Loki Won't Be The Main Villain In Thor 2

A new villain will be making his debut appearance for the Marvel Movie Universe in Thor 2 as Kevin Feige gives us a little insight on the movie, oh and the villain isn't Thanos.

“No, future, future,” Feige said of Thanos’ movie involvement. “But there will be a major new villain. A major, major new antagonist.”

“We’re going to see the other side of Asgard,” continues Feige. “It’s not all polished and golden in this film. And the events of Avengers will have affected Thor for sure. His relationship with Loki will continue to evolve, and the biggest part is Natalie [Portman], and Thor returning with Jane Foster.”

Loki won't be focused as the main villain this time around and it is not sure on who the villain is but we do know who will be playing the villain. Actor Mads Mikkelson, Casino Royale's main badguy, will be joining the cast as the main villain in Thor 2.

There are tons of villains they can use for Thor, but my top guesses would be Surtur, Ulik or Skurge.

Robert Rodat Rewriting Thor 2 Script

With Alan Taylor taking over Patty Jenkins as the new director of Thor 2 there now needs to be a rewrite of the current script, and Marvel supposedly already has the man - Robert Rodat.

Rodat, the screenwriter for Saving Private Ryan, is being reported to rework a draft already submitted by Don Payne. It is also being reported that Disney is going to start work on the film later this year for it's 2013 release.

Alan Taylor Directing Thor 2

Earlier this month it was announced that Penny Jenkins would no longer be directing Thor 2 due to creative differences, which left Marvel with no director. The day is saved though, thanks to Alan Taylor, who will now be directing the movie.

Alan Taylor has worked on some episodes for "Game of Thrones". Brian Kirk, who was the first person to be asked to work on Thor 2, is also a director of "Game of Thrones", but he turned down the offer of directing Thor 2 due to a creative and financial issues.

Patty Jenkins No Longer To Direct Thor 2

Back in October, Marvel announced that Patty Jenkins was on board for directing Thor 2, but now, Patty Jenkins has left Marvel Studios due to creative differences. Marvel will have to find a director fast if they want to meet their November 15, 2013 release date; I'm sure it won't be too much of a problem, but you never know.

Patty Jenkins Confirmed To Direct Thor 2

After announcing that Disney was pushing back Thor 2's release date from July 26, 2013 to November 15, 2013 in order to make room for The Lone Ranger, it was announced that Thor 2 finally got a director.

Emmy-nominated Patty Jenkins will be joining the crew for Thor 2 as the director. Jenkins has previously wrote and directed "Monster", she has also directed "Entourage" and "Arrested Development". Apparently she has been in talks for a couple of months to be directing Thor 2.

Thor 2 in 2013

Disney announced that Marvel Studios will be doing a second film for Thor. Along with the announcement of Thor 2, Iron Man 3 will have a release date aiming at May 3, 2013. Of course Chris Hemsworth will be returning to portray the God of Thunder, but Kenneth Branagh won't be returning to direct; July 26, 2013 is the planned release date for Thor 2.

We're facing many different movies based off of Marvel's creations - The Amazing Spider-Man, Avengers, Captain America, Wolverine, Thor 2 and Iron Man 3. I might be missing one or two, those are just from the top of my head, but either way I'm stoked for all of them.
