Capcom Is Opening A Bar

December 23, 2011 0 comments

The world is full of unsuspecting twists and turns, and today Capcom has announced one of those unsuspecting things at us. Capcom is combining alcohol and (hopefully) video games into one thing - a bar.

Next year in Shinjuku, Tokyo Capcom will be opening a bar that will serve food and drinks inspired by their own games; maybe they will have Hadouken Punch with some Roll Cake as Guile's theme plays in the background.

The bar is to open on January 25th in Shinjuku's Pasela Resort, so if any of you readers are in the vicinity, go check it out.

Happy Birthday To A Legend

November 16, 2011 0 comments

WOAH! Stop right there, because today is a legends birthday. This man alone has revolutionized gaming, bringing us amazing classics, such as: Mario, Donkey Kong, The Legend OF Zelda,Star Fox, F-zero, and Pikmin. He basically is Nintendo. The only thing he may be missing from his queue of games may just be Pokemon.

Miyamoto was born in November 16, 1952 in Sonobe, Kyoto, Japan. He was like a lot of us, he didn't do so good in school, because all the time he was in class, he would draw and draw. He got many of his ideas for games such as The Legend of Zelda, by a simple visit to a cave or forest. It's amazing that two of the most iconic game titles and figures, where made all by the same man, from childish ventures. Continue to bless us with your work, you are an inspiration to many, including myself.

Happy Birthday.

Ace Attorney Live Action Movie Hits Japan This February

October 27, 2011 0 comments

For those who like Ace Attorney so much that they can't wait for a live action movie of the game, you should all rejoice and head over to Japan on February 11, 2012 for that's when the Japanese live action Ace Attorney movie will be hitting theaters.

If you have the patience or don't have the money to fly down to Japan just for that, then I'm sure there will eventually be a subtitled version of the movie, but it might not be official since Capcom has not announced a translated version or a U.S. release anytime soon.

I've never played Ace Attorney, so I don't know if this is ridiculously bad in some Duke Nukem way or actually be good. Supposedly though the director, Takashi Miike, is beloved for the films he has directed in the past, so it might be good.

Misty Pink Is An Actual Color...For The 3DS

September 12, 2011 0 comments

It seems like the 3DS was a bit jealous when it came to the DSi getting pinked out, so much that Satoru Iwata decided to give the 3DS a new pink color. Nintendo will be releasing the new "Misty Pink" color on October 20th in Japan, but there's no news whether or not there will be an American release of this new Misty Pink.

Pokémon Game Creator To Announce A Possible New Game

September 11, 2011 0 comments

Serebii is claiming that Pokémon Game Creator, Junichi Masuda, will be making on announcement that might be related to a new Pokémon game.

A summary got an episode of Pokémon Smash, a T.V. show that covers Pokémon in as many ways as they can, says that Junichi Masuda will be coming on to the show on September 18th to make a special announcement.

On today's episode, there was a mention of a Mewtwo that will be given away through a special promotion which will be announced next week on September 18th. There was also a preview implying Masuda's appearance with a sign having a question mark on it and having a caption that says, "There's a revelation of the Present". No idea what that's suppose to mean, but there is a high chance that the announcement will be Pokémon related, but no word on what it is exactly though.

Mario Meets Jenga

August 22, 2011 0 comments

A new game has hit Japan that looks similiar to well known block game, Jenga. If you look closely though, it's not your regular Jenga game, it's actually a Mario themed copy called Super Mario Balance Block.

I like how there are Super Mashrooms in the game, but I'm not entirely sure what they do. Super Mario Balance Block comes out in Japan for 2,500 yen this November and some import sites will be happy to take your pre-orders.

Retailers Selling 3DS Cheaper Than Price Cut

July 30, 2011 0 comments

This past few days have been a rough time for Nintendo and their 3DS. First the 3DS gets a price cut, then they lose over $300 million and now retailer in Japan are selling the 3DS for cheaper than the intended price cut.

The price drop for the 3DS doesn't take affect until August 11th, but some retailers didn't seem to get the message. The original price for a 3DS is 25,000 yen and is planned to go down to 15,000 yen, but some stores are selling them for as low as 13,800 yen.

If you have a 3DS, make sure to get your free twenty NES and Game Boy Advance games available to download on the Nintendo e-Shop before August 11th. Nintendo explains the Ambassador (that's the name Nintendo is giving people who have had their 3DS before the price cut) status:

"These free games are available to anyone who owns a Nintendo 3DS system and uses a wireless broadband Internet signal to connect to the Nintendo eShop at least once before 11:59 p.m. Eastern time on Aug. 11. These users will automatically be registered in the Nintendo 3DS Ambassador program. The program contains two elements:

  1. Starting Sept. 1, Nintendo 3DS Ambassadors will be able to download 10 NES Virtual Console games at no charge and before they are available in the Nintendo eShop to the general public. These games, including Super Mario Bros, Donkey Kong Jr., Balloon Fight, Ice Climber and The Legend of Zelda, are slated to become paid downloadable games, but Ambassadors get them early for free. Once the paid versions of the games are posted to the Nintendo eShop later in the year, the updated versions will be available to Ambassadors for download at no cost
  2. By the end of 2011, Nintendo will provide Ambassadors with 10 Game Boy Advance Virtual Console games. These include games like Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3, Mario Kart: Super Circuit, Metroid Fusion, WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$ and Mario vs. Donkey Kong. These games will be available exclusively to Ambassadors, and Nintendo currently has no plans to make these 10 games available to the general public on the Nintendo 3DS in the future"

Poor Nintendo, things are not going very well for them. Hopefully they'll be able to recover from this, I'm pretty sure they will.
