For those who cannot wait to get their hands on the upcoming Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Valve plans to host a closed beta sometime in early October. The beta will hopefully give everyone a chance to experience the game according to Valve's Chet Flaiszeck.
A handful amount of people have already gotten their hands on the game; a group of pro gamers were the first when they were invited over by Valve. With the testing those players have done, Valve has added some new features to the game, and I'm not talking about the molotov of the revamped de_dust, the new Counter-Strike will be hosting three new game modes.
Enjoy some new screenshots that were released as we wait for the beta to come out on the PC, Mac, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
If you have played Counter-Strike, then you most likely know what the Gun Game mod is. For those that don't know what it is though, Gun Game is a type of mode for Counter-Strike in which you start off with one of the pistols, when you get two kills, your level up your rank and earn a new pistol. You keep doing this until you go from pistols, then to SMGs, and then from everything in between the knife. If you get a kill with the knife, you then are the winner of the game. Gun Game in Global Offensive will be changed into Arsenal and from there will be split into two different sub-modes - Arsenal: Demolition and Arsenal: Arms Race. Arms Race will be exactly the same as Gun Game, but Demolition is a mix of Arms Race and objective game play.
