Here Is The First Marvel Heroes Trailer

May 22, 2012 0 comments

Today we have finally gotten a good glimpse of what Marvel Heroes, the free-to-play Marvel MMO, will look like.

Being worked on by developers Gazillion Entertainment, Marvel Heroes features a handful of well known and some underdogs in the Marvel Universe as it seems like they will be taking on Dr. Doom who has somehow come into possession of the Cosmic Cube.

There is no announcement for when we can expect to start playing the game, but I'm sure we'll here about that soon.

Gameinformer Reveals the Elder Scrolls Online

May 3, 2012 0 comments

The Next Issue of Gameinformer will be huge as they will have first details on one of the most wanted games from Bethesda, The Elder Scrolls will be getting an MMO.

The game will be made by Zenimax Online Studios and will use the in depth exploration of Tamriel of the Elder Scrolls and the massive scale and social interaction of an MMO. The game is set to take place a millennium before the events of Skyrim, as the Daedric prince Molag Bal tries to pull all of Tamriel into his realm in the planes of Oblivion. The Game will also use PvP conflict that pits 3 player factions against itself. What 3 factions these are unknown but can vary between the Blades, Thalmor and even the Dark Brotherhood.

GI will also be releasing a teaser trailer tomorrow featuring brief interviews of those from Bethesda and Zenimax.

While the cover isn't much, I'm still excited to see what Bethesda has planned with this.

Star Wars: The Old Republic Could Have Been A Spider-Man MMO

January 20, 2012 0 comments

A new interesting tidbit has surfaced today during a report about Star Wars: The Old Republic in the Las Angeles Times. Supposedly BioWare was planning to make a Spider-Man MMO before it turned into Star Wars: The Old Republic, but it didn't end there, there were other plans before a Spider-Man MMO.

Here is an insert from the report that explains it:

The idea for the game has its origins at a 2005 meeting between Vogel and BioWare’s Zeschuk and Muzyka, two Canadian physicians-turned-game developers. After attempts to adapt “Lord of the Rings,” “A Game of Thrones” and Marvel comic book super-heroes like such as Spider-Man, the team signed a co-publishing deal with “Star Wars” creator George Lucas.

Marvel Heroes Will Be Using Unreal Engine 3

January 17, 2012 0 comments

Marvel Heroes seems like it's going to be intense graphics wise despite it being a free-to-play MMO, considering it's just been announced that the game will be using Epic's Unreal Engine 3.

Graphics aren't everything though, we still don't know how the gameplay is but at least we know that the heroes and areas of Marvel are going to look pretty damn awesome.

BioWare's Star Wars: The Old Republic is a big hit with it being released just three days ago. According to BioWare there are:

  • Logged 28 million in-game hours – roughly equivalent to watching all six Star Wars movies, two million times.
  • Averaged well over five hours a day playing the game.
  • Created more than 3.8 million characters; 510,000 Jedi Knights and 550,000 Sith Warriors.

It looks like this is the closest anyone has become to being a "WoW Killer". BioWare is claiming that Star Wars: The Old Republic is the fastest-growing MMO in history with it's millions of members in just a few days.

LEGO Universe Servers Shutting

November 4, 2011 0 comments

LEGO Universe will soon be closing down their servers early next year, meaning that the LEGO MMO will fade away.

“Right now, we have almost 2 million players in LEGO Universe, and we get extremely positive feedback from players," says Jesper Vilstrup, Vice President of LEGO Group. "Unfortunately, we have not been able to build a satisfactory revenue model in our target group, and therefore, have decided to close the game.”

LEGO Group is closing down the servers to LEGO Universe due to the fact that they can't get their free-to-play players to become premium members, and you become a premium member by spending money.

The game will go all the way to Junary 31, 2012 until it will meet its end.

