The anticipated cartoon fighter's release date was long kept in the dark but now Reverge Lab's have announced the games release date, and it's much sooner than you think.
Skullgirls is planned for release on April 10 for the Playstation 3 and the 11th on Xbox Live for $14.99 and 1,200 MS points respectively. However, no release date has been announced for the PSN version of the game, but will they will address it very shortly.
Skullgirls final character has been announced who is a Nun, but not an ordinary Nun, a Nun that is a freaky looking demon thingy.
Double is a shapeshifting thing that enjoys taking form of a Nun who frequently attends church. As for when she's duking it out with other Skullgirls, Double is a giant hand with a gruesome mouth in the palm, she is also capable of transforming into other characters as well.
A new trailer for Skullgirls has been released today showing off the crazy and extremely deadly Nurse Valentine, which is a perfect time for Autumn Games to release the trailer.
Valentine will be showing off her moves as she fights against her opponents with saws, scalpels, body bags, gas tanks, defibrillators and prescriptions!
Underneath the outfits and looks that can kill you, Skullgirls has a story that involves a Skull Heart that turns women into Skullgirls if they have a corrupt heart.
Thanks to a new trailer that was released today, we were able to find that out. The trailer also shows off some new gameplay. There is no announcement day yet, all we know is that it will be out sometime early this year.
Skullgirl's official site has been updated with Valentine's bio and essential data today. Did you know though that she was born on Christmas day and likes to read non-fiction books while listening to the accoustic guitar as she chows down on some meat and chocolate? Who would've known?!
It looks like there's more than meets the eye with Skullgirl's Ms. Fortune. Besides her cat like attitude, she is also a corpse with a cat like attitude who can also remove her head at will and use it as a weapon.
A new character highlight video has been released for Ms. Fortune that shows off her head throwing hat tricks. Ms. Fortune's head does some fancy footwork as it can bite your opponent, be rolled at your opponent like a bowling ball or it can make her body explode and then reassemble inflicting damage.
Skullgirls is expected to be available to purchase early 2012.
Assumptions were going around that Skullgirls was going to be released sometime this year. Instead, Reverge Labs has announced that the game won't be released this year, it will be released early 2012. Reverge Labs is delaying the game due to them wanting to make the game the best they can.
So far the developers have tweaked the game from some feedback. The following changes are:
Gameplay speed changes – 10% faster!
Lots of new effects and overall presentation improvements
Upgraded backgrounds to 3D
Additional music from Michiru Yamane
Requested color palettes
Accidental pause prevention option – hold Start for 15 frames to pause
PlayStation 3 custom soundtrack option
Button macros to help when playing on a pad
Innumerable balance and gameplay tweaks
In-game art galleries
So far Skullgirls has five announced characters wish possibly more on the way.
Our 5th fighter to enter the brawl is known as Ms. Fortune. While her name may be somewhat of a bad pun, she looks like she's going to fit in right with the rest of the cast. Given that all we know is the above picture and a small snip of her story as shared by the Playstation Blog, we'll have to wait to see more. It is known that she can detach her body parts (probably along all those scar lines) and use them for hitting the opponent more. Maybe like a weird version of Dhalsim... Oh well, we'll have to wait and see!
We also get the second version of the developers' Friday Night Fights, where they show off how some of the characters are played. This week is a plain one-on-one fight featuring two of the other characters announced, Parasoul and Cerebella.
