Phoenix's Makeover For Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3

August 30, 2011 0 comments

I know I'm a few days late on this, but I didn't find out until now, but Capcom has released images of Phoenix's new costumes for the upcoming Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 along with her updated costumes. Phoenix will be sporting six different costumes, two returning from Marvel vs. Capcom 3, two updated costumes and two new costumes.

The first to be returning from MvC3 is Pheonix's regular basic costume.

Phoenix's White Phoenix of the Crown costume will also be making an appearance.

The first updated look for Phoenix is her costume from New X-Men. In MvC3, Phoenix didn't have the X-Men logo on her chest, it was the Phoenix Force emblem instead.

Now the second Phoenix costume that was updated is the costume Jean wore in X-Men Forever, which will be called the X-Men Forever alt. costume. The difference between this new design is that the Phoenix Force Emblem was also removed from her chest.

Jean's X-Factor costume from the 80's will be making an appearance in Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3.

Last, but not least, fans will go crazy over Phoenix's last new costume for the game. Phoenix will be sporting the costume worn by another Jean from another dimension during the Age of Apocalypse. And to make things even better, Capcom has included the design under her left eye.

These alternate schemes aren't too bad, just wish that the belts were removable to give a more authentic feel, but too bad these are just color schemes and not actual costumes. Capcom will be releasing the new costumes for all characters every Tuesday and Thursday, and since today is Tuesday, a new character will be revealed. I'll bring you guys the alternate costumes once I find out.

It Was Nice Knowing You Shepard

Fans are concerned that Mass Effect 3 will be the end for everything Mass Effect, luckily Ray Mazuka, CEO of Bioware, has confirmed that Mass Effect will be going on strong despite the end of the trilogy.

Ray Mazuka says, “We have ambitious plans to continue this franchise going forward. Mass Effect 3 is simultaneously a couple of different things; a thrilling and epic conclusion to the trilogy as we promised our fans we’d provide for Commander Shepard, but it’s also a brand new beginning – it’s an entry point for new fans and it’s also a brand new beginning.”

Mazuka was then asked if this would mean the end for Commander Shepard, and his response was a bit more shocking. “After this, Commander Shepard’s story is complete," says Mazuka.

Makes sense for Shepard not to be involved in anything else after the game is complete since not everything revolves around him. This gives BioWare a chance to expand the Mass Effect Universe and other different types of planets and aliens by using video games.

Christopher Markus Expresses His Wanting For MODOK In Captain America Sequel

August 29, 2011 0 comments

Christopher Markus, a screen writer for Captain America: The First Avenger, has expressed his wanting for a Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing to be featured in the sequel to the movie.

Markus says, “I love MODOK and I think you could make a terrifying movie with MODOK but nobody seems to be on my side at the momentum”.

I really don't blame others not being on Markus' side for this one, don't get me wrong, I like M.O.D.O.K., but it's something that won't look very good on the big screen in my opinion. They should put Zemo in there or some other villain that deserves to be in a movie, but I don't think A.I.M's head honcho shouldn't be put into a movie.

How many discs will Skyrim on the 360 use?

The PS3 has extra memory space allowing us to play a full game without changing to another disc. The Xbox 360 is not as fortunate. Games like L.A. Noire and Final Fantasy XIII had to use 3 discs on the Xbox 360. So with a game as big and extravagant as the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim would require multiple dics to enjoy the whole game.

Is that the second disc behind?

How many will Skyrim use for the 360? One. Bethesda's Artistic Director Matt Corofano confirmed that the Elder Scrolls will require only one disc on the 360. The other disc in the case? That will be the Making-of disc available to those who are getting the collectors edition.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive's New Screenshots

Eight new screenshots have been released for Valve's upcoming Counter-Strike: Global Offensive showing off some new character designs along with the remakes of the classic maps. The images also shows off how nice the Source engine looks; I swear, to me, it doesn't really look like the Source engine at all.

CS:GO will be available on PC, PS3 and 360 and both PC and PS3 games will be compatible with each other and will allow cross-platform play.

Skyward Sword Gets The Gold

Gold goes well with Zelda games, which has been going on since the first release of The Legend of Zelda and is going strong with Skyward Sword being the next Zelda game to include the color. The color isn't the only thing that will be included though.

A special limited of edition for The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword will be available for customers to pick up. The limited edition will cost you $69.99 and comes with a gold Wii Remote Plus, which is a perfect deal if you don't have a Motion Plus controller (you are going to need one for this game).

The regular version of Skyward Sword won't be coming with the Wii Remote, but it will be coming with a CD that holds the songs from the Zelda 25th anniversary symphony concert, which I'm trying to gather the money for.

