Metal Gear Solid Announced To Be In Theatres

August 30, 2012 0 comments

For the past few years there were rumors of Metal Gear Solid hitting the big screen, but now today it has been officially announced that there will indeed be a Metal Gear Solid movie.

During the Metal Gear Anniversary that was held in Tokyo, Konami showed off a banner that said "Metal Gear Solid Hollywood Movie" with Columbia Pictures logo, which means Columbia Pictures and Konami will be working together in order to bring fans what they have been wanting for quit some time.

Hideo Kojima, during the event, announced that Avi Arad (Spider-Man, Iron Man) will be the man directing the Metal Gear Solid film. Kojima brough Arad onto stage where he said, "For many years I fought to bring comics to theaters, and video games are the comics of today. We will take our time and tell the story with all the nuances, ideology, cautionary tales needed."

There is no other news besides Arad being the director of the film.

Kojima Productions Working On The Next Metal Gear Solid

February 22, 2012 0 comments

It seems like Hideo Kojima has plans for another Metal Gear Solid game besides Metal Gear Rising. As Platinum Games works on Rising, Kojima Productions will be working on another entry to the hit series, but first they are looking for people to hire for that.

Using the Fox Engine, Kojima Productions is looking for people to help and you can apply through their website. In the mean time, Kojima Productions has drawn up and awesome hiring poster with Naked Snake and a mysterious classified photo of Big Boss posing with a dog as he wears a patch that isn't Fox Hound.

It's not known if what the game will be, whether it be a remake, sequel or prequel.

Nintendo 3DS gets a Metal Gear Solid 3DS

December 29, 2011 1 comments

Hideo Kojima recently announced on his twitter account that Konami and Nintendo will be releasing a Limited edition Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater themed 3DS system. Whats special about this is that this system has snake skin, yes, actual Snake skin.

While no pricing has been listed yet, the system is scheduled to be released January 20th next year in Japan. I doubt however that this will be available anywhere else. These are the kind of things PETA should be pissed off about...

Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D has a December release date, but then it got pushed back to early 2012 without an exact date. Hideo Kojima finally gave an exact date on when Metal Gear Solid for the 3DS will be released - March 8, 2012. It is unknown if that is worldwide, Japan only or what.

Kojima Might Make Metal Gear Solid 5

Last Thursday we thought the latest issue of PlayStation Magazine was going to announce Metal Gear Solid 5, but in truth, it wasn't quite what everyone was suspecting.

Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima was asked about whether there would ever be a fifth installment to the beloved series, in which he stated, "I think we'll probably have to make it at some point, but what that will be, we have no idea. As far as my involvement in the project is concerned, [it] probably won't be as much as it was with MGS1 – maybe I can do just one stage! For MGS1 I made the maps myself, laid out the enemy routes myself, did everything hands-on – that level I can't do again."

This is pretty much the same thing as when Nintendo said they were interested in making another Smash Bros.; it isn't a for sure thign that will happen, it's more like a maybe or hopefully it will happen.

HD Games seem to be making a hullabaloo lately, especially with the new Metal Gear Solid HD remake. The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 aren't the only ones getting the HD remake of the hit series, the PlayStation Vita will be getting a ported version of the HD remake.

Hideo Kojima doesn't stop there though, PlayStation Vita players will also be able to play the Zone of Enders HD Collection on the handheld as well.

Kojima Shows Off Face Poses

August 17, 2011 0 comments

Back in June, Hideo Kojima revealed that his team was working on a game engine called Fox Engine. Now he is showing us a bit more than a test scene, he showed off some face poses he's been working on with his new engine. The character that's being posed won't be in any upcoming games, but it is in fact Yevgeny Borisovitch Volgin from Metal Gear Solid 3.

Fox Engine

Hideo Kojima and his team has been building their own game engine called "Fox Engine" for an untitled upcoming game project. Kojima, like always, is not giving any hint to what the project is, but he did show how the Fox Engine looks.

Kojima says that all the stuff in this picture has nothing to do with their project, instead it is just a few sample models, textures, ect. The engine looks pretty nice and clean; it is also to be a cross platformed engine with supposedly impressive development tools. It will be nice if it came with a development kit also, lots of people would want to get their hands on it I'm sure.

That's not all for Kojima, he has also announced that there will be a Metal Gear Solid HD Collection hitting stores this November. The collection will include Metal Gear Solid 2, Metal Gear Solid 3 and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. I would more enjoy a complete Metal Gear Collection, now that is something I would throw my money at.
