Ultimate Fallout #01

July 15, 2011 1 comments

I've said this once, and I'll say it again, Ultimate Spider-Man is one of my favorite comic series and Ultimate Fallout is an excellent issue to prove that. Ultimate Fallout is a six issue miniseries that follows the aftermath of Death of Spider-Man written by Michael Bendis and penciled by Mark Bagley, both Michael and Marc have been working together since the beginning of Ultimate Spider-Man, and thanks to them both, it got me back into comics since it was first released.

Issue one of Ultimate Fallout was a great comic if you're looking for something that will get you to tear up a bit; it was short but extremely great. Everyone from Parker's household is grieving in their own way as Mary Jane is trying to find out who was responsible for Spider-Man's death, which she believes is Nick Fury. I don't blame her, if it weren't for Nick Fury trying to take back S.H.I.E.L.D. (which he thinks is rightfully his), then Punisher would never have taken the shot at Cap.

The one scene that got the waterworks going was when Aunt May was walking into the church of where Peter's funeral was behind held and a little girl asked her if she was Spider-Man's mommy.

Michael Bendis knows how to do Ultimate Spider-Man and with that, he knows how to do the right emotions for each character within the comic. This is probably one of my favorite comics that's Ultimate Spider-Man related, the Death of Spider-Man was great and it's follow up is starting to show great promise.

Ultimate Fallout Preview

Peter Parker is no more in the Ultimate Universe, but does that mean the end of Spider-Man? This Wednesday we'll find out what is in store as the story of Spider-Man's death continues in Ultimate Fallout.

So what does Bendis have store in us for Spider-Man? We know that Spider-Man isn't done with.

Who is this mysterious person wearing a new and improved Spidey outfit? There's speculation that it might be an Ultimate version of Miguel O'Hara, if that is the case, then things would get extremely interesting; I would love to see how they would introduce a new character and Miguel's new background and definitely see if he has the same attitude as he does in Spider-Man 2099.

My favorite panels are the one with Jonah and Jonny, I got chills when I first was reading the preview; I've always been drawn so deeply in Ultimate Spider-Man, it is probably one of my favorite things Bendis has done, even though his writing with other titles aren't the greatest things.

New Avengers Gains The Daredevil With Osborn Returning

June 11, 2011 0 comments

After Daredevil's meltdown in Hell's Kitchen and his journey of to find himself within 4 issues, Matt Murdock will be making a return to New York as a bonafied New Avengers member. Along with Daredevil's return, Norman Osborn shows his face to the world after being improperly imprisoned due to his attack on Asgard.

You've got the return of a hero and the return of a villain; a perfect way to balance out each other. I am not too sure if this means this is the end of Black Panther being the Man Without Fear, I hope it isn't 'cause I am absolutely loving Black Panther's new change in Hell's Kitchen. I'm sure that Murdock will be too busy hanging with his new team and will continue leaving Panther do his own thing.

Another interesting thing is the whole Norman Osborn coming back in the New Avengers comic, since Spider-Man is a member of the New Avengers, how will he take the news of Osborn's return? Whatever will be going on, we will be able to find out in New Avengers #19.1.

I just realized though, New Avengers will be filled with a lot of street leveled heroes, something Bendis is excellent at.

Today's Comicbook Read

Today Marvel released Fear Itself 2/Spider-Man/The Home Front and Moon Knight. I have been waiting for this moment and will be reading these glorious comics later tonight.

At first I did not realize that Fear Itself came out today, but once I found out, I knew I would be giggling around on my bed reading it along with Moon Knight. I'll be writing a review for all of them possibly tomorrow.

I am hoping that Bendis does a good job on Moon Knight, despite knowing most of his other work. I will have to say though, I did enjoy his work on Ultimate Spider-Man. Either way, the new Moon Knight sounds like it can have some very good potential. Maybe this can beat Charlie Hudson's run on Moon Knight, that will be an extremely hard thing to do though.

Marvel Goes MMO

Marvel has announced their next biggest video game plan: A free to play MMO. It's all free that lets you play as any character in any Marvel event that's taken place from the 60's to now from the 616 universe. But that won't be the only universe you can explore, the Ultimate Universe will be included along with the Marvel Studio films.

You do not get to make your own character, instead you choose any character from a supposedly extreme list that tops any Marvel game. So far they have revealed Thor, Captain America, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Nova and Squirrel Girl.

The first platform to be getting this new Marvel game will be PC first with a TBA release date, then the consoles will get their releases.

People are wondering if it will be Disney like, and luckily Bendis has said that it won't be Disney like at all. The target audience are the adults.

So far, this sounds like it will be a big project, there seems to be a lot going on with the game. I'm extremely excited for this and will try to keep an eye on the progress. I might play as Squirrel Girl and unleash an army of Squirrels on Doctor Doom, I hope they'll let us do that. But for more information, take a gander here.

New Moon Knight Comic

A new Moon Knight comic will be hitting shelves this May. I have a love hate relationship with Bendis, I thought he was amazing with Ultimate Spider-Man, but his work with the current Avengers is not the best. Even his Bendis Speak is starting to get to me. Let's hope that this comic will fall under his good work category.

But I love Moon Knight, his last volume was incredible and his work in the Avengers is a fun twist. So I'm excited about this and will be getting this new installment of Moon Knight.
