New Avengers Cartoon Might Cause The Cancellation Of Earth's Mightiest Heroes

Rumors have been going around lately that Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes was going to be canned once writer Jeph Loeb got his hands on the show, today those rumors turned out to be most likely true.

In an article from Forbes, the announcement of a new Avengers cartoon has been announced which most likely means that it will push Earth's Mightiest Heroes to the side. This new Avengers cartoon is most likely appeal to the fans of the movies in order to pull them in, which I'd bet my life off considering the information that we have for the new cartoon:

• The show will start with the movie line-up. Which means Iron-man, Cap, Hulk, Thor, Hawkeye and widow.
• The show will be sharing the same universe of the current Ultimate spider-man cartoon and the upcoming Hulk Agents of SMASH.
• Ant-man will join the team later on the series.
• The animation will be a big selling point for the show. and will be made by MAS (the newly formed Marvel animation studio) 
• The show will not be a continuation of the current Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes. 
• One of the big villains of the show will be Thanos, in order to promote the character for kids since he is rumored to feature in the second Avengers movie.

Matt Groening Finally Tells Where Springfield Is

For years and years everyone has wondered where Springfield is located on the globe, well now today Matt Groening has revealed that tidbit piece of information after all these years.

During an interview with Smithsonian magazine, Groening has revealed that Springfield takes place in his home state of Oregon. Yes, Springfield, Oregon.

“Springfield was named after Springfield, Oregon,” says Groening. “The only reason is that when I was a kid, the TV show Father Knows Best took place in the town of Springfield, and I was thrilled because I imagined that it was the town next to Portland, my hometown. When I grew up, I realized it was just a fictitious name. I also figured out that Springfield was one of the most common names for a city in the U.S. In anticipation of the success of the show, I thought, ‘This will be cool; everyone will think it’s their Springfield.’ And they do.”

New Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes Clip Preludes Civil War

It seems like Marvel is hinting at bringing the Civil War story line to The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Hero as a new clip has been released for the second episode. In this clip Maria Hill is talking to Tony Stark about the Avengers and other heroes registering themselves to S.H.I.E.L.D. with one of those heroes being Spider-Man. Skrull Invasion and Civil War? Earth's Mightiest Heroes seems to be going in a crazy good direction.

Catch Earth's Mightiest Heroes this Sunday at 11:30 am on Disney XD for a brand new episode.

Ultimate Spider-Man Preview Trailer

More and more clips and scenes are being released for Ultimate Spider-Man and with this newest trailer we get to see heroes that will be fighting along side Spider-Man.

So far it seems like White Tiger, Iron Fist, Nova (Rick Jones?) and someone else who I can't put my finger on; it could be Power Fist but I have my doubts. Doom will also be appearing in Ultimate Spider-Man.

Cartoon Network Previews Next Young Justice Episode

Cartoon Network has released teaser images and a video for the next upcoming episode of Young Justice. The episode titled "Secrets"focuses on Artemis and introduces a new character who is the daughter of Zatanna - Zatarra - on Halloween day.

The new episode airs this Friday on November 18 at 6:30 p.m. ET/PT on Cartoon Network.

Avatar The Last Airbender: Legend of Korra Trailer [Update]

During San Diego Comic Con, a trailer for Avatar the Last Airbender: Legend of Korra was released. So far, I'm loving it, I'm really enjoying how modern the look to some of the towns and the animation is looking superb.

Legend of Korra is expected to come out mid 2012 with 26 episodes already planned. Korra is the next Avatar after Aang; the series also takes place 70 years after the original Last Airbender.

More Marvel On T.V.

Marvel is on a roll with their announcements this year at San Diego Comic Con. This time, Jeph Loeb, Head of Television, was brought to the stage to talk about Marvel's projects for the television.

The lucky attendees were able to watch footage from both Ultimate Spider-Man and Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes Season 2. Loeb also announced some some live-action shows that are in development, and they're pretty shocking. The shows will focus around these characters (each one is getting their own show):

• Jessica Jones
• Hulk
• Cloak and Dagger
• Mockingbird

Who would've ever thought that Jessica Jones will be getting her own show, and what about Mockingbird? Mockingbird might be cool, Cloak and Dagger would be awesome, Hulk as been done before, but Jessica Jones? I don't know how to feel about this, I do want to see it though, just for curiosity; if that's the case, I hope it doesn't flop like Wonder Woman. Loeb does say that some may or may not make it to the screen, but he does talk about each one.

aka Jessica Jones is being done at ABC and will be based on Michael Bendis and Michael Gaydos' Alias, don't get it mixed up with J.J. Abrams Alias because they're both different characters. Loeb does confirm that Carol Danvers and Luke Cage will be featured.

Hulk will be focused on Banner and Betty and their love for each other with the setting to be set in the Hulk's earlier years, before everyone knows Banner the Hulk. This show sounds boring, I don't want to watch a show that will be full of romance scenes.

Cloak and Dagger will be featured on ABC Family and will be set in post-Katrina New Orleans.

Mockingbird is also going to be on ABC Family, Bobby will be depicted as "a Peter Parker Nerd" as she's getting into S.H.I.E.L.D. Hopefully some other characters will be shown in the show.

Loeb then moved away from the live-action and moved onto the animated shows. He announced that Ultimate Spider-Man will be on Disney XD next year. After then, he showed the audience footage of the show. Unfortunately there's no footage of it, I wish I could see it though.

Hulk: Agents of SMASH is another television animated project that Marvel is working on that will also be featured on Disney XD.

The first episode of Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes Season 2 was premiered in which it showed the Fantastic Four hanging out with the Avengers at the Avenger's Mansion as Doctor Doom is the protagonist in this episode.

I'm pretty much excited for all of this, minus Hulk and aka Jessica Jones. I can't wait for Avengers to start up again and see the Fantastic Four for more than 5 scenes. I would love to see Marvel get their own television station though; they'd be able to show all T.V. shows Marvel has done, which is quit a big amount considering that they have shows focused around Iron Man, the Fantastic Four, the X-Men (X-Men TAS, X-Men Evolution and Wolverine and the X-Men) Spider-Man and whatnot. I'd watch that station 24/7 though

Captain Planet On The Big Screen

Cartoon Network, Transformers and Captain Planet are all related in a planned upcoming movie. Cartoon Network is teaming up with Transformers producer, Don Murphy, to make a Captain Planet movie.

Captain Planet, the green-haired environmentalist, was created by Ted Turner - who also owns Cartoon Network - and will be revived under his watch. Stuart Sydney, president of Turner Broadcasting System has this to say about the reviving hero:

“The messages of Captain Planet are even more relevant today.We feel this team can bring the world’s first eco-hero to life in a powerful motion picture that is not only pertinent but entertaining.”

Will a Captain Planet movie even be good? I just can't even picture a live action version at all; I guess I won't judge until we see some screenshots or trailers at least. If you don't know who Captain Planet is, then you either hate trees or you just weren't around for his heroism. Here's a video for you so you'll know, or for others to remember.
