Joss Whedon To Co-Write S.H.I.E.L.D. On ABC

August 30, 2012 0 comments

Joss Whedon won't just be directing The Avengers 2, he will also be working a new show for ABC based off of the secret law enforcement agency - S.H.I.E.L.D.

Whedon will be working with his brother, Jed Whedon, and Maurissa Tancharoen as a co-writter, to bring S.H.I.E.L.D. to television. Both Jed and Tanchaeroen have worked with Joss before on his show Dollhouse on Fox.

There is no news when S.H.I.E.L.D. will air or who will be appearing in the movie, but there is a good chance that Samuel L. Jackson will be in it.

The CW Okays Arrow

May 14, 2012 0 comments

It is now official, The CW has picked up Arrow and will be allowing the show to be shown on its network for an hour long each week.

Based off of DC Comic's bow and arrow wielding hero, Oliver Queen, a.k.a. The Green Arrow,  Arrow will focus around Queen becoming the Green Arrow after being thought to be dead during a shipwreck but in reality he has been stuck on an island for five years. Here is the full and official description of the show:

After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the Pacific. When he returns home to Starling City, his devoted mother Moira, much-beloved sister Thea, and best friend Tommy welcome him home, but they sense Oliver has been changed by his ordeal on the island. While Oliver hides the truth about the man he’s become, he desperately wants to make amends for the actions he took as the boy he was. Most particularly, he seeks reconciliation with his former girlfriend, Laurel Lance. As Oliver reconnects with those closest to him, he secretly creates the persona of Arrow – a vigilante – to right the wrongs of his family, fight the ills of society, and restore Starling City to its former glory. By day, Oliver plays the role of a wealthy, carefree and careless philanderer he used to be – flanked by his devoted chauffeur/bodyguard, John Diggle – while carefully concealing the secret identity he turns to under cover of darkness. However, Laurel’s father, Detective Quentin Lance, is determined to arrest the vigilante operating in his city. Meanwhile, Oliver’s own mother, Moira, knows much more about the deadly shipwreck than she has let on – and is more ruthless than he could ever imagine.

Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, and Andrew Kreisberg will be working as the writers for the show while working with Stephen Amell (Oliver Queen), Colin Donnell (Tommy Merlyn), Katie Cassidy (Laurel Lance), David Ramsey (John Diggle), Willa Holland (Thea Queen), Susanna Thompson (Moira Queen) and Paul Blackthorne (Detective Quentin Lance).

Ever since the announcement of the animated television show Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. last year at Comic-Con International nothing has been said about it besides the fact that the show will be on Disney XD and focus on the original Hulk, Red Hulk, She Hulk, Skaar and A-Bomb.

Well, now we know that Eliza Dushku will be voicing She-Hulk. We still have no premiere date or anything else.

Disney XD has released an exclusive trailer for Ultimate Spider-Man for Entertainment Weekly a couple of days ago showing off what obviously seems like a clip from what is most likely the first episode of the series.

Ultimate Spider-Man will be part of the Marvel Universe programming block on Disney XD on April 1. Brian Michael Bendis, Joe Casey, Joe Kelly and Paul Dini are all working together to bring this new series together.

AMC has finally thrown Walking Dead fans a bone by announcing that David Morrissey will be joining the cast as the one and only Governor.

Morrissey will be portraying the leader of a settlement Rick and the others encounter during the zombie apocalypse. One major speculation of who the Governor was going to be was Merle Dixon who hasn't been seen since his disappearance in the first season of the show.

Filming for season 3 of the Walking Dead will start this Spring in Atlanta and will contain 16 episodes.

A pilot episode has been ordered for "Arrow" and will have Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim, "Green Lantern" screenwriters, and Andrew Kreisberg, co-executive producer of "Fringe" working on it. Kreisberg has said that sets the Green Arrow "in a new world with an original story that is not based on the comics."

The Green Arrow appeared on "Smallville", which also appeared on The CW and was portrayed by Justin Hartley but Hartley will not be included in the new TV show.

The Punisher To Be Airing On Fox

October 21, 2011 0 comments

In order to bring the Marvel Universe onto television Fox will be airing The Punisher which will be an hour-long.

The Punisher was originally to be aired on ABC Family next to The Incredible Hulk, Cloak & Dagger, AKA Jessica Jones and Mockingbird, but it has been purchased by Fox and will be airing on their channel.

Frank Castle's television adaptation is different in which he is a New York police man by day, but a justice seeking vigilante at night. So it's pretty much Batman but with a gun and a skull on his chest, hell, I don't even know if Punisher will be shooting/killing anyone.

No idea when the show will be released, but Ed Bernero (Criminal Minds) will be producing The Punisher.

Beware The Batman's New CG-Animated Show

October 4, 2011 0 comments

Batman is probably one of the most iconic characters DC has to offer, considering he's had a handful of cartoons, and another one won't hurt anybody.

Warner Bros. Animation announced this weekend at the MIP Junior Conference in Cannes, France that a new CG-animated series featuring the Dark Knight will be coming out in 2012 on Cartoon Network. The new show will be titled Beware the Batman in which his sidekicks will be a gun wielding Alfred Pennyworth and Katana.

