During the Toy Fair in New York, MTV Geek snapped a few photos of little pink aliens that do look like Skrulls. It would be no surprise if Feige was just saying that there will be no Skrulls so people will get pumped up when they actually do see them on the big screen.
Look at the photos below and see if you think the board game aliens and the aliens in the newest Avengers trailer share a resemblance or not.
Since the announcement of The Avengers, fans have been speculating on who the villain(s) were. The biggest rumor is that it's the invasive Skrull empire working with Loki and now recently it's rumored that Red Skull is teaming up with Loki but Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige clarifies some of the speculation in an interview with Empire Magazine.
“Who said they were aliens?” Feige teases. “It’s not Skrulls, I’ve been clear about that. Beyond that, we want to hide it. The identity of the alien race is not impactful. It exists in the comic books, but we’re not setting up the Kree-Skrull war or anything like that.”
“Was Skull vaporised at the end of the movie, or thrust into another realm?” asks Feige. “That remains to be seen. It would be fun to see Skull in future, but he’s not in this one.”
Disappointing is the truth but we finally have it, no Skrulls or Red Skull involvement will be in The Avengers, unless this is just an elaborate trick and Marvel will include the Skrulls (I'm hoping at least).
THQ was on to something big, when I say big, I mean they were developing a game I would have thrown all my money at. THQ's closure of their Brisbane, Australia studio meant that a few games were cancelled, and one game was the movie to video game The Avengers.
Last week a video was released of the game, which was in it's pre-alpha stage. Youtube took down the video though, I have never seen it, I wish I would've. Thankfully though, another video has been released showing off four Avengers members battling an army of Skrulls.
Check out the video before it ends up gone like the first one. It's a total shame that it got cancelled, hopefully someone will pick it up and continue the work on it.
I would love to see how the game would be in third person mode though instead of first person, I think it might look a little better that way. The footage looks amazing though, it looks like there's co-op, so you can have you and your friends playing on it. Everything about The Avengers game looked so great.
The first video has been removed, but I found another one. So check the video out as soon as you can before this one goes out.
