Dead Island DLC Allows You To Play From A New Perspective

The first DLC for Dead Island will allow players to see the zombie outbreak on Banoi from a different perspective as they play as Ryder White.

"I always like to think of antagonist characters not as evil, but simply….misunderstood," says Marketing & PR Aubrey Norris. "Ryder White was obviously suffering from a massive case of beast mood in Dead Island, and I think it's only fair we got to learn his side of the story."

The DLC allows the player to take control of the villain, Ryder White and allows them to follow a new story and bash and/or shoot some good ol' zombies. But that's not all that comes with the DLC; the DLC will also include two new blueprints and weapons for players to use against the flesh eating zombies.

The Ryder White DLC will be out on January 31 for $9.99 on the PlayStation 3, on February 1, it will be available on the Xbox 360 for 800 Microsoft Points and on Steam for $9.99.

Mass Effect 3 Won't Be Available On Steam

January 14, 2012 0 comments

It's not surprise that EA has announced that Mass Effect 3 won't be available on Steam, and it's not more of a surprise that all PC versions, digital and retail, will require EA's Origin service.

Earlier this year Crysis 2 and Dragon Age 2 were pulled from Steam for "restrictive terms of service", and according to BioWare Community Coordinator Chris Priestly, that's the same reason Mass Effect 3 will not be available on Steam.

"During initial release Mass Effect 3 will be available on Origin and a number of other 3rd party digital retailers, but not on Steam at this time," says Priestly. "Steam has adopted a set of restrictive terms of service which limit how developers interact with customers to deliver patches and other downloadable content.  We are intent on providing Mass Effect to players with the best possible experience no matter where they purchase or play their game, and are happy to partner with any download service that does not restrict our ability to connect directly with our consumers."

It is unknown whether or not EA and Valve will have their old relationship back, but let's just hope that things will get resolved before the release of Mass Effect 3.

The exact date hasn't been announced for when the remake will come out, but developers Just Add Water announced that it will be sometime this year when it comes out for the PS3, Vita and "others".

Along with an estimated date announcement, the developers released a side by side comparison of Munch; left is the old version and right is the HD remake version.

DC Might Be Changing Logos

DC Comics might be ready to upgrade their current swoosh logo with a more simplistic version.

According to Bleeding Cool, they have discovered that DC comics has submitted two logos to the Patent and Trademark office. The logo has the D in front of the C with the D being flipped like a piece of paper showing part of the C. One version has 'DC Comics' underneath the logo and the other has 'DC Entertainment'. There is no color for the logo, but color will supposedly be applied.

Day 1 Studios, the developers for F.E.A.R. 3, has announced that they were working on a Batman game that was based off of the Gotham by Gaslight story in 1989. Unfortunately though, the game got cancelled.

Gotham by Gaslight takes place in 1889 where Bruce Wayne is accused of being a serial killer who has come to Gotham - Jack the Ripper. Bruce is imprisoned after a bloody knife was found under his bed, but with the help of Alfred he was able to escape and find out who the real murderer was.

The cancelled Gotham by Gaslight game was found out when artist Julie Farrel uploaded her concept designs for the game's menu and controls on her personal blog.
