Guardians Of The Galaxy Movie Confirmed Along With Other Titles

April 16, 2012 0 comments

Originally being a rumor, it seems like now that Guardians of the Galaxy will be coming to the big screen as CraveOnline was able to get an interview with Marvel Studios' head honcho Kevin Feige.

In the interview with Feige, he started to say, "I think whether it's Ant-Man, or Dr. Strange, or The Inhumans, or The Guardians of the Galaxy..." before he was interrupted by the interviewer when he cried out Rocket Raccoon's name.

Continuing, Feige says, "We are very excited about bringing things like that, maybe things exactly like that, to the screen. When you tell people, you know what would be really cool? This movie, and there's a raccoon, and there's a tree... And they go, 'What?' And people like you know what it is, and get excited. And the majority of people go, 'Did you say a raccoon and a tree?' 'Oh yeah, they're going to steal the whole movie. They're hilarious.' 'Okay, I'll believe it when I see it.' I like that."

Feige continues to go on to say that the Guardians of the Galaxy movie won't focus on the original team back in 1969, but instead will focus around the reincarnated team back in 2008 that included Star-Lord, Rocket Raccoon,  Groot, Drax, and Gamora; there was no mention of Mantis, Cosmo, Moondragon and other GotG members.

We know that Marvel has an announced movie title coming out in 2014, but no news on what it exactly is; maybe it's Guardians of the Galaxy.

Kevin Feige On Future Plans For Marvel Movies

April 13, 2012 0 comments

After Marvel releases the Avengers, what else are they planning with their movies? We know that there is going to be a Captain America 2, Thor 2 and an Iron Man 3 but what about the Hulk?

In an interview with Collider, Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios President, talks about what they have already planned in the future for their movies.

  • [Feige has] seen an unfinished version of The Amazing Spider-Man and says it is excellent and should quiet concerns over the idea of rebooting the franchise.
  • They have an option for Whedon to direct The Avengers 2 when and if the time comes.
  • There are currently no plans to do a new Hulk movie with Mark Ruffalo.
  • Iron Man 3 starts filming in five weeks in North Carolina.
  • When approaching Iron Man 3, their gut instinct was to not make it be a pseudo-Avengers 2.  It’s a full-on Tony Stark movie.
  • Iron Man 3 is inspired by the first half of Iron Man 1 in that they’re metaphorically putting Tony back in the cave.  He’s stripped of everything, back against a wall, and has nothing but his intelligence to get him out.
  • Filming on Thor 2 begins in three months in London and it picks up where the first film left off in terms of Jane and Oden.
  • Thor 2 also addresses what’s been happening in the nine realms with the Asgardians unable to use the Bifrost.
  • Loki has a part in Thor 2, but there will be a different, big villain.
  • The crux of Thor 2 is continuing the dynamic between Thor and Jane, as well as the relationship between Thor and Odin.
  • Feige says there are no plans for Marvel and Pixar to team up on a feature.
  • Creative talks have been progressing for years between Marvel and Disney about possibly doing a Marvel property as an animated film.
  • Edgar Wright did not film something for Marvel recently, but Feige says to pay attention to Wright’s tweets in the coming months “and that might change.”
  • They’re still figuring out how much period flashbacks to include in Captain America 2.
  • The primary story of Captain America 2 will be Steve Rogers figuring out his place in the world. For the time-being, he’ll be staying with S.H.I.E.L.D.
  • They should announce by Comic-Con or before what’s coming out in May 2014.
  • Zak Penn did not write a Doctor Strange movie.
  • Feige says, “depending on what Edgar Wright films for us” circumstances could possibly force them to make three films in one year.

So what will be announced this year to be coming out in May 2014? Could it be either Iron Man 3, Thor 2 or Captain America? Or could it possibly be one of those rumored movies like Ant-Man, Black Panther, Dr. Strange or Guardians of the Galxy?

Skrulls And Red Skull Not In The Avengers

January 23, 2012 0 comments

Since the announcement of The Avengers, fans have been speculating on who the villain(s) were. The biggest rumor is that it's the invasive Skrull empire working with Loki and now recently it's rumored that Red Skull is teaming up with Loki but Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige clarifies some of the speculation in an interview with Empire Magazine.

“Who said they were aliens?” Feige teases. “It’s not Skrulls, I’ve been clear about that. Beyond that, we want to hide it. The identity of the alien race is not impactful. It exists in the comic books, but we’re not setting up the Kree-Skrull war or anything like that.”

“Was Skull vaporised at the end of the movie, or thrust into another realm?” asks Feige. “That remains to be seen. It would be fun to see Skull in future, but he’s not in this one.”

Disappointing is the truth but we finally have it, no Skrulls or Red Skull involvement will be in The Avengers, unless this is just an elaborate trick and Marvel will include the Skrulls (I'm hoping at least).
