At Domain Tools, Microsoft has registered the domain 'Sony-Microsoft.com'. After doing some more research about this, they have also registered 'Microsoft-Sony.com'. Both domains were registered on different days; on July 13th, Sony-Microsoft was registered and on July 14th, it was Microsoft-Sony.
Nothing is known about why Microsoft did such a thing; if anything, I doubt that it is some kind of merge. If it were some part of partnership, then I don't know what I will do, that would be one hell of a corporation move. What it most likely is is that Microsoft is domain squatting, just to prevent any hooligan imposters from using their name in a site.
I'll keep an open eye for anything related to this. Maybe nothing will be announced and it's like how I said earlier: Microsoft is just domain squatting.
