Marvel has announced some sad news today, Black Panther: The Most Dangerous Man Alive and Ghost Rider will be getting the axe. They both will stand next to X-23, Alpha Flight, Victor Von Doom, Destroyers, Iron Man 2.0 and All-Winners Squad as they also were cancelled within the last month.
Black Panther: The Most Dangerous Man Alive will be ending with issue #529 and will finish with the Kingpin going against Black Panther. Black Panther's latest run was ended due to low sales in October with Marvel only selling 18,000 copies.
Nine issues after Alejandra became the new Ghost Rider, starring Johnny Blaze as the co-star, her ongoing series too has been cancelled for low sales in the month of October. The official announcement of Ghost Rider's cancellation came from Ghost Rider writer Rob Williams when he jumped onto Twitter and said, "Sorry to confirm the news about Ghost Rider's cancellation. It's disappointing. Thanks to everyone who bought the book."
Unlike Black Panther, Alejandra will be making a return in February during Marvel's mini Venom event along side X-23.
It's such a shame that these two titles got cancelled, I was really enjoying Black Panther and I was excited to see what this new Ghost Rider was going to bring to the table. I'm hoping that no other on-going series gets the axe; too many non-group or non-Avengers related titles are getting cancelled when they don't deserve it at all.
