January 30, 2012 0 comments

Seeing movies in 3D are pretty expensive, movie theaters should offer something to definitely make the extra cash worth it. Luckily some theaters will be offering some pretty cool 3D glasses for The Avengers.

Special 3D glasses will be given out at participating theaters, that resembles four of the Avengers in a stylish way, as you can choose to sport Iron Man, Thor, Hulk or Captain America. The glasses are going to cost you an additional $5 to your regular ticket price, but they might be actually worth it.

Watch The Avengers on the big screen on May 4, 2012.

A Link To The Past Might Be Remade For The 3DS

November 10, 2011 0 comments

It's no doubt that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D has been successful for Nintendo, but what other Zelda titles will Nintendo release for the 3DS? We know that a new title is in the works on Majora's Mask might be a possibility, but what about The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past being remade for the 3DS?

"Well actually, even Mr. Miyamoto himself has been talking recently about going back to the 2D Zelda games," said Eiji Aonuma, "in particular the ones that were designed with multiple levels to the world like A Link to the Past, and taking those 2D graphics and recreating them in 3D so that you could get a sense for the depth of those worlds. That's something that might be interesting to do, so I would say there might be a possibility of something like that in the future."

I remake of A Link to the Past would be really interesting, but I just don't see it as a game that would be on the 3DS, the only thing Nintendo could do is make the levels pop out at you just like what Aonuma said; all the levels have depth to it, whether it be hills or a second floor in dungeons.

The 3DS is known for one thing, it's 3D capability. It has 3D games, 3D pictures, 3D everything, except for 3D video recording. But that's all in the past now as a new updates gives the 3Ds 3D video recording.

Netflix Isn't Getting 3D At All

Nintendo said there will me 3D service on Netflix, but Netflix says there won't. That's what everyone believed at least until Nintendo cleared it up for us. The original statement about 3D being on Netflix from Nintendo states:

The new Netflix application for Nintendo 3DS displays movies and TV episodes in 2D on the system’s upper screen. Users will soon have access to an additional library of select movies that can be viewed in 3D without the need for special glasses.

People thought that the whole statement was about Netflix, but in reality, only the first part was. The second part was about the Nintendo Video App that's to come out later this summer. Oops!

The press release announcing the new Netflix service for Nintendo 3DS also references the system's upcoming short-form video service. Nintendo 3DS owners soon will be able to enjoy free, specially selected video content that includes 3D movie trailers, comedy clips and music videos.

Will the Wii U Support 3D?

July 6, 2011 0 comments

Mercury News had an interview with Satoru Iwata but with one question that stands out from the rest. "Is the Wii U Going to Support 3-D?" In which Iwata replied

"If you are going to connect Wii U with a home TV capable of displaying 3-D images, technologically, yes, it is going to be possible, but that's not the area we are focusing on.
When it comes to 3-D, we already have the 3DS, and each owner of the Nintendo 3DS is capable of viewing 3-D images. However, when it comes to the home console, it depends upon the availability of 3-D TV sets at home, which, unfortunately, is not expanding enough. And rather than pouring a lot of energy into that kind of area, with the Wii U we'd like to focus more on each Wii U owner being able to have an equal opportunity to enjoy it."

The Wii U might not be 3D capable unless a 3D TV set blows Nintendo's mind and catches their attention; the chance for the Wii U to have 3D looks quite slim. I personally do not mind if it won't have 3D since I neither own a TV capable of the third dimension nor am I even slightly interested in 3D gaming experience; I really do not think that 3D will make such a boom for gaming, especially with the prices of the TVs.

May The 4th Be With You

Over at this Star Wars website, there is a countdown going on and will reach 0 tomorrow on "May The 4th Be With You" day that will lead into an announcement. No one is quite sure what the announcement is, but some people are speculating a Blu-ray 3D complete saga movie set. If this is true, then I will be a sucker and buy it, which will probably cost quite a lot for me. But hey, it might not be a movie, it might be a new game or something. Either way, we'll find out tomorrow.
