Chronicle Director Possibly Taking On Venom Movie

March 7, 2012 0 comments

It seems like Sony is finally moving forward with their Spider-Man spinoff movie - Venom.

Being talked about since 2008, Sony is planning to revive the Venom movie, but with some new additions and some greatly needed cuts.

Chronicle director, Josh Tank, is rumored to be the one who will direct Venom; luckily he won't be directing Topher Grace for he will not be returning as the role of Eddie Brock/Venom. Also, there will be new writers working on the script.

Venom will supposedly focus around venom becoming an anti-hero and saving innocent lives instead of digesting them.

Rick Remender will be doing the writing for Venom #11 and Lan Medina is working on the art with Marte Gracia doing colors. Expect to see Venom #11 in stores December 21st.

The Secret Avengers Gets A New Make Over

The Secret Avengers is getting a makeover this Feburary starting with it's Point One Initiative issue, #21.1, following that, issue #22 everything starts to take shape and form.

Marvel has announced that the Secret Avengers will be losing members but also gaining new ones. Issue #21.1 will bring about the appearance of a newly formed Masters of Evil. Issue #22 is to start a new arc for the newly formed Secret Avengers in which the bad guys are hyper evolved descendants of the Super Adaptoid, the android A.I.M created by putting a shard of the cosmic cube inside of him to take out the Avengers.

The new team will have some cross overs with Venom and Uncanny X-Force, especially with Uncanny X-Force #5.1, no details were given about that though.

For those wondering, the new team will consist of Hawkeye leading Black Widow, Ant-Man, Beast, Venom (Eddie Brock's Venom suit), Valkyrie, Captain Britain and a man who resembled the Human Torch. Now the guy who looks like the Human Torch can either be the original Human Torch or Johnny Storm, my guess is that it's going to be the original, Jim Hammon, that or it's Toro.

Issue 21.1 with have Rick Remender as the writer and Patrick Zircher as the illustrator. Then issue 22 will include Gabriel Hardman joining Remender.

Venom is back in action

And he has a new look? So Venom has gone through two major hosts, Eddie Brock and recently Mac Gargan (Ex Scorpion). After Osborn's Thunderbolts have been disbanded, a group was seen removing the symbiote from Gargan by force (Amazing Spider-Man #648) But what does this exactly mean? Eddie is now Anti-Venom, Gargan is without the symbiote. I can tell you one thing, Venom is now a government agent. But who is Venom's new host? His new comic, Venom #1 is to hit shelves in March 2011, but also pick up Amazing Spider-Man #654.1 for a follow up to his new comic which hits stores in February 2011.