The new series is to focus on showing older and not more well known villains, such as Professor Pyg shown in the picture above.

“We went in deeper into the villain library and pulled out some other villains,” says Sam Register, executive vice president for creative affairs at Warner bros. Animation. “We didn’t want to do another Joker story — there’s too many of them. We just needed to do something new, so we’re starting off with new villains.”

It was also announced that there will be short animations featuring other DC characters, such as Plastic Man, Doom Patrol, Batgirl, Supergirl and Wonder Girl.

More Marvel On T.V.

July 23, 2011 0 comments

Marvel is on a roll with their announcements this year at San Diego Comic Con. This time, Jeph Loeb, Head of Television, was brought to the stage to talk about Marvel's projects for the television.

The lucky attendees were able to watch footage from both Ultimate Spider-Man and Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes Season 2. Loeb also announced some some live-action shows that are in development, and they're pretty shocking. The shows will focus around these characters (each one is getting their own show):

  • Jessica Jones
  • Hulk
  • Cloak and Dagger
  • Mockingbird

Who would've ever thought that Jessica Jones will be getting her own show, and what about Mockingbird? Mockingbird might be cool, Cloak and Dagger would be awesome, Hulk as been done before, but Jessica Jones? I don't know how to feel about this, I do want to see it though, just for curiosity; if that's the case, I hope it doesn't flop like Wonder Woman. Loeb does say that some may or may not make it to the screen, but he does talk about each one.

aka Jessica Jones is being done at ABC and will be based on Michael Bendis and Michael Gaydos' Alias, don't get it mixed up with J.J. Abrams Alias because they're both different characters. Loeb does confirm that Carol Danvers and Luke Cage will be featured.

Hulk will be focused on Banner and Betty and their love for each other with the setting to be set in the Hulk's earlier years, before everyone knows Banner the Hulk. This show sounds boring, I don't want to watch a show that will be full of romance scenes.

Cloak and Dagger will be featured on ABC Family and will be set in post-Katrina New Orleans.

Mockingbird is also going to be on ABC Family, Bobby will be depicted as "a Peter Parker Nerd" as she's getting into S.H.I.E.L.D. Hopefully some other characters will be shown in the show.

Loeb then moved away from the live-action and moved onto the animated shows. He announced that Ultimate Spider-Man will be on Disney XD next year. After then, he showed the audience footage of the show. Unfortunately there's no footage of it, I wish I could see it though.

Hulk: Agents of SMASH is another television animated project that Marvel is working on that will also be featured on Disney XD.

The first episode of Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes Season 2 was premiered in which it showed the Fantastic Four hanging out with the Avengers at the Avenger's Mansion as Doctor Doom is the protagonist in this episode.

I'm pretty much excited for all of this, minus Hulk and aka Jessica Jones. I can't wait for Avengers to start up again and see the Fantastic Four for more than 5 scenes. I would love to see Marvel get their own television station though; they'd be able to show all T.V. shows Marvel has done, which is quit a big amount considering that they have shows focused around Iron Man, the Fantastic Four, the X-Men (X-Men TAS, X-Men Evolution and Wolverine and the X-Men) Spider-Man and whatnot. I'd watch that station 24/7 though

The Walking Dead Trailer And Video Game

July 22, 2011 2 comments

At San Diego Comic Con, AMC showed atendees thei trailer for Season 2 of The Walking Dead along with revealing the date and time for the show. The 13-episode season will debut October 16 at 9 P.M. ET/PT.

I'm pretty excited for the second season (especially the farm house part), I loved the first and how it was adapted into a T.V. show. I really hope that they show their prison hideout, I loved that part in the comic book.

Along with a trailer for the T.V. adaptation, Telltale has released some pictures of their upcoming The Walking Dead game. Telltale has decided not to follow Rick and his group, but instead they created a new character - Lee - who was a prisoner during the whole outbreak.

The game is about Lee trying to survive and will have situation where you will have to eat and mend a broken bone. The Walking Dead won't be a straight up run-n-gun zombie shooter, it will be more like an adventure game where you talk to people and solve puzzles. Some choices you make in the game, can affect other parts of the game also.

The 90's Are All That

July 11, 2011 0 comments

After a decade passed and time forgot about all the great 90's shows that Nick use to air, tons of fans demanded for a re-air of many classic cartoons and shows that includes:

  • All That
  • Clarissa Explains it All
  • The Adventures of Pete & Pete
  • The Amanda Show
  • Kenan & Kel
  • Rugrats
  • Salute Your Shorts
  • Aaahh!! Real Monsters
  • CatDog
  • Ren and Stimpy
  • Legend of the Hidden Temple
  • Doug
  • Ren & Stimpy
  • Stick

No, this is not a dream at all. Nickelodeon is bringing back some of their greatest shows that will air at midnight sometime this July. Hopefully other shows will be brought back such as Are You Afraid of the Dark or Angry Beavers, either way I am super stoked for this that it's not even funny; nostalgia will hit and it will be amazing.
