there are ninjas from another planet? The rape of our childhood memories continues."

In response to everyone who is not satisfied with the Ninja Turtles being aliens, Bay tells everyone to chill be saying. "Fans need to take a breath, and chill. They have not read the script. Our team is working closely with one of the original creators of Ninja Turtles to help expand and give a more complex back story. Relax, we are including everything that made you become fans in the first place. We are just building a richer world."

Also on TMZ, Brian Tochi and Judith Hoag, who played Leonardo and April O'Neil in the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles live action movie, are on board with Bay's vision.

"If Michael Bay wants to do a different take on the turtles origin story ... Mazel Tov!," says Tochi.

Michael Bay's Ninja Turtles Are Aliens

A new Teen Age Mutant Ninja Turtles live action movie is on it's way to theatres which will be done by the one and only Michael Bay, but his take on the movie will leave fans confused and enraged.

“When you see this movie, kids are going to believe one day these turtles actually do exist when we are done with this movie,” said Bay during his discussion for the Ninja Turtles reboot. “These turtles are from an alien race, and they are going to be tough, edgy, funny and completely loveable.”

The Teenage Mutant Ninja turtles won't be pet turtles that mutated into human sized talking turtles due to radioactive ooze, instead they will be aliens. What about Splinter though? Will he be an alien as well? Unfortunately we won't know until more information is given.
