Bioshock Infinite Delayed to 2013

May 9, 2012 0 comments

You might want to change your calendar today for Kevin Levine has announced that Bioshock infinite will not be coming out this year.

I know Elizabeth, It makes me cry as well...

Instead of its expected October 16th release date, Irrational Games has pushed it further back to February 26, 2013. Levine explained the games delay in a letter to the public.

“We have come to realize that some specific tweaks and improvements will make Infinite into something even more extraordinary and that the delay will give the development team the time they need.”

Irrational is very well known for perfection as the first Bioshock had a big delay like this as well. In the mean time, you now have more time to play some DLC and some other future releases like Boderlands 2 before Infinite comes out.

BioShock Movie On Indefinite Hold

It has been quite some time since we have heard anything about the BioShock movie, fortunately news has arisen today but unfortunately it is bad news as director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo is no longer going to direct the movie.

"To be honest, by now, I’m completely out of that, and developing other stuff," Fresnadillo said to Indie Wire. "Right now it’s on hold. The studio and the videogame company, they have to reach some kind of agreement about the budget and the rating."

Right now the BioWare movie is on indefinite hold.

BioShock Infinite Offers 1999 Mode

January 19, 2012 0 comments

Irrational Games is bringing back an older style of video game gameplay for BioShock:Infinite with a new mode called 1999 Mode.

1999 Mode changes things up that makes things more difficult along with some new features that are going to surprise the players apparently. What the new features are, no one is quite sure at this time, but Ken Levine, creative director of Irrational Games, explains 1999 Mode a little more.

“We want to give our oldest and most committed fans an option to go back to our roots,” says Ken Levine. “In 1999 Mode, gamers face more of the permanent consequences of their gameplay decisions. In BioShock Infinite, gamers will have to sweat out the results of their actions. In addition, 1999 Mode will demand that players pick specializations, and focus on them.

“I’m an old school gamer. We wanted to make sure we were taking into account the play styles of gamers like me. So we went straight to the horse’s mouth by asking them, on our website, a series of questions about how they play our games. 94.6 percent of respondents indicated that upgrade choices enhanced their BioShock gameplay experience; however, 56.8 percent indicated that being required to make permanent decisions about their character would have made the game even better.”

BioShock: Infinite will be hitting stores sometimes this year on the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
