After many years of working on the Halo series, Creative Director Ryan Payton walks off the project, saying he no longer is excited for the series.
"I had a great run at Microsoft, I don't regret one day of it, but after a few years, there came a point where I wasn't creatively excited about the project anymore. The Halo I wanted to build was fundamentally different, and I don't think I had built enough credibility to see such a crazy endeavor through."
While he believes it wont be a bad game, he believes it's no longer the game he wants. More on his leaving can be seen in the Kotaku interview.
Payton has already created his own studio, Camouflaj and is currently working on two new projects.
The Halo series will be lesser for it but I believe that 343 can still keep it fresh.
