September 17, 2012 0 comments

If you've always wanted to play Sonic Adventure 2, quite possibly the best Sonic Games ever made, and NiGHTS into dreams on your Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 then look no further as these 2 titles will be available for download sooner than you think.

Both games will be available on PlayStation Network on October 2 for 9.99 and the 5th on Xbox Live for 800 MS points. If you want to "enhance" your SA2 experience, you can download the Battle Mode DLC for $3.00 (240 MS points) on the games release which contains new maps and game modes for 2 player and even Chao Karate, yeah, that's totally not a rip off.

Luckily if you're getting NiGHTS into dreams then you will be getting the Christmas NiGHTS expansion, once only available from a Saturn promotion, for absolutely free.

I definitely can't wait to get SA2 and restart my chao garden again.

Sega Announces Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2

December 29, 2011 0 comments

Things have been pretty quiet in the world of gaming, until Sega officially announced the sequel to Sonic's Arcade title, which confirms both Tails and Metal Sonic.

Gamespot was the first to get their hands on some new details concerning the new game in this inerview and has released the games first trailer.

Trailer

Interview

The part I'm probably most excited for is the new physics engine that they will be using. For those who didn't play episode I, while the game was still fun it had one of the WORST physics engines I've ever seen. Sonic felt really slow and clunky and his movement was just plain awkward. Episode 2 will be released sometime in 2012.

PlayStation Network Accounts Connected To Vita's Memory Cards

December 8, 2011 0 comments

Sony is trying something a bit different with the PlayStation Vita. User accounts won't be connected through the hardware inside the Vita, but instead it will be connected with the memory card that the games are downloaded onto.

“Your PSN ID is bonded to your memory card and your memory card is bonded to your Vita,” Sony associate brand marketing manager Crystal MacKenzie said. “So if you wanted to change different PSN users but use the same memory card, you would need to go factory reset.”

You can also have your PlayStation Network user data tied to more than one memory card if you have more than one card.

Sony Offers The UMD Passport For PlayStation Vita

November 11, 2011 0 comments

We all know that the PlayStation Vita won't support UMD discs, but that doesn't mean that it won't support your old UMD games since Sony has now addressed that problem.

The solution to the PlayStation Vita is titled - UMD Passport. What the UMD Passport will do it allow players to transfer your UMD titles to your PlayStation Vita via registering it to your account; the steps for this is quite easy:

  • First you download a UMD Registration Application from PlayStation Store to your PSP.
  • Boot up the UMD Registration App from your PSP and insert the UMD games you want to register.
  • Follo the instructions to register your UMD disc with your PSN account
  • You can then download the downloadable version of your game at discount price.

This system won't come out until December 6th in Japan, but it will most likely also come out in U.S. as well. As of now, only 40 game companies are offering 200 UMD titles that will take part in the UMD Passport.

PSN Pass Will Be Included In Uncharted 3 Multiplayer

October 2, 2011 0 comments

It has been announced today that Sony will be including their not so ideal PSN Pass for all new copies of Uncharted 3; if you want to play the multiplayer, then you have to either get a new copy or spend $10 for the PSN Pass.

For those who don't know what the PSN Pass is, it's a code that Sony put in Resistance 3 that you had to input in order to play the game online, but now they are now including the pass in Uncharted 3. This isn't bad news for people who are planning on buying the game new, but it will give consumers who are planning to get Uncharted 3 used a hassle; you will be forced to spend an extra $10 to get the code to play the Uncharted 3 multiplayer.

Gordon Freeman Is Finally In A Game, But It's Not Half-Life 3

September 26, 2011 0 comments

Gordon Freeman is a man of many talents, he's a physicist, a hero, a gun slinging hero, a man of no voice and a freedom fighter. Freeman now has something else to add to his list of expertise - a mad driver.

Valve has allowed Sega to put Gordon Freeman in Renegade Ops, a vehicle based shooter game that allows total annihilation with cars. Gordon Freeman will be driving his classic Buggy as he controls Antlions to attack his enemies.

Renegade Ops will be featured on the PSN and XBLA along with a PC version exclusive to Steam with a cost of $15, you can pre-order it now before it comes out October 14.

Dungeon Defenders

September 12, 2011 0 comments

Today I was just simply browsing through the internet and just so happened to stumble upon this little game. Now I have another game on my list of must-haves.

Dungeon Defenders is a four-player co-op tower defense game with hack n' slash gameplay and rich RPG character customization. You and three of your friends on xbox live, PSN or PC can team up to build your defenses then fight enemy forces wave after wave of enemies.

Castle Crashers meets Starcraft?

