Overkill And Valve Team Up For New Game

May 21, 2012 0 comments

Developers Overkill have announced today that they will be teaming up with Valve in order to create a game that is a cross blend between Overkill's game Payday: The Heist and Valve's Left 4 Dead.

"We are working on a very cool blend of Payday and Left 4 Dead," says Overkill's game director Ulf Andersson. "I am sure it is so exciting that it will have some players check into the hospital before we are done.”

Both games have pretty similiar core gameplay as you and three friends team-up in order to fend off against mass waves of enemies, but in Left 4 Dead you're bashing zombies and in Payday you're robbing banks.

Play Dead Air To Get Blood Harvest

August 6, 2011 0 comments

After the success of Cold Stream, Valve is giving Left 4 Dead players another chance to get early access to a beta version of another map remake.

Playing Cold Stream gave us access to the imported Dead Air map, and now playing Dead Air will give us a beta version of Blood Harvest. This time, Valve is asking for players to okay a full game of Versus in Dead Air to get an achievement, and once 60,000 people get that one achievement, the beta version of Blood Harvest will be released the following weekday.

Within 24 hours, the Cold Stream beta got o little over 60,000 players, so I really wouldn't be surprised if players get this done fast.

Valve's Release Of Comics

July 11, 2011 0 comments

Valve and Dark Horse Comics has teamed up to release a collection of Valve comics, the comics being released are all the comics Valve has done to promote their games. The 304 paged collection comic will include both Lab Rat and The Sacrifice along with other comics; don't worry, the Team Fortress 2 comics will also be included. Expect Valve Presents: The Sacrifice and other Steam-Powered Stories to hit shelves on November 16th for $30, it would be a nice thing to add to your bookshelf if you're a comic reader.

60,774 Players On Cold Stream

July 7, 2011 0 comments

After 4 and a half hours after Valve announced them wanting 20,000 players to play on Cold Stream before this Sunday to get early access to Dead Air, people surpassed that 20,000 limit. By 5 p.m. it hit 30,000 and after 24 hours since announcement, a 60,774 limit was reached. Since the limit was reached, Valve will be keeping their promise to us, but more importantly (to me) many many bugs will be fixed due to all the players submitting their feedback.

The new Dead Air map will be available at least by the 22nd, they are currently doing a little more testing and will release it once they are done. Dead Air isn't the only map being redone, the Dark Carnival Finale is also getting tweaked along with other finales, no word on the exact date except for a "when we finish".

Play One L4D2 Map, Get Another For Free

Any of you Left 4 Dead players want access to a brand new map early? Well Valve has released a blog on the Left 4 Dead site saying that if 20,000 players play through the Cold Stream campaign by Sunday, they Dead Air campaign will be released early.

If you don't know what Cold Stream is, it is a pain in the ass beta map. I've played it multiple times and even for a beta, it was so many problems. But you're put into a forestry area following a creek to safety. I have yet been able to finish the map due to its various amount of bugs, but it is a nice map to play on despite the glitches and whatnot. One part of the map I like is that you have to be careful with a strong current or you'll get thrown down a waterfall, I thought that was an intelligent little addition to the game.

Try out the buggy map for early access to Dead Air, and if you don't have Left 4 Dead 2, well now's your chance to get it since it's only $4.99 today.

Left 4 Dead In Real Life

Ever wondered what Left 4 Dead would look like if it featured real life people? Well now you can; this video features people who share similar physical qualities with the cast of Left 4 Dead. Sure they might look like Francis, Luis, Zoey and Bill, but their acting cannot make them those characters alone. Not even the music is good enough to help them.

New Thunderbolts, Fear partially explained and more!

December 20, 2010 0 comments

So I've been busy this weekend and have not been able to update the blog. Well, here I am with some updates.

First off, another Marvel Fear picture has surfaced.
I'm getting pretty hyped up about this. And the next news worthy post is even better than this picture: An explanation on what Fear is about. Tomorrow at noon (December 21st, Eastern Time) at Marvel.com, Fear is going be be revealed live. So tune in and find out what all this is about.

Thunderbolts wants a new team member, and we readers get to decide who we want. There's a pole going on with 13 characters that we get to chose from along with an "other" box. I haven't decided whom I want on the team yet. But here's the link so you can vote:

So Age of X isn't just about the X-Men. Age of X will also follow the Avengers. A world without X-Men just doesn't effect X-Men related things, it effects the whole world it seems. Age of X: Universe #1 hits shelves in March of 2011.

New screenies for Arkham City has showed his face. Looks like Batman is laying down a beating on some thugs.

Infamous is getting it's own mini comic series brought to you by DC comics. This mini series takes place between the first and second game. Am I the only one that hopes for a JLU cameo?

Valve has released two new Left 4 Dead plushies to their store for preorder. They're suppose to ship on the 27th and are 10% off for a limited time. So go get yourself a box of them. The Hunter stands at 10 inches tall and the Tank is a whopping 13 inches.

Last but not least; the Illusive man from Mass Effect is getting an origin thanks to Dark Horse comics. Mass Effect 2's lead writer (Mac Walters) will be writing Mass Effect: Evolution. Not much is being said about it, but don't worry though, it's canon.

Well, that's it for now I guess. That's all of the things I've learned so far while I've been away from the internet
