Earlier today BioWare announced that there would be a big new feature in Mass Effect 3, and the new feature was the newly announced multiplayer function. Fans of the Mass Effect series cried out their displeasure about the multiplayer function, saying that it's not needed and that it took away resources from the single player mode. BioWare has eased some of those concerns making some of the rage induced fans looking silly with a more detailed look at the mutiplayer.
BioWare will be adding a four player co-op multiplayer to the game where you and three of your friends take on special multiplayer missions over Xbox Live, PSN or the internet with your PC. There will supposedly be a variety of classes and races players will be able to choose from. Playing with your friends online will also in a way affect your single player campaign, it's not known exactly how it will affect your game though.
The multiplayer addition is not a versus game in anyway, it is instead just a four player co-op multiplayer mode, nothing more and nothing less. Everyone thought the multiplayer was going to be a versus type mode, which is where all the disappointment came from, and now that it's actually a co-op mode the mood for some people have changed.
