Don't forget Twisted Metal fans that Sony is released a demo for the upcoming Twisted Metal game on the PSN. The demo has limited features of course, but here is what the demo does have:

Twisted Metal To Have Online Pass

January 21, 2012 0 comments

Twisted Metal creator David Jaffe was hoping to avoid his new and upcoming Twisted Metal game to have an online pass in order to use the game's online multiplayer mode. The decision isn't his to make, instead it was Sony's and Sony says that an online pass will be needed to unlock and play the online multiplayer.

For those that don't remember what the online pass is, it was first introduced with Resistance 3 and various other games, like Uncharted 3, required it to play online. What will happen though is that you basically need a new copy of the game to play online. If you don't have a new copy and get it used, then you will have to shell out an extra $10 to purchase a redemption code through the PlayStation Network.

New Twisted Metal Delayed

Much to my personal dismay, the long-awaited PS3 incarnation of the classic vehicular combat series has been delayed. Originally slated to come out Fall of this year, it has been pushed back several months to the beginning of 2012. As long as the game is good, I'm willing to wait. I just want to play as my favorite insane sociopaths again, blowing a hole in the planet with my car that somehow can still function with all those weapons on it. The creator, David Jaffe had this to say over on the Playstation Blog:

"Now, if we shipped Twisted Metal tomorrow – going off the response from folks who have played it – I assure you, it would never be a bad game. Not even close. But we’re aiming for a heck of a lot more than that! With Twisted Metal we plan to ship a multiplayer classic. We plan to ship the best Twisted Metal ever made. We plan to convert a lot of folks who think vehicle combat is a relic best left to 90′s nostalgia. And we plan to explode the belief that the only relevant kind of shooter is a first person one (or a 3rd person one, where you play a human… with a tee shirt not all the way tucked in :) …).

Most importantly, we plan on treating you – the kind folks who play our game (and pay our bills) – like the VIPs that you are. You only deserve our best and we appreciate your understanding as we take a little more time to guarantee that our best is what we deliver."