The Secret World

July 6, 2011 0 comments

Funcom has an upcoming game coming out called The Secret World, which involves secret societies, the supernatural, and British people. This horror looking MMO doesn't have a lot of information about itself except for the fact that it involves vampires, demons and zombies in different locations around the world. And your roles as the character is that you belong to a certain type of secret society to rid the Earth of these unnatural creatures. These gun totin' societies include:
  • Dragon - "The Art of Chaos - Unknowable instigators of change, through quiet violence they create tiny ripples that grow into sweeping tsunamies"
  • Illuminati - "Sex Drugs and Rockefeller - Invisible puppet-masters and corporate manipulators, they crave power and weaalth by any means necessary."
  • Templars - "Deliverance From Evil - The old guard; suave and sophisticated, but fiercely brutal and uncompromising in their crusade against darkness."
It looks like that there will be a good amount of customization also, you can change your wardrobe with no restrictions, you can dress any way you like. Along with a different look, you can wield any weapon of your choice, whether it be magic or bullets.

And those characters are too fight a fearsome group enemies, the monsters look extremely intriguing and horrifying and there are more to be announced besides the Wendigo, Deep Ones, The Akab, The Revenant, The Draug, Fire Djinn, Scarecrow, Spectres amd Zombie Hulk (HULK EAT Braaaaaaaaains).

Secret World is something that just caught my eye, this will surely be going on my wishlist. I'm not too sure of the release date of this game but I want it!

Marvel Goes MMO

April 30, 2011 1 comments

Marvel has announced their next biggest video game plan: A free to play MMO. It's all free that lets you play as any character in any Marvel event that's taken place from the 60's to now from the 616 universe. But that won't be the only universe you can explore, the Ultimate Universe will be included along with the Marvel Studio films.

You do not get to make your own character, instead you choose any character from a supposedly extreme list that tops any Marvel game. So far they have revealed Thor, Captain America, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Nova and Squirrel Girl.

The first platform to be getting this new Marvel game will be PC first with a TBA release date, then the consoles will get their releases.

People are wondering if it will be Disney like, and luckily Bendis has said that it won't be Disney like at all. The target audience are the adults.

So far, this sounds like it will be a big project, there seems to be a lot going on with the game. I'm extremely excited for this and will try to keep an eye on the progress. I might play as Squirrel Girl and unleash an army of Squirrels on Doctor Doom, I hope they'll let us do that. But for more information, take a gander here.

Razer Switchblade

January 10, 2011 0 comments

When it comes to gaming, Razer does not mess around. The people at Razer Zone has designed on for gamers, and I'm impressed. This baby is powered by Intel's Atom processor, which brings a powerful punch for quite a few games. What I like about this is that you can play an FPS on it along with RTS/MMO/Casual games. And with each game type, the keyboard scheme changes. For example, if you're launching up WoW on it, you have all your macro keys and arrow keys and for your FPS games, you have arrow keys and attack keys. These are just concept designs, so there is no release date nor price for it at the moment. And don't you think this is just limited to gaming. The Switchblade will be running Windows 7 with Wi-fi and 3G service. Oh, and for you FPS freaks, don't worry, you're able to plug in a portable mouse.

I love Razer, they make excellent products. I have a couple of their products and I'm completely satisfied with them, so I'm pretty sure that the Switchblade (just the project name, not the actual name for their new PC) will do well and have major hits. If I ever had extra money for it, I would buy it (even if it did cost an arm and a leg)

Superheroes and Dinosuars

December 22, 2010 0 comments

Super heroes and dinosaurs; the two greatest topics. DC Comics' new MMO is only a few weeks away from being released on the PC and PS3. It's set to be released on January 11th with the first 30 days fee. But after that, it's going to cost you 15 bucks a month. But for those dedicated fans, a life time subscription is only $199! I was hoping to play DCUO, but I don't have the money to pay $15 a month. Ah, oh well.

Jet-packs, guns, vehicles, and dinosaurs are elements in a game you'd think you would ever see. But thanks to Spiral Game Studio's newest game, Orion: Prelude, it is possible! Their beta will start sometime next year. You can register at their site to try and get it. Another Dino game that looks awesome that I want, despite it looking a bit like Halo.(Did I mention it's a multiplayer game?)
