PC Users Can Test Out The New Skyrim Patch Now

January 23, 2012 0 comments

Skyrim PC players can get a chance to test out Skyrim Update Patch 1.4 through Steam before it officially comes out.

"Be sure to back up your saved games or simply be careful not to overwrite your existing saves," says Bethesda. "If you decide to opt out of the beta program, your old saves will still work with the current release of Skyrim (v 1.3)."

If you want to try out the beta patch, then head over to Settings in Steam, go to the Account tab, click on Change under Beta Participation and select the Skyrim Beta and select OK.  After you do all that, you are then all set to try the patch, but remember to back up your save files that are found in the Skryim folder under My Games in My Documents.

The Skyrim 1.4 Update Will Fix All Of This

January 19, 2012 2 comments

Bethesda will soon be rolling out Skyrim update v1.4 sometime next week as it is currently undergoing some testing to make sure everything works; the update is for the PC and consoles.

PC users will be able to try out the update as a beta to see if it is better or worse than the current update; if they like the update then they can stick with it, if they don't then they can opt-out.

"Our current update plan for the PC is to first release our updates as 'beta' versions through Steam," Bethesda said in a blogpost.. "This is something you’ll be able to opt into through Steam and back-out of if needed. This is an extra safety check for everyone going forward and should expedite and improve our updating process for our PC users. We’ll have more info soon on how this will work."

I can't wait for the update to come out; I'm getting annoyed that my game crashes 10 times in one playing. Here is the full list of the 1.4 changelog.

Hey Guys, I haven't been doing much posts lately, Just mainly because I've been busy with work, school and my new addiction that is Skyrim. However I've just beaten the main quest and will be starting my review of 2011's game of the year.

Man Wants To Ban And Destroy All Skyrim Copies Through A Petition

November 25, 2011 5 comments

What do you get when the White House website let's anyone above the age of 13 start a petition about whatever they want? A crazy person trying to make owning Skyrim illegal.

On Thanksgiving, a petition started by a man in Tennesee calls that the Obama Administration seizes all copies of Skyrim, burn them and purge them from existence. Don't believe me? Don't worry, I wouldn't either, but here's the full petition which can be found here. Here's the full petition for those who don't want to click:

"We petition the obama administration to:

Immediately Ban the Deadly Videogame Known as "SkyRim" for The Safety of America's Youths.

Whereas videogaming has proven to cause social, ethical and health problems in people of all ages,

Whereas sexual perversion and homosexuality are threatening to destroy the Christian foundations on which this nation was built,

Whereas a new video game has just been created that far exceeds any others in the psychological and spiritual damage it does to teens,

We, the American people, today ask you,

1) To enact an immediate ban on the videogame known as "SkyRim" produced by Blizzard Entertainment.

2) To seize and destroy all copies already in public hands and erase its presence on the internet.

3) To prosecute the players of "SkyRim" to the fullest extent of the law.

4) To create a national database of videogame avatars and "screen names" so that teenagers can be better monitored."

The petition currently has 8 digital signatures and needs 24,992 more before December 24, 2011.

How many discs will Skyrim on the 360 use?

August 29, 2011 0 comments

The PS3 has extra memory space allowing us to play a full game without changing to another disc. The Xbox 360 is not as fortunate. Games like L.A. Noire and Final Fantasy XIII had to use 3 discs on the Xbox 360. So with a game as big and extravagant as the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim would require multiple dics to enjoy the whole game.

Is that the second disc behind?

How many will Skyrim use for the 360? One. Bethesda's Artistic Director Matt Corofano confirmed that the Elder Scrolls will require only one disc on the 360. The other disc in the case? That will be the Making-of disc available to those who are getting the collectors edition.

Skyrim DLC coming to Xbox live first

August 26, 2011 0 comments

Microsoft and Bethesda recently announced that the first two DLC packs of Skyrim 5: The elder scrolls will be first released on Xbox Live. MS most likely paid Bethesda to make the LC come out first. (Maybe)

Don't worry PC and PS3 users, the DLC will be available for you 30 days after the initial release of the Content. However news on what the DLC is, when it will be released and how much it costs is still unknown.

And honestly, even as a 360 owner, this makes no sense to me why Bethesda would do something like this.

Skyrim Collector's Edition Announced At QuakeCon

August 5, 2011 0 comments

Today at QuakeCon an announcement was made for the collector's edition of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. The set will include with the game:

  • 12" dragon statue
  • 200 page art book
  • Making of Skyrim DVD
  • Cloth Map
You can own all that for the price of $149.99 on November 11th. If I were more interested in the game, I'd get it; that statue looks really nice.