Max Payne 3 Still Does Exist

Rocksteady has released screens of the third installment of Max Payne on their official website. Max Payne 3 was suppose to be released this year but was pushed back to a way later unknown date, and it seems like they changed the look of Max Payne, 'cause I could've sworn the original screenshots of Max Payne 3 had him bald; so it seems like Rocksteady completely redid the game, hence why they've pushed the game back so far.

Mircrosoft Reveals Gears 3 season pass.

To keep gear heads playing, EPIC and Mircrosoft announced recently that a season pass will be available to help players save money on the first four DLC packs.

Who is that guy?

The pass will be available via Xbox Live, will cost 2400 Microsoft points ($30) and will allow you to purchase the first 4 DLC packs at a discount as well as giving you access to the Liquid Metal weapons pack. (and maybe a new Multiplayer Character as well?)

The purchase of the pass would save you an overall 33% than it will cost for the DLC normally. That's a pretty good deal, but I'm going to have to think this one through since I'm a little short on cash at the moment.

Uncharted 2 Is So Amazing That I Want To Punch A Guardian

August 28, 2011 1 comments

Recently I started to play Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and finished it, well today I just finished my copy of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and that game was a hundred times better than the first.

Here's what I love about the game, the graphics were still amazingly beautiful; Naughty Dog did an excellent job once again when it came to the harsh jungle lands to the villages of Tibet, if it weren't for the cracks on my monitor, I would be enjoying the graphics to the ultimate. The length of the game was perfect, it was way longer than the first game and kept me entertained and busy for hours and hours. The difficulty was perfect also, it wasn't incredibly hard, despite me having trouble in certain parts of the games, but it wasn't too challenging for the difficulty you were on.

The character designs were another great thing, each person had their own uniqueness to them. Tenzin was a complete badass, I love that guy; he drags Drake from a train wreck in the middle of a blizzard back to his village then from there he helps Drake cross dangerous paths where they take on Suited Guardians. Tenzin also helps you take on a tank, he is the best character I have ever seen in a game. Anyways, the character designs were so great, not just the looks, but their personalities. I loved some people and hated the hell out of others, like Cloe, I didn't like her, I found her really annoying with her negative remarks. Zoran was an excellent baddie and Flynn was a straight up ass; all characters were just so amazing and unique.

Among Thieves also had a great story, it was full of action and surprises that kept me up and wanting more and more. I loved how it wasn't a typical game with a random romance that was thrown into the game also, yeah there was a romance scene, but it was pretty much just for a scene. And it wasn't really a romance scene much, which I loved, because lots of things in movies and games and whatnot are always throwing in such a cheesy romance, and it wasn't bad at all. Naughty Dog did amazingly well with the relationship between Drake and Elena.

Let's talk about the gameplay, it was pretty much the same as the first Uncharted, but not as repetitive really. In the first game you would shoot at enemies, run into a puzzle, solve the puzzle, run into a cut scene and then run into more enemies where it would repeat. In Uncharted 2, it wasn't much a repetitive thing, things kept changing, especially with the different types of settings; first you start off in a museum in Turkey, then Borneo, then you travel to different places in Tibet where there was a jungle terrain, snowy terrain and different caves and ruins that you had to search. The change of scenery and different types of maps kept the game fresh and didn't make it seem very repetitive; I missed the lush jungles, but I'm glad Naughty Dog decided to change things around. Everything else was the same though when it came to the mechanics of the games, the controls weren't changed much and the difficulty was nice and perfect.

Honestly, I really can't thing of anything negative about the game; I'm really trying to thing that there has to be something bad about Uncharted 2, but I really cannot think of anything. I just wish that the game was way longer, despite the length of the game was already long.

I'm definitely excited about Drake's Deception, and I will be getting the game when it comes out on November 1st. I would recommend this series to anyone who loves puzzlers, action games or shooters. Hell, I would recommend this game to anyone who enjoys video games.

Watch Loki And Captain America Dish It Out

An onset video for The Avengers has surfaced featuring Chris Evans and Tom Hiddleston in their characters, Captain America and Loki, fighting each other.

I so cannot wait till the Avengers comes out, I unfortunately have yet to see Captain America and the end credit scenes. I'm forced to wait till it comes out to the three dollar theater that is around my house. The wait will be worth it, I'm sure.

Borderlands Gets New Patch On Steam

Coming September 9, Gearbox will be releasing a new patch for Borderlands for the PC on Steam. The patch will be titled "BTest" and let's Gearbox gather player data that will be incorporated into Borderlands 2.

Randy Pitchford, Gearbox president, says that, “This will allow us to make better games.”along with, “This technology is about increasing the relationship between you and us."

The new patch will let Gearbox know which weapons are being used more or which areas are being visited more. But how those will be incorporated into Borderlands 2 is not exactly known at the moment, it could be that the user's saved game data from the first game will influence the second game.

Remember, this is only available for Borderlands on the Steam version.
