Jonathan Hickman Leaving The Fantastic Four Family This October

March 3, 2012 2 comments

Jonathan Hickman's run on Marvel's beloved Fantastic Four is coming to an end this October as he will be leaving both Fantastic Four and FF.

After writing for the Fantastic Four for three years, Fantastic Four #611 and FF #23 will be his last Fantastic Four related comics. Hickman will continue his work for Marvel on Avengers vs. X-Men and Ultimate Comics Ultimates #10.

"I always had an end point in mind, but along the way I really fell in love with writing Marvel’s First Family and I also had all these dangling bits to clean up, so I agreed -- [and] wanted -- to stay on," says Hickman. "Then all the gears started turning on all the [Avengers Vs. X-Men] stuff and what comes after and it just became obvious that October would be a good time to hop off."

A fifth image teaser has been released for the triumphant return of Fantastic Four. It looks like all heroes will band together to take on some alien force. And if you look close enough, some heroes are wearing older versions of their costumes.

First it was Galactus then it was Black Bolt, but now Marvel has released a Fantastic For #600 teaser image with Annihilus on the cover with text above it that says, "I don't think we can kill Annihilus." Three powerful characters that relates to the Fantastic Four are being featured, so what will tomorrow hold?

The return of the Fantastic Four will be heading to stores in November with issue #600, and with that, Marvel has released a teaser image with Galactus in the middle of the picture and a quote on top saying "Very soon, your world is going to be broken."

Fantastic Four #600 will be on sale on 11/22/11 and FF #12 will be on sale a week later on 11/30/11.

Valkyie Takes On The Heroes Of Earth In Fear Itself: The Fearless

Today and yesterday, Marvel has released teaser images for Fear Itself: The Fearless, an unknown Fear Itself tie-in that seems to be focusing on Valkyrie as she takes on the heroes of Earth.

The first one features Valkyrie taking on the Future Foundation with the words "Defeath the FF! Save the world."

Not much is known at the moment, such as, why is Valkyrie taking on the FF? The Thing looks like he is no longer possessed by Angrir.

The other image Marvel released today features, once again, Valkyrie taking on heroes. The heroes in question are Storm and Mirage with words spread out across the pictures saying "Invade Utopia! Save the world."

Valkyrie is definitely the focus of attention in this series, but why is she attacking other heroes? I found an image that relates to the series though. It features Valkyrie and Sin side by side armed with their own weapons. The only thing we know for sure is that the one where Valkyrie takes on the X-Men is to be released on October and Fear Itself: The Fearless #4 & #5 are to be released this December.

Marvel Teases Another Fantastic Four Image

This is the fourth day that Marvel has released an image teasing the return of the Fantastic Four, this time it's the cover for FF #12. All this does is that it announced that FF will continue to issue #12, but remember my guess in which Marvel will be counting twelve FF issued in order to go onto Fantastic Four #600, I wouldn't be surprised if they went with that, because it really seems like they're doign exactly that.
