Wonder Woman's Origin Gets A Slighty New Addition

October 10, 2011

The New 52 gives a chance to retell stories of famous DC Universe heroes, that's what I thought at first. Not many characters have gotten their origins retold or reimagined, things are about to chance when it comes to that though, especially for Wonder Woman.

In the next couple of issues for Wonder Woman, DC will gradually be telling the story of Diana with some new twists. For those that don't want to be spoiled, then don't continue reading ahead.

Wonder Woman's original origin was that she was made out of clay from the Earth by Hippolyta, who is Diana's mother, so there was no real father. Now, there will be a father for Wonder Woman, which was revealed to be Zeus. It's not known if she will be made out of clay still or not.

I'm glad that they are finally going to the origin stories for the heroes in the DC Universe with the New 52, since that's what I expected to happen. I'm hoping that other writers for some series will go in the direction that Wonder Woman is going and will eventually retell some origins or come up with some new stuff.
