Zelda Comes Out On The iPod, But It's Not Made By Nintendo

October 12, 2011 0 comments

Ripping off other people's ideas has been happening since the dawn of time and Nintendo's games aren't safe against those people and it easily shows in Ultimate iZelda Climb made by Scott Avy.

Ultimate iZelda Crimb is the most obviously knock-off game every created. First, the main menu's picture comes from Kevin Keel's "Hey! Listen! Hey!" artwork and the Zelda you control was completely taken from Wind Waker. Scott Avy is also known for making other rip-offs like Call of Duty, Hello Kitty and World of Warcraft. It would be understandable if this was made for fun and made free for everyone, but this guy is actually selling his app for $0.99, so he's making money while ripping other games off.

If you still don't believe me, then take a gander at these screenshots from Ultimate iZelda Climb.

Once this gets Nintendo's attention, then I'm sure they'll demand that Apple takes the app down. I'm just surprised that Apple let this slide since they have to review the apps.

Zelda Producer Wants A Zelda Movie

July 24, 2011 0 comments

Eiji Aonuma would love if he could do a Zelda film, but he would have to have access to an unlimited budget. In an interview with Nintendo power, he states his feelings towards a Legend of Zelda movie:

“I always thought it would be really cool to have a real Zelda movie, something really grand and sweeping”.

“I have neither the time nor the wherewithal for all that and even if I did have the money to make such a movie, I don’t know if it would turn out well”.

“How cool it would be if something like that would happen sometime in the future.”

A Legend of Zelda movie seems cool, but I'm concerned how it will work out since most of the time the movie will be silent except for when other people are talking and music going on in the background.

Zelda Wii U Demo Won't Look Like The Final?

July 3, 2011 0 comments

Everyone remembers the Zelda Demo on the Wii U, but it might not be the final look for the game. In an interview over at Wired, Zelda Producer Eiji Aonuma talks about the Zelda Demo on the Gamecube when it was introduced and how it completely changed with Wind Waker being the end result.

“You probably remember that when we introduced the GameCube, we showed a somewhat realistic Zelda demo,” he said. “And what we actually created was the cel-shaded Wind Waker. So when we show a graphic demo, people think, ‘Oh, this is what the next Zelda will look like,’ but that’s not necessarily the case,” he said.

The Zelda Wii U Demo looks amazingly nice and polished, I would not mind it looking like that at all. And if Nintendo does decide to change it, I hope it will be more impressive.

New Zelda Title For The Wi iU

June 22, 2011 1 comments

People have been wondering what Legend of Zelda games this picture game from, was it a demo or a brand new game for the Wii U? Well, Miyamoto finally laid our wondering heads to rest, he has officially confirmed that there will be a new Legend of Zelda game for the Wii U.

This is an HD system, our first HD system, and we want to create a real HD Zelda game for it. You will see a lot of these in-depth and deep experiences in terms of visual style. You will also see some play styles that are fun and interesting because of the play structure. You have a screen available at any time that you can check. This dedicated second screen, and the way people may use it, not just for gaming, but to do things like browse the Internet, is the Wii U’s single, biggest design accomplishment. When you look at most TVs in home nowadays it takes awhile for them to turn on. That becomes a barrier for people.

I'm actually quite surprised that Nintendo is dishing out a new Zelda game since Skyward Sword isn't even out yet. Just shows that they're on top of things. If they're working on it now, then does that mean that this new Zelda game could be a release title for the Wii U?

Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword Easter Egg

May 4, 2011 0 comments

I just found this video and found it pretty interesting, the new Legend of Zelda game has an easter egg within its theme song. Listen to the whole thing and you'll be able to figure it out.

I will have to say though, I am not a big fan of the theme. It sounds pretty different, but in a bad way. I cannot really put my finger on it, but it is pretty disappointing. I just hope the rest of the music in Skyward Sword isn't like this at all.

Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword Trailer

New trailer for Legend of Zelda: Skyward sword came out today. Looks like a combination of Twilight Princess and the old LoZ games. A bit of a different look, but looks very nice.

Week Roundup

February 21, 2011 0 comments

I've been quite busy the last past week and haven't been able to inform anyone on some news. So here's a long round up of things that have happened during the past week.

New screen shots of Arkham City has been released last Wednesday, hopefully you guys will get the Black Mask picture.

A lot of buzz has been surrounding Dead Island. The Call of Juarez makers, Techland, has finally picked up Dead Island after a hiatus of three years. The trailer looks absolutely beautiful and sad at the same time.

Along with the game, a rumor has been going out that the publishers of Dead Island are considering a movie adaptation, despite the many zombies movies that are already out. If a movie will happen, hopefully they will bring something new to the table and will not be a typical zombie movie.

As everyone knows, MvC3 came out this week and so far it's doing incredible. I've got my copy for my PS3 practicing until I'm good enough for online play.

If you haven't heard, today is Link's birthday, along with Zelda, Hyrule and other proper nouns in the Legend of Zelda universe. They all turn 25 today, 25 years since it's release in Japan. The Legend of Zelda is a top selling game that continues to grow and will most likely grow even more for God knows how long.

In the world of comics, many 90's kids childhood memories will be coming back at them. Duck Tales will be getting it's own ongoing series written by Epic Mickey's Warren Spector. Watch it hit stores this May, along with tons of near 15-20 year old people drooling over this new Duck Tales adaptation.

The first Fear Itself comic hits shelves March 16 with it's prologue. The prologue gives us the background of Marvel's upcoming event with the comic revolving around the Red Skull. And I've got some previews for you.
