Joss Whedon Might Not Be Returning For Avengers 2

May 18, 2012 0 comments

It seems like Joss Whedone might be contemplating on returning to direct and writer the sequel to one of the most top grossing movies of all time.

In an interview with Hero Complex, Whedon explains that he is torn about returning for Avengers 2.

“It’s an enormous amount of work telling what is ultimately somebody else’s story, even though I feel like I did get to put myself into it," says Whedon. "But at the same time, I have a bunch of ideas, and they all seem really cool.”

Hopefully Whedon won't feel torn about returning anytime soon as it is no doubt that it was his doing that make The Avengers such a blockbuster hit.

The Avengers 2 Announced

May 8, 2012 0 comments

It is no argument that The Avengers was a huge success, especially when it had a ground breaking record of obtaining $207.1 million during it's opening weekend in just North America. Because of it's huge success, the sequel to the Avengers has been announced.

During a Disney conference yesterday, CEo Bob Iger announced that Avengers 2 is currently being worked on and that it will be out sometime after Captain America 2, Thor 2 and Iron Man 3. It is not known if Joss Whedon will return to work on The Avengers but it is pretty well known that the sequel will most likely focus around Thanos, who was shown at the end of the movie.

Avengers: Battle For Earth Might Be A New Avengers Game

May 5, 2012 0 comments

Apparently an Avenger related game might be coming out eventually and it will be called Avengers: Battle for Earth.

According to Domain Tools, Marvel has registered the domain name AvengersBattleForEarth.com a day before the released of The Avengers in theatres while Ubisoft is listed in the domain servers. Whatever this is, both marvel and Ubisoft are teaming up to obviously create something Avengers related.Maybe it might be the cancelled Avengers game THQ was working on, if only.

The Avengers Gets A Second Post Credit "Scene" (Spoilers Alert)

May 2, 2012 0 comments

Even though we here in North America have yet to see The Avengers in theatres, besides those who went to special screenings, a new scene will be added after the credits along with the one featuring...well I won't spoil it for anyone, but there will be two scenes for us to enjoy even though Kevin Feige doesn't consider it a scene.

“I will tell you this: It was not a scene. It was not a scene,” Feige insisted at the movie’s European premiere. “There’s little things. It’s been blown out of proportion. Which is fun, I like that things are blown out of proportion. Sometimes they’re true sometimes they’re not.”

The "scene" ties in with a joke made by Tony Stark and has The Avengers sitting around a table having a meal of shawarma.

The Avengers Cologne Set Review

It has been about a week since I have gotten my hands on the official Avengers Cologne Set being sold be Jads International which means I have had enough time to wear all four and have a chance to figure out which hero I like to smell like.

There are four different colognes that comes with the Avengers Cologne Set, Patriot, mark VII, Smash! and Worthy with each scent being extremely different and being way better than I thought. Each bottle holds 3.4 fluid ounces of cologne and comes in a little box with the whole thing weighing just two pounds.

When I put on the cologne, the smells really do smell like something that Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk and Thor would most like possibly wear. Each one has their own fragrant with Patriot having green lime and white pepper are first then settling down into a smell of dry oak wood. The Patriot has a very subtle scent which is good because it seems like that if it weren't subtle then it would be very strong. It does remind me though of something an older person would wear but there is a mix of youth in it (if that makes any sense at all).

Mark VII isn't very strong, but you can smell the hint of citrus it has in it which is due to the combination of mandarin and neroli with nasturtium and jasmine. The smell reminds me of something that could be fun but yet sophisticated at the same time.

Smash! is probably my favorite scent; it originally was my least favorite but it has grown on me and honestly it's very manly smelling, its something that would be worn by the manliest of the manliest men who lives in a forest. Smash! combines yuzu, bergamot, tarragon, water lily and nutmeg which gives it the citrus smell. Past the citrus smell you smell a bit of musk which is due to the sandalwood, vetiver, dry musk and warm cedar.

Worthy is a bit more musky than Smash! but it is very earth like. The combination of bergamot, frozen ginger, wheatgrass, grapefruit, aromatic cypress, dark amber and cedarwood don't seem to work as well as the other colognes, which makes Worthy my least favorite unfortunately.

At first the colognes smell weird, but they do settle down nicely and you then start to get use to the smell of them all. At first Mark VII was my favorite, then it was Patriot, Worthy and Smash!, but after getting use to them all my favorite now is Smash! with Mark VII being second, Patriot being third and Worthy being last.

The colognes are not cheesy at all like I was kind of expecting, they actually do smell like what cologne should smell like; they are not strong, they settle nicely and the combinations of the ingredients work incredibly well.

I'm not much of a cologne person, which is due to me not liking many brands, the only cologne I wear is Adidas Moves (obviously Axe [when I was young and stupid] and Old Spice doesn't count) which is an aquatic fragrance, which is my favorite smell. After getting the Avengers Cologne Set I feel as if I want to wear more cologne, even when no one is around.

I think Jads International did a great job finding scents that most identify with the heroes they represent. When I spent the $59 on them over at Urban-Collectors, I was afraid that I wasted my money on something that would smell either mediocre or something ridiculous, but luckily that is not the case at all. They scents are something I feel comfortable wearing out during special occasions or at parties.

Jads International is also selling fragrances based off of Loki (Mischief), Nick Fury (Infinity Formula) and Black Widow (Black Widow). I plan to get my hands on them; if the Avengers Set smells good then I'm sure the others will be and I'm sure Infinity Formula will smell manlier then Smash!