The game will feature 4 playable and customizable classes.

The Squire, a knight-in-training who specializes in melee combat and builds artillery for defending your castles. He can build harpoon and cannonball turrets, counter-blockades and uses the blood-rage ability to momentarily boost his stats, a great strategy for fighting the front lines. And yes, he's not wearing pants.

This guy tells peace to piss-off. The monk is a master of the spear and spell-casting, and is a great support class to his allies and tower and a deadly force to his enemies. Using his mastery of aura, he can cripple and stun enemy forces and even heal his team mates. Looks like Aang's more bad ass cousin.

Stealth and trickery more your thing? The huntress is the class for you! Mastering in long range weaponry and stealth reconnaissance, she can set up a trap right in front of you without you seeing her, then get shot by her crossbow from a distance. Gas traps, bottomless pits and a barrage of arrows await her enemies.

Every medieval game needs a wizard class, and that is just what the apprentice is. His knowledge of the arcane can create giant walls and attack towers to turn the tides of the battle. He can spawn a magic blockade and towers that shoot fire, lightning and energy to distract enemies and use magic to attack from a safe distance.

This new developer diary gives us an in-depth look at the amazing new gameplay and the features Defenders has to offer.

Dungeon Defenders will be available on Xbox Live, Steam, iphone, Android and PC vita on October 19th. A PSN release date has yet to be announced.

From Dust On The PSN Two Weeks Earlier Than Planned

September 9, 2011 0 comments

From Dust is going to be moved up by two weeks and will now have a release date for September 13th. The game will still be $14.99, and I most likely will be getting it.

Dead Nation Gets A Devestating DLC Pack

Housemarque, the developers behind Dead Nation, has announced that DLC is being finished up and will be released in the near future with no exact release date along with price. The DLC pack will be titled "The Road of Devastation" and comes with new environments along with new zombies.

In The Road to Devastation, players will find themselves in a ruined laboratory in which players will be able to take three different paths that are put in front of them. Each path given is different in its own way, they will each have different environments and enemies, which is great since replay value will be high. It's not known if each path will have a different ending or not, but that would be pretty awesome if each path had a different ending.

5th Skullgirls Character Revealed!

September 5, 2011 0 comments

Our 5th fighter to enter the brawl is known as Ms. Fortune. While her name may be somewhat of a bad pun, she looks like she's going to fit in right with the rest of the cast. Given that all we know is the above picture and a small snip of her story as shared by the Playstation Blog, we'll have to wait to see more. It is known that she can detach her body parts (probably along all those scar lines) and use them for hitting the opponent more. Maybe like a weird version of Dhalsim... Oh well, we'll have to wait and see!

We also get the second version of the developers' Friday Night Fights, where they show off how some of the characters are played. This week is a plain one-on-one fight featuring two of the other characters announced, Parasoul and Cerebella.

Skyrim DLC coming to Xbox live first

August 26, 2011 0 comments

Microsoft and Bethesda recently announced that the first two DLC packs of Skyrim 5: The elder scrolls will be first released on Xbox Live. MS most likely paid Bethesda to make the LC come out first. (Maybe)

Don't worry PC and PS3 users, the DLC will be available for you 30 days after the initial release of the Content. However news on what the DLC is, when it will be released and how much it costs is still unknown.

And honestly, even as a 360 owner, this makes no sense to me why Bethesda would do something like this.

Rumor: Sonic CD coming to Xbox Live. [UPDATE]

August 22, 2011 0 comments

Major Nelson, Microsoft's PR blogger for Xbox live might of just made a boo-boo. Today he posted on his blog (below) on upcoming activities for the Xbox booth at PAX and possibly spilled the beans on Sega's big announcement.

"Xbox 360 Booth #432
Mass Effect 3 has landed… in the Xbox 360 booth! Come on by to check it out, along with a slew of Xbox LIVE Arcade titles: Trials Evolution, Skulls of the Shogun, Crimson Alliance, Splatters, Orcs Must Die, Ms. Splosion Man, Retro City Rampage, Sonic CD, War of the Worlds and Trine 2."

This would be a huge announcement for them considering this game hardly ever gets re-released despite this being a favorite amongst old-time sonic fans. (myself included)
While no word has been said about it coming to the Playstation Network, it should be safe to say we'll know when Sega makes the actual announcement at PAX. (most likely it will)

UPDATE:
Today Sega has just confirmed that Sonic CD will not only be released on Xbox Live, but will also be available on Playstation Network, Ipod, Ipod Touch, Ipad, Windows PC, Android and Windows phone.

No official release date has been announced but Sega is planning to release it later 2011
