Joker creator and comic book artist and writer, Jerry Robinson, has passed away in his sleep last night at the age of 89.
Robinson was born on New Years Day in New Jersey in 1922; by the age of 17, his interest in comic book writing led him to meet Bob Kane, who created Batman. Robinson worked with Kane in order to develop Batman more as a character, he also helped create the Boy Wonder, Robin. After co-creating Robin, DC comics decided to hire Robinson, where he worked as an artist and writer.
In the 70s, Robinson joined Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster in a struggling battle against DC Comics in order to gain full recognition and compensation as the creators of Superman. During the battle, Robinson organized help with comic artist and rights advocate Neal Adams against DC Comics in order to gain the recognition and compensation. The rally helped and allowed Siegel and Shuster to get what they wanted.
Later in 2004, Robinson was inducted to the Comic Book Hall of Fame.