If you do end up wanting to try out these fragrances I would suggest getting the set considering that each bottle costs $29.99 separately while you can get four of them for about $60.

Overall I'd give the set an 8/10.

New Avengers Trailer Shows A Close Up On Unknown Villains

March 30, 2012 0 comments

Earlier today a TV spot was released for The Avengers showing off new footage for the movie, after it was released Fandango posted the same trailer but with one big difference - a close up on Loki's partners. The faces of the creatures helping Loki attack Earth looks like cybernetic being; I have no idea what it is but I'm sure speculations are running wild.

[Thanks to Titz for this great find.]

Marvel Inspired Colognes Now On Sale

March 26, 2012 0 comments

Back in January it was announced that JADS International was making a line of cologne scents based off of Marvels' upcoming The Avengers movies but they were still waiting for the okay to sell the products, now they are officially for sale.

There are seven different scents to choose from, such as Mischief, Infinity Formula Cologne, Black Widow Perfume, Patriot Cologne, Mark VII Cologne, Smash and Worthy. Each one is worth $29.99 online or you can get the Avengers Cologne Set that includes Patriot, Mark VII, Smash and Worthy for a great price of $59.99.

If you're wondering what they smell like, then these descriptions are going to be the best way to know unless you can find these at a store.

  • Patriot Cologne, Your Attack Plan: inspired by Captain America, pays homage to the confident, stand-up to bullies, hard working average Joe in everyman. The cologne features hints of green lime and white pepper with finishes of dry oak wood, sandalwood and tequila.

  • Mark VII Cologne, Armor Up: inspired by Iron Man, combines mandarin and jasmine with light patchouli to create a contemporary expression of "I don't play well with others" confidence; leaving you ready for whatever a genius, billionaire, playboy-philanthropist might encounter throughout their day.

  • Worthy Cologne, Posses the Power: inspired by Thor, is a woody citrus cologne with a combination of bergamot, frozen ginger and wheatgrass blended with a hint of fresh natural grapefruit and layered with cypress; creating a deep dry masculine almost "God-like" musk.

  • SMASH!, Be Angry: inspired by Hulk, is a clean scent with clear top notes of water lily and nutmeg, which carries on an intense woody dry down, enriched with Indian sandalwood, dry musk and warm cedar. Complimentary to full range emotions, it wears well at work, in the lab, or an evening out on the town.

  • Black Widow Perfume Russian spy, trained assassin, world-class ballerina, girl from legal department. This perfume has a clear shot of citrus slowly giving way to sensual caramel and honey. The scent dries down with a blend of bitter chocolate, clear patchouli and praline.

  • Infinity Formula Cologne – Inspired by Nick Fury, CIC of S.H.I.E.L.D., this cologne is a seductive fragrance for not just any man; but only for those who will risk everything to keep the dream of freedom alive. And sure, you could describe it as a citron cocktail smoothed over with a couple of stiff shots of tonka bean and guaiac wood; or you could just put it on and know it makes you smell good.

  • Mischief Cologne – Inspired by Thor's bad brother, Loki, this unisex fragrance combines a base of green tea and amber with bergamot and cardamom in a dangerous-sexy, yet playful way that wears well on anyone; day or night.

The Avengers Board Game Might Confirm The Skrulls

February 13, 2012 0 comments

Marvel Studio's President Keven Feige laid the Skrull appearance in The Avengers rumor to rest, but an Avengers board game from Hasbro might show otherwise.

During the Toy Fair in New York, MTV Geek snapped a few photos of little pink aliens that do look like Skrulls. It would be no surprise if Feige was just saying that there will be no Skrulls so people will get pumped up when they actually do see them on the big screen.

Look at the photos below and see if you think the board game aliens and the aliens in the newest Avengers trailer share a resemblance or not.

New Avengers Trailer Shows A Glimpse Of Loki's Team

February 5, 2012 0 comments

Avengers fans assemble as the newest trailer for Joss Whedon's the Avengers during this year's Super Bowl. This trailer gives true fans what they want; more story, more Hulk and a glimpse on who is teaming up with Loki.

Of course this trailer is going to throw down lots of speculation especially to which alien race is going to star in the movie. We know that the Skrulls and the Red Skull won't be in the movie (or are we being yanked around?) so who are these fellas? Kree? Brood? Deviants? Eternals? Or possibly aliens from Breakworld?

Breakworld beings might be possible, but at the same time it doesn't. Why might it make sense though? Joss Whedon helped co-create Ord, Kruun and other Breakworld beings; the one problem is that they are X-Men enemies not Avengers. Some Breakworldians (not the correct term) does resemble the beings in the Avengers trailer, so it might be a possibility.

They might not be aliens at all though, there could be a chance that they are Dark Elves from Svartalfheim; I can kind of see that. We are not going to know for sure what they are until we see the movie unfortunately.

January 30, 2012 0 comments

Seeing movies in 3D are pretty expensive, movie theaters should offer something to definitely make the extra cash worth it. Luckily some theaters will be offering some pretty cool 3D glasses for The Avengers.

Special 3D glasses will be given out at participating theaters, that resembles four of the Avengers in a stylish way, as you can choose to sport Iron Man, Thor, Hulk or Captain America. The glasses are going to cost you an additional $5 to your regular ticket price, but they might be actually worth it.

Watch The Avengers on the big screen on May 4, 2012.
